Death Note movie in America!

I'd heard Hollywood was persuing rights to a remake, but I didnt think my anime mag was serious.

I could care less if it fails. What worries me is that it might become popular and BOOM. All of a sudden the loyal fans who had been watching the anime for years are suddenly on the bandwagon in the eyes of society.

 

Jeez, you guys, start going on IMDB and looking up screenshots and stuff, they aren't going to hire American actors for one.
And the movie is titled L, so my memory serves me. And it is bluntly a prequel to the original Death Note taking place during L's life.
And plus, it is also being directed by a Japanese director, so nothing might be screwed that bad other than the English dubbing voices.

However, I do hope that even the Japanese don't screw this up.
Seriously. But I doubt it, it's the Japanese, however. Not to sound too much of a stereotype, but they are massively awesome with intelligence in virtually every subject.

 

Okay the Jap verison was kinda...way off of the anime and a bit weird and Hollywood ruin just about everything so this have to fail​

 

I don't want to sound rude, but have you ever considered that the makers of this film have watched the anime and the live action and have searched through the mistakes to therefore fix it?
I mean, give America a break. Sure, they've messed up DOA and Ikki Tousen, but America and Death Note? I would be the only person on this thread saying it would be a nice change in the scenery of movies that America has been doing recently.

Let's all just hope they really don't screw it up.

 

Well that is true and maybe they might do a good job. I have to admit Hollywood may add their own little twists and such but they're aren't that bad. Sorry if I offended you and yeah let's hope​

 

Death Note movie

Hi kinda new, but I thought I'd start a topic and get to know some people. I might be kinda late on this, but did anyone hear about that new Death Note Live-Action movie. It's coming to stores on DVD Sept. 16(ugh that's too long) It's like the entire show squeezed into a movie with live actors. I looks really cool. And It's going to come to the the US with english dubs. How awesome is that. From the trailers I've seen, It sounds like it's the same voice actors from the actual show. =) Sorry.... I'm just so siked that they're makin a Death Note movie. Does anyone else mabey have any cool info?

 

Naw, that's about it.... I'll totally buy it. Im looking forward to the voice overs. Brian Drummond's gonna kick some serious ass as Ryuk.

In a bit of irony, Brad Swaile was asked a question about doing a live-action movie with a voice-over, and he said he's be so psyched if he did. Major foreshadowing, amirite?

 

I watched it on YouTube it is amazing I love it but it was japanese it was still awesome though I cna't belive they are having it come to america I shall buy it :].​

The movie is amazing! Beyond amazing!! Ken'ichi Matsuyama (L) is absolutely adorable!!!! But Ryuuk can get a little creepy at times....seriously, I finished it at about 2, which is when I get paranoid, so I kept thinking Ryuuk was gonna stalk me...

 

Wimp :'D I have a huge picture of Ryuk right in the view of my bed, and boy do I sleep great.

He's only menacing the first time you see him.​

 

I think Ryuk is kinda scary too lol.

 

Aw, I <3 Ryuk. He's only a little creepy, but I understand about how you are paranoid at around 2. So am I ;D​

He is a great actor though. Played the role of L perfectly.

 

I can't wait for this. If only the company that made this movie was making the Dragon Ball one.

Death Note made such an awesome movie that it compelled me to buy both movies in Japanese.

I hate cliffhangers.
