Demons and Heroes

Twilight's hair brushed back from her face. She had never seen Gharanth use the wind orb before.

 

Gharanth gritted his teeth. The memory of the origins of his getting the wind orb haunted him. Aroe would have approved his using the orb for good though. The water orb and Twilight needed protection. He formed the winds into a funnel and then into a full blown twister.

Ok, I'll leave, but do you think the runt of a demon could really control an orb?
*pointing at Twilight*

If she misuses the water orb.......she could make herself drown!
*laughs to himself*

Also, my friend, be more threatening next time, those who don't know how those orbs work could meet an unfortunate end......

*thinks*

Let's make a deal, if you can beat me at our next meeting, I'll give you this orb, but you have to show me your true potential with those orbs. Also......

*looks at twilight*

I want to see what she can do with that water orb.......

*lays down a map*

Twilight shuddered. She could feel the pain radiating from Gharanth even as Xana disapeared. Reaching forward, she took his hand, squeezing it tightly.

 

Gharanth relaxed and the fire died. "What an idiot. I wasn't using the orbs at full power. How arrogant is he? I won't kill now unless I really have to. He is a blustering fool and will be killed by someone soon."

Gharanth held Twilight against him and kissed her cheek.

"Are you alright my love? The orb is yours now."

 

"I'm not hurt, Gharanth." She had tears in her eyes and she wiped them away. "Just a bit tired...Gharanth...I think that man was the one from my dream." Her eyes sagged and she leaned against him, suddenly exhausted. Like the world was comming down on top of them.

 

Gharanth lifted her up and carried her to her tent. Laying her on the bedding he wrapped the blankets around her and kissed her gently. Leaving the tent he went to his now empty tent and lay down. He was worried about her. She looked terrified at this stranger; Lorn, Zorn or whatever his name was. Gharanth would kill him and Twilight would be free. He swore this to himself.

 

Twilight knew she was in her bed but couldn't remeber how she'd gotten there. She was too tired to think about it though. She sighed and rolled onto her side, closing her eyes. "Good night, Gharanth." She whispered into the darkness. Then she fell into a nightmarish sleep.
She tossed and turned through the night, her dreams torturing her.

 

Gharanth heard her and could not sleep. He went to her tent and gently put his arms around her. Lying on the ground next to her bed. She would feel and sense him there and perhaps that would bring her peace. He fell asleep lay on the floor next to her bed.

 

That night, Twilight dreamed she was clutching a thin, lifeless boy in her arms, his skin was burned and bloody and his grey eyes faded with death. She cried over him for quite some time in her dream before the vision left her completely and she fell into a more restful sleep.

Gharanth kept one arm draped over Twilight as he slept. His sleep was uneasy as if he was tuning into her fears. This had never happened before. He wondered if it had something to do with his love for her.

Twilight surged awake earlier than normal. The sun was just comming up over the crest of mountains and the sky was a bright blood red. She blinked over at Gharanth who lay next to her and tried to recal what had happend in the last day. When she found she could still remember, she smiled to herself and touched Gharanth's face gentally.

Off Topic:
Aldon got pwned by a new evil, Aldon's darkside tried to steal the water orb, Twilight gained the water orb after Dark Aldon gave up (Gharanth is scary O.o), the new evil said his name is Xana, Xana has the lightning orb.

So not much has happened......

 

ooc: No I'm not scary! I'm a softy!

bic: Gharanth woke with his arm still draped over the sleeping Twilight. Moving slowly and softly he got up and left the tent. He set a fire and boiled water for tea. Soon the smell of cooking eggs filled the air and the steam of tea. He took breakfast into Twilight.

"Morning sleepyhead! I have brought you breakfast in bed."

 

Twilight's eyes opend wide. She had been awake a few minutes ago but had been to tired to rise. She smiled at Gharanth, sitting up.
"It's gonna take some time getting used to my own personal chef." She scooted over so Gharanth could sit. "Thank you. Wont you please join me for breakfast?"

 

"I would be honoured to be both your personal chef and to join you. I hope you slept well. You seemed to be having nightmares to begin with. You need not worry now, I can protect you. Think of me as your loyal hound, ready to protect and serve you."

 

"I know you will protect me." She sat closer to him. "And I will work hard so that I may return the favor if need be."
She stopped, the picture of the dead boy from her dreams flashing in her eyes as she brushed Gharanth's arm. She shook away the memory and pasted on a smile as she ate.

 

"Please tell me what is upsetting you. I know something is. I can only help if you tell me."

Gharanth looked at her in concern and did not eat.

"I won't eat until I explain away what upsets you when I touch you."

 

"Nothing upsets me, Gharanth. There is absolutely nothing I don't like about your touch." She ran her hand over the side of his face as if to prove it, eyes shineing as she did.
