Demons and Heroes

He followed behind her.

 

She smiled.
"We will need to get supplies too. Such as shelter, which we will more then likely find another cave. We will need to pack water, food, and important essentials," she said.

 

"Sounds like hard work. Lets get to it!"

 

She laughed softly.
"What shall we get first?" she asked.

 

Nova left the river and heads to his usual place.

 

Gharanth walked at a steady pace, carrying all the baggage. He watched Twilight with a mixture of love and concern. The last few days had been very stressful for her and he did not want her to be hurt. He would help her master the orb and gain the extra power that it offered. He concentrated and a thick liquid droplet appeared at the end of his finger. Getting a clear glass vial he collected the liquid and stoppered the vial. He repeated this until 10 full vials were neatly stoppered in the pouch in his pocket. He would give these to Twilight as they would heal wounds. He then worked on creating anti-toxins. These he would also give to Twilight.

 

Nova accidentally bumbed into Gharanth. Sorry about that.

 

"I have no idea who you are but trust me, I am not someone you want to mess with. Harm the lady or show disrespect to her and you will have breathed your last breath. Do you understand me oxygen thief?"

 

Err, what lady?

 

Gharanth gestured towards Twilight. "If you have any sense in your miniscule brain you will apologise to her now."

 

Seriously, what do you mean?

 

Gharanth drew his sword. "You have to be taught some manners I see. The youth of today display a singular ignorance of etiquette. I suppose I'll just have to beat some into you."

 

Look here. If you are in some other region, then I understand that. But any other than that, I don't really understand.

 

"I really think you need help from a healer? Should you be out on your own? We are traveling to train with our powers. Why are you out and about? Escaped from your carers? Perhaps we should take you back. Where....do....you.....live?"

 

Nova stood in silence. No one is my carers. They all died.

 

Twilight swallowed, watching the two of them.

 

Gharanth thought to himself for a moment. No matter how careful you were in life there were always some occasions that needed a more direct approach. He walked up to the stranger and punched him hard in the stomach.

"Learn some respect, fool!"

 

Twilight jumped a little, Gharanth had surprised her. She touched Gharanth lightly on the shoulder. "It's alright, Gharanth. Right now, he isn't the enemy. We can deal with him another day."

 

"He was rude to you and showed a complete lack of respect. He didn't even register your presence."

Gharanth glared at the idiot.

"Lets leave this place. I'm beginning to dislike the area."

 

Twilight nodded, trembling a little as she took Gharanth's hand and squeezed it tightly. She was used to people not noticing her. She'd grown up a slave for so many years. It wasn't unusual for people to ignore her precence. Still she followed Gharanth away from the area.
