He made it twist round her wrist. "It likes you, just like the rest of me." He smiled and began to laugh.

Twilight laughed. "I've very touched that your tail likes me." She leaned against him, still grinning.

"You're back!" he said, hugging her tighter.

 

Natalie sighed and hugged him back.
"What happened this time?" she asked dazed.

 

Nova looks at the sky.

 

"Jecht took your orb and Dameon gave it back." he said, still crying.

 

jecht was tick off now dameon had betrayed him .......good he would just have to make natalies orb last but for now he warped behind his old boss knocking him unconsis and taking back the orbs he had give him he then floated into the air raised his hand and blasted him into oblivion

"good ridence"

he warped back to the hideout and put the orbs in the table

 

Bella curled up her knees, still leaning against Gharanth. "What now?" She asked, confused at what road they took. "Do we go to the Elemental warriors temple or stay put?" She rested her eyes, taking his hand.

 

Gharanth hugged Twilight. "Do you feel ready to face the elemental warriors? I am ready but I won't push you. It will be very dangerous and I'm not even sure I'll come out of it uninjured. I want you to be confident when we face them."

 

Twilight flushed. "No. But...I thought Xena said the elemental warrior of our world was gone."

 

"Well I don't trust him. I have a feeling that there is something there which will at least test us. I am prepared to face it like a warrior, but I am worried about you. Will you be ready?"

 

"I am not trained to make decisions like this, Gharanth. I will do what you think best." She lay her head against his shoulder. "But if you think doing so will get you hurt in any way, then I am against it."

 

"I'm not worried about me, I'm worried about you. It seems that you are not confident enough yet. Perhaps we should train more and find you easier targets to start with." Gharanth kissed her cheek and stroked her hair. "It would hurt me to see you harmed in any way,"

 

Twilight nodded. It was true. She wasn't confident. She'd never been confident in her life. Not once...or at least not that she could remember. She was always kicked down, Gharanth was the only one who had really picked her back up, besides the man who had taken care of her for a few years after her memory was lost, but his light had been snuffed out long ago.

 

Gharanth could see she was upset. "Don't worry my love, I will always be here to stand by you and protect you. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible though when we face whatever is out there. I will always defend you so don't worry yourself." He held her against him and sang softly.

 

All Twilight's worries disappeared in the rythum of Gharanth's song. It was like the sound of the wind, soft but strong and always moving, always free. It was calming there next to him. A feeling of peace. She sighed, loosing herself icompletely for the moment and letting her troubles vanish behind her.

 

Gharanth sang songs from his childhood, songs that mothers sing to their children. He remembered singing them to his son and a tear rolled down his cheek. It seemed so long ago, almost another life. He wondered if he would ever recapture a moment such as singing to his children. If he could have frozen the perfect moment he would have but it was a cruel memory. Perhaps it was time to make new good memories that would warm him in old age.

 

Twilight looked up and saw the tear, she reached forward and wiped the drop away with her thumb, caressing his face gentally.
"Gharanth..." She whispered his name, wondering what had caused these raw emotions in him.

 

"I'm sorry, I was lost in the past. It won't happen again. Some memories are bittersweet and I wonder if I will ever find that moment again. I feel perhaps that I will with help."

 

"You don't have to foget all those memories." Twilight lay back against him again. "Remembering is a good thing. "
