Demons and Heroes

"Well feel free to ask me anything and I will answer honestly. I have never had anyone talk openly with me before you. Most were too scared of me. There is nothing that I wouldn't tell you."

Gharanth began to eat though he still felt that something had upset her. He refused to push the issue though.She would tell him when she was ready.

 

She so wanted to tell him but she held back. She didn't like keeping things from him but she feared the memory she'd...aquired from him might be painful for him. She would NOT put him in any pain if she could. She NEVER wanted Gharanth hurt in any way and she would do anything to make it so.

 

It pained him to see her holding back. He found that when he talked to her the painful memories faded and he didn't feel so bad. If only she would see that she healed his wounds and helped him learn how to live again.

 

"Please don't look at me like that Gharanth." She was aching to tell him everything. She just coundn't refuse that face. It hurt to see him sad, more than anything in the world. She'd rather be tortured 7 trillion times again than see him upset.
"I do want to tell you but I can't...I don't want to hurt you as the memory will." She hugged her knees up against her chest.

 

"You hurt me more by not telling me. I need to drive out the memories and the only way to do this is to talk about them. Please tell me and I can heal us both."

 

Twilight burried her face in her knees and breathed, not wanting to see Gharanth's face when she told him.
"There was a boy..." She said finally. "A dead boy..."

 

"My son. He was killed while I was away fighting along with my mate. Ironically they burned to death while the great fire demon was away. I couldn't save them. I control fire, but it destroyed my son."

Tears filled his eyes, but Gharanth brushed them away and continued to eat.

 

"Oh my..." Tears were filling Twilights eyes as well. She wrapped her arms around him and held him tight. "I'm so sorry..."

 

"You would have liked him. I can't turn back time, but I now protect children. They are all someones son or daughter and I know exactly how the parents would feel..........."

Gharanth smiled and kissed away her tears.

"That's the problem of hanging around a demon with a past."

 

Twilight looked up into his eyes, caressing the side of his face. "I don't see any problem." She whispered, a smile tugging at her lips.

 

"You are far too kind to me. I don't deserve you as a companion."

Gharanth hugged her and stroked her hair. He would protect the only one who could soothe his soul.

Twilight closed her eyes and melted in his arms. They had a long day ahead of them. She was happy with this one moment though.

"IT may be over now, but i can never forget it," she said.

Dameon looked over at Aldon.
"I sensed your reaction when I said your name. Do not be alarmed for I do not wish to harm you in any way. I am in search of the water orb also. I must find out how I harness water abilities without such mystical object," he explaine

 

jecht stood on a cliff looking out over the ocean trying to calm himself

 

Dameon continued to wlak with Aldon.
"Hmm, I'll come back some other time. expect to see me in the future," Dameon said. He created a portal then teleported hisself to Jecht.
"Jecht. You seem like you're in a better mood. How are you feeling?" Dameon asked standing up in a tree over at the cliff.

 

jecht gave him a look that would turn a normal person into a puddle

 

Dameon gave a nervous look.
"Pardon my interuption Jecht," Dameon said with a bow in respect.

 

"you know this isnt easy for me yet you make me do it ...... or is it ryoko hasnt told you of my childhood"

 

"Pardon my curisity, but what do I make you do, and no Ryoko hasn't told me. I shall speak with her after our conversation is over" Dameon said
