I found this to be an interesting concept.
A MMO game and a tv show are set in the same fictional universe. At similar times, and what happens in the game affects the tv show as well as what happens in the tv show affects the game.

This video says it better then me.

Coming out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. One of the few MMOs to be released on those gaming platforms.

What are people's thoughts on this Game and TV show link up thing?

Looks pretty sweet. I'll probably play Planetside 2 a lot more though.

Elaborate your post more, please and thank you.

And watch the video in the link. I'm just repeating what the designers said.

i hate to be THAT guy, but you dudes have to make your posts longer, like at least 10 words that are somewhat relevant. (☞゚∀゚)☞

Anywho, seems like a cool idea, reminds me of this other MMO called The Secret World that is going to be on all 3 systems too, sort of the same idea except with secret societies. maybe i'll play it, but i haven't been known to stick with MMOs too long though.

Nice catch on this one PaW.

I'm thinking that if this goes well, it could turn into an awesome thing. In fact, if this goes well enough, maybe other TV networks and stuff will decide to do the same type of thing. I'm not one for wanting to get an MMO on a gaming console, but if I had a PS3, I would play this, if not just to have the chance to have an impact on the show. I would definitely be waiting a while to play this, but this is something I'm looking forward to

This. We have the duty to ask members to make relevant subject based, appropriately length posts outside of the spam zone. And I didn't notice the mistake, I was more focused on the single word response. It would have been nice if you elaborated anyway, and talked about the thread at some point.

From a story point of view, it's a very dynamic format to get to mediums to actively affect each other. Usually, you release a game, a book, a movie and so on after they have finished final production of them all, but this concept says that what will be produced is ongoing depending on the actions of players, affecting the entire fictional universe's characters and setting, to say the least.
A very complex system with hopefully many possibilities.

    This is quite interesting actually.

A video game and a TV show all meshed together seems like a very shaky formation though. I'm not sure what to expect from something like this, but I'm liking the idea.

I find this very ambitious, but very intriguing nonetheless. To have a MMO be interconnected with a Sci-Fy show is really cool in all honesty. I think the thing that will make it most successful is the fact that they aren't necessarily taking place in the same areas. (San Francisco for the game, and St. Louis for the show.) That way, it can be direct whilst remaining independent from each other so to speak.

I really like the concept of how "arks" of extraterrestrial beings come to earth but (I think, from the sound of it) accidentally crash into earth and terraform it. So in the end, survivors of that crash coexist on Earth, something that is not cliché from most alien concepts. I really like that.

It should be successful, as many people do enjoy MMO, or at least the field of gaming in that genre is growing due to the endless gameplay available on such things. And the fact it's a tv show as well. It doesn't seem exclusive to younger players and viewers either. For instance, I know my father isn't a fan personally on playing video games, as he never really grew up with that. But he does enjoy sci-fys, be it tv show, movie, or reading books. So this can connect children, teens, and adults in the same realm.

I certainly would like to get the game, but we shall see...
