Yes, it is impossible. But not for Superman who has no limits to what he can do. Superman is as strong as he needs to be. In comic you can get away with a lot of stuff, even the impossible.

Superman needs to race from the Earth to the sun and back? He can and has done it (in under two minutes). Pull the Earth around? Has done it. Hear in the vacuum of Space (which is also impossible)? Yeah you better believe he can do that. Take the force of fifteen supernovas going off in his face? You have three guesses to the answer of that question (first two are wrong).

Superman as a character is vastly different from Goku. Superman is all about breaking and dealing with mental and emotional limits with his near-total lack of physical limits, while Goku is all about breaking and dealing with physical limits with his near-total lack of mental and emotional ones.

....You're in denial aren't you? I think you're forgetting what the word "impossible" means. I don't care what drug-induced land you're in, you are not able to hear in space, you are not able to be as strong as you need to be. Because again, that would basically make him God, which he is not. He's a guy who has no fashion sense, and needs to learn to put his underwear on the inside of his pants.

Goku. Goku. Goku. Since the first two are wrong, I guess that means the third is right

Wait, so you're saying that you wouldn't call BS on 80% of the stuff he does anyway? I'd like to call BS about being able to jump over buildings, fly through the air, and shoot lasers out of your eyes . . . Yea, i'd call BS.
So you're saying Goku doesn't have mental and emotional limits? Funny, I thought his whole reason for fighting was to protect the earth and all it's inhabitants. I always saw him as more of a good guy than Superman ever was. Oh and guess what, there's one limit Superman can never break, his fear of rocks.

Leaping over a building, flying through air, shooting lasers; that's all fine, I can accept that. But once you start breaking the laws of the universe without any real explanation except "it's in a comic", that's when you start needing help.

Yeah, Goku has mental and physical, as well as emotional limits, which makes him a great guy, and he trains to push past those limits. But with superman, someone just decided to say "Let's give this guy absolutely no limits whatsoever so he can basically grab the universe with his bare hands and rip it in two." And why not? They already had him grab one thing that isn't physical, so why not have him just grab the universe and completely tear it? I dare the genius writer to do that, I double-dare the ************.

Dang. Was hoping Goku would win, but after the explaination of their abilities/capabilities at the beginning of the vid, I was like "Well ****. Superman's gonna win."

The fact you are trying to use real life physics to dispute the abilities of a fictional character who has shown canonically go against said physics says a lot. You can try as you might to say, "this is impossible to do in real life so he can't do it", but in the end he has done so in his home universe. There is no point in arguing it.

Also fashion sense has no bearing on this what so ever.

No that isn't what I'm saying. Look at it this way: Superman's story is not like Goku's, it's about trying to become the best but of an immigrant facing the challenge of home versus heritage. After accepting his alien origin he has reach his full potential, combine with the endless light of the sun his power is pretty much limitless. In sort he is as strong as he needs to be.

Goku on the other hand has never been invincible. He has very clear limits which he has to surpass to solve the problem at hand. That is the point of his character.

To be fair, the rocks in question can kill him with there radiation.

They also explain at the end.

You can accept that . . . really? None of that is possible by the laws of physics. So I don't see how shutting a black hole would be any different. They're both unrealistically impossible.

Why do you guys keep saying he has no limits? He definitely has limits. He's limited by these obscene fear of rocks for some reason. The green ones specifically. Don't know what his deal is, for real.

Woah woah woah woah woah . . . Did you actually just put Superman and immigrant in the same sentence? He's an alien from another planet with superpowers. He was raised on a farm, and he works for the newspaper . . . Pretty sure he never had to take a citizen exam. And the only difference in Superman and Goku, is Superman likes to wear tight suits and he only has the one form. Goku has four . . .

You've missed the point I was trying to make so hard I think it flew off faster then the speed of light that you went back in time and killed JFK.

Also why does EVERYONE keep mentioning Superman's appearance in their arguments? That litterally has no effect on anything what so ever.

(I would have gone with a normal face palm picture but I felt the Superman one was fitting given the context.)

Why, whatever are you talking about? I'm simply stating the facts. There's no ulterior motives to my actions at this point. You're being completely absurd.

You aren't preticularly good at the "stating facts" side of things it would seem.

But I am stating facts. Everything i've said is true, in my opinion.

Thank you. I wasn't really sure how to spell the word. :)

Maybe it would be best if we just all agree to disagree (even though the Superman-would-win supporters are right) and just drop it subject.

And I guess you're right. We should just drop it.

    Yeah- no.

In the end does it matter who wins or loses, who's right or wrong, or what is possible for fictional characters to do in their universe? Both Goku and Superman are ultimate heroes capable of feats we all wish we'd be able to do. In the end this was a silly fight of putting two great heroes against one another because we love them as characters and would like to know who'd win in the end. And I believe you'd all agree.

Yep, I agree. Everyone loves openings that have an upbeat tone and lyrics. I completely agree.

Nothing more heroic then fighting an anti-matter alien from another universe who destroys universes.
