Stop using that SNL clip of the woman playing Palin. It's not funny. It doesn't make any points. By playing it you only look like you have no other ammunition against her. Thank you.

No-one actually cares about the presidential elections anymore. They are a non-issue if there is no economy for them to reform.

I know. It's not like she isn't a crazy hick from Alaska. The land where the ice road truckers are the smart ones and where they think it's a mistake to go to Canada.

You obviously have no idea about how the government works. Congrats.

And her name is Tina Fey.

On the contrary, I blame the fact that the Democrats can't understand that the bailout plan isn't as expensive as the alternative of doing nothing, and that the taxpayers shouldn't bailout the idiots that took out mortgages they couldn't afford to pay off.

Mostly Republicans voted against the Bailout. Get your facts straight.

Not to mention you just contradicted yourself in the same sentence. You have a serious problem sir.

I was talking about why it's broken all of the time. If you're talking about this event in particular then you're not entirely wrong but the way people vote idiotically for congresspeople who do nothing but try to get reelected via pork barrel spending and other meaningless tasks is an embarrassment.

Congress hasn't had the opportunity to make any real changes in the last 8 years because anything that could be considered real progress is Vetoed by our beloved President.

I doubt they'd have done that much good without that huge encumbrance, but since I have no idea what I'm talking about I'll go with your answer.

How was that a contradiction? All I said was that I felt that we should bail out the companies since they're making these gambles with tax payer money, but I also felt that we shouldn't bail out the people that took out mortgages too big for them to pay off. Also, I wasn't referring to the people who voted against it as much as I was saying that in general the Democrats think we should bail out the low-income Americans who took out the huge mortgages.

Either way you're bailing out someone who screwed up, it's just one has the potential to fix it the other does not.

But that's the point. It's not our responsibility to bail out the low-income Americans. They made their mistakes with the mortgages, they should deal with it themselves, since life is rough for everyone middle-class and below. As for the banking companies, it's more important to bail them out since they're playing with investments from taxpayers.

Yeah, we don't want them playing with investments. We want them being intelligent and not taking outrageous risks.

As for not bailing out the low-income Americans, what have they done wrong? They got the mortgages completely legally and all they are doing is aspiring to the "great American dream". Can't blame them for trying. But you can blame the banks for giving out the mortgages in the first place. If they know they aren't going to get the money back, why give out the mortgage in the first place?

Idiots, they deserve to be sacked. I just wish they weren't taking whole economies down with them >_>

Well it's more like unavoidable. The last depression sucked you know? It's the conditions under which they want this exorbitant amount of money that gives me that bad feeling.

They thought it was smart to take the banks up on an offer that was too good to be true. Their crime is stupidity really.

The insurance and mortgage companies are the ones that are wrong here, they allowed low income Americans to take out loans that they couldn't pay for, which any good company shouldn't do. Don't blame the poor people. People who don't have enough money to pay for a house on their own, and not enough money to pay for a loan to HELP them pay for the house.

I suppose it'd be better if they just lived on the street. Problem solved, right?

So they are stupid for wanting something better? If everyone took that stance no-one would ever try.

And anyway, if the banks never offered these mortgages in the first place there would be no problem. It's practically entrapment.
