I'm just as confused as you are! O.o

Ok so she told me that she's only gone for one week. Don't worry she will be back Sep 17th.

Gharanth packed the tents and the rest of the equipment and slung the pack on his back. He smiled at Twilight. "Two tents are no heavier than one. I am from strong stock. Your power is in your speed so you don't need a heavy burden, mine is in my strength and I can easily cope. I would be honoured to carry things for you."

ooc: Sorry, my internet was down yesterday.

 

Twilight rolled her eyes. "I can carry my bag, thank you." She smiled as she patted the small brown sack. "I don't have much to carry anyways." She shrugged, looking up at him. She looked like a mear child next to his massive strength and muscle. She didn't mind though.
"Perhaps we should get going, unless there is something you need to do before we set out. I dunno how long our journey will take."

 

"It's quite a long trek. I hope you don't mind but I've packed plenty of food and water in my pack so that you don't have to carry so much. You mustn't worry about me as I'm a seasoned traveler and I'm as strong as an ox."

Gharanth smiled and held out his hand.

"Now if you will accompany me my lady."

 

"Why thank you, fine knight." She laughed as the two of them started through the woods. The clouds weren't looking cooperative today, twirling angrily and dark in the sky. It wasn't gonna be an easy first day.

 

Gharanth looked at the sky as well. The clouds were threatening to make todays progress short. He knew of some caves and hoped they would be able to reach them before the storm broke. The thought of Twilight cold and wet made him upset.

 

Twilight giggled at Gharanth's look. "Oh quit worrying, my love. If we don't make it to shelter...well...what did a little water do to anyone?"
The sky rumbled as if irritated at her lack of worry, and her smile shrank a little.

 

Gharanth put his arm around her and picked her up. Running as fast as he could he knew he could make the caves before the storm broke, just.

"Forgive me my beloved, but we do not have the luxury of refinement. That is a bad storm forming and it would be better if we made shelter before it builds up. Once it starts properly it will not be safe out in the open."

 

The sky rumbled louder above them and Twilight jumped a bit, clinging onto Gharanth as the sence of fear caught up with her. The clouds were already spitting a drizzle of rain on them, it wouldn't be so calm in a few minutes.

 

Gharanth spotted a cave up ahead in the distance.
"Hold in there my love, we are nearly safe. I can carry us both to the cave and we can get warm and dry there. It's better than a tent in this weather. I will look after you."

 

Twilight's arms circled around his neck and she relaxed in his arms. "I know you will, Gharanth." She lay her head against him chest, waiting patiently.

 

Gharanth reached the cave just as the heaven's opened. He carried Twilight and placed her safely where there was a dry shelf of rock. The cave had housed an animal in the past and there was plenty of wood and dried leaves around. Gharanth tidied these and made a fire to warm Twilight. He smiled as he removed his wet shirt. The scars on his back and shoulders stood out as pale lines in the firelight. He dug through his bag. Passing food and water to Twilight and getting a dry shirt for himself. He wrapped her in his cloak.

 

Twilight frowned in worry as she ran her numb fingers over one of the scars on his shoulder. What horrid person would do such a thing to him. She stared at the ground, feeling anger towards whoever had caused him such scars. The thought of Gharanth in pain was too much for her.

 

"The badges of a warrior. From battles in the past. You must not worry yourself about them. They are long gone. I have been stabbed, sliced with swords and tortured, but I am still here in one piece. You however are cold. I will help you get warm."

He sat beside her, wrapping his arms around her and drawing her into his warmth.

"You must not catch a chill my lady."

 

She looked away from the scars and into his eyes. "Is there nothing you fear, Gharanth?" She inched closer to him, feeling safe despite the rain that pelted the edge of the cave. Her head was spinning as she grew warmer. "Have you always been so brave?"

 

"I'm not brave. I just became cold and didn't care any more. Once that happens it is like a living death. Never stop caring Twilight. I found that you lose that spark in life that makes it worth living. I was a lost soul. I didn't feel and I didn't care. It was the darkest time of my life. I was at my most powerful and my most cruel. I never want to go back there."

Gharanth kissed her gently.

"Now thanks to you my love I never will go back there."
