Deadman Wonderland: Absurdity is Reality

Ezek just stood at his door as he listen to Charlotte speak. He didn't know why they would be searching rooms for candy, something they provided for them, in the first place. While he did have some candy in his cell, he kept at least two pieces on him at all times as a precaution. If there searching for candy the n it can't be good. He thought before heading towards the cafeteria.

 

Shuya couldn't ignore the girl's comment. He did find it odd that he felt like eating after what he half-paid attention to. He turned to her, walking backwards now.

"You just have to live with it, " Shuya said, his voice sounding as if he were joking. "We can't fight back, so we just have to live with it. Candy?"

He reached his arm out, offering a piece of candy. If the guards wetre to find his stash, all he had saved up would have gone to waste. Better for at least some of it to be used.

 

Charlotte glanced at Shuya, "No thank you... I will not accept something from someone who believes we cannot fight back against fate. I, myself, will not die here. I'm getting out...I...I didn't..." she closed her mouth firmly against her words and continued to walk.

 

Light looked at Shuya's candy lustfully. "C-Could I have it?" He asked shyly. He had bumped into shuya, but he wanted some candy. Why die here? After all, he could repay the favor and pay him back sooner or later because of his temper problem.

 

OOC: Currently at my cousin house so I don't know how often I'll be able to post.

 

Shuya stared at Charlotte for a second. Ignoring her response, Shuya dropped the piece of candy in her hand.

"Keep it," Shuya told her. "Someone has to keep the hope alive, right. Plus, I want to make sure that I have my chance against you."

He then tossed another piece of candy to Light as he gulped down his own piece. They didn't taste too good, but it was a small price to pay for hin to stay alive.

 

Light caught it. "T-thanks." Light kinda liked Shuya. But he couldn't make friendships. If he did it would only be worse when he had to kill those friends. He disdainfully swallowed the candy. "Ugh..." He said. It was worth it to stay alive. At least until his sentence was carried out.

 

Charlotte glowered at Shuya and then at the piece of candy in her hand. "Who..do you think you're dealing with..! I'LL KII--" An arrow made of blood struck the ground in front of Charlotte and she froze in place. "I don't believe it...no...not....not here...not now..." "Yo, Charlotte! Long time...no see." a woman with shoulder length white hair landed in between Charlotte and Shuya. Her hands were covered in fingerless gloves and she wore some elegant ninja costume of silver and a dull green. "I've been looking everywhere for you. You're going to enter the dog race, right? Me too! Let's make it fun, kay?" She smiled and Charlotte tightened her grip on her bunny, "Mytoko....Mytoko Ishihari...! Don't you dare treat me like I'm your friend! You heartless b*tch!" Mytoko wagged a finger at her and stuck out her tongue, "Now now...there are kiddies around. Don't go spewing that filth from your mouth so soon. After all..." her eyes darkened and a cruel smile spread across her lips, "I'm not the one who slaughtered their entire family and sixth grade class." Charlotte's eyes grew wide and she gripped her head, "Stop it...lies...all LIES!" Mytoko shrugged, "Is that so? Then what about all those Carnival Corpses you've won? How many Deadman's have you killed? How many battles have you won?" Charlotte lifted her eyes slowly to meet Mytoko's and she stopped dead still in fear of the bloodlust in Mytoko's dull eyes, "I don't...I don't know...I can't remember. I've lost count..."

 

Shuya was ready to fire back a comment a fomment back at Charlotte, but he stopped when the strange girl interupted. He felt frozen, watching the events unfold before him.

"Leave her alone, " Shuya caught himself saying to the stranger. His wrist cutters were back in his room, a foolish mistake, leaving him to only clench his fists.

 

Mytoko turned around and glowered at Shuya, "Why should I? She's a cold-blooded killer...in a training bra. After all...didn't we all meet the Red Man?"

Charlotte grabbed Mytoko's hair and yanked her backwards, bending the woman's spine. Mr. Wrong fell to the ground and the barely healed cut on Charlotte's hand burst open again, her blood solidifying into a long blade of blood. She held her Branch of Sin to Mytoko's throat, "No matter what you say...or do...you will always be second rate compared to me. I don't care if that makes me a killer... What the Red Man did to me...does not make me look up to him. It makes me wish he'd killed me when he had the chance...I wish...I was never born." she whispered and released Mytoko, watching the slender woman flee down the halls.

 

Shuya lightly chuckled as he saw the woman running away. She had seen how Charlotte fought on Carnival Corpse, but had never been this close to witness her strength.

"Nicely done," Shuya said, hoping to get on hergood side for their current situation. "Now i really see why you feel like it would be possible to get out of here. You are truly special, especially amongst us deadmen."

 

Charlotte glared at him, "If you believe unnecessary praise...or nice words will make me go easy on you if we end up fighting in the Carnival Corpse...you're wrong." She picked up her bunny, dusted off his legs and strapped him to her back before marching down the hallway towards the entrance for the dog race. Carnival Corpse paid well enough in Cast Points but the exersice wasn't the same. She missed normalicy and even in here...it wouldn't be taken from her.

 

'Not my intention," Shuya responsed, a smirk on his face.

He quickly made his way down to the cafeteria for a quick sandwich before the dog race.

Still with bread in his mouth, he ran down the hall to join the other prisoners in the dog race.

 

Light had found Shuya and Charlotte's interaction quite funny. He headed to the cafeteria unseen and ate. When he finished, he neatly stacked his stuff on his tray and put it in the designated area. He left the cafeteria and headed to the dog race.

 

Ezek chose to remain silent during the whole incident between Charlotte and Mytoko, seeing as there was nothing he could do. Once it had ended he made his way towards the cafeteria were he grabbed some toast. He took one bite into the toast before heading to the dog race.

 

As Shuya got to the waiting room for the Dog Races, he noticed Charollete was going to compete as well. He kept his face stiff, hiding his surprise. He didn't doubt that she did great during Carnival Corpse, but this was a test of stamina, not strength.

"I wonder who else is entering," Shuya commented. Mostly to himself.

 

Light was inredibly bored. He wasn't entering, but he wanted to watch. He had no favorite, but he hoped Shuya would win, since he seemed to be the most sane Deadman.

 

By the time Ezek had finished the piece of toast he'd gotten from the cafeteria, he had arrived at the waiting room. He'd only participated in a dog race once without a clue what to expect. Now that he was doing it again, he knew for certain what to expect. "Let's see of I've gotten rusty at all since the last time. He thought to himself.

 

His crimson eyes danced across the cafeteria as he watched the Deadman scurry around and eat. Their conversations, the way they behaved, their existence...it all disgusted him. They were beneath him! Which is he why he watched from the shadows, they were not worthy of his presence! But he was all=seeing, all-knowing. These pieces of filth would not escape his judgement if the time should come. The Undertaker shifted his eyes to Shuya giving candy to other inmates before Shuya popped a piece himself. Where does he get all that...he'll require some investigation.

As the DW inmates began to move to the waiting room for the dog races he slinked away deeper into the shadows. He travelled to a small break room for guards and took a seat, flicking the CCTV to the frequency for the dog race. And so the rats will scurry.

 

As everyone prepared for the dog race, Charlotte adjusted her number. All Deadman's participating in the dog race were forbidden from using their Branch of Sin as the spectators thought it was all acting and it was impossible to act using your blood to gain an advantage. She glanced to the side and spotted Chief Warden Nagisa Soubi. Setting Mr. Wrong in the locker provided to her, Charlotte smiled at her disturbing bunny, "Don't worry....everything will be over soon. With Warden Nagisa here...it's time to sabotage a few things." Everyone would participate today if they hadn't decided they were watching. This wasn't an ordinary dog race and Charlotte knew it. People would die today...and she would claim the prize.

Herding everyone to the starting line, Chief Warden Soubi jabbed her sword in the back of a few reluctant members. Charlotte kept to the back, keeping an eye on the rest of the competitors. She saw Shuya and gritted her teeth. "Looks like I'm not the only Deadman here after all...but I won't be the one to lose."

Bright blue eyes danced across the screen and a wolfish grin spread across his lips. Turning to his fellow Undertaker, the man practically growled, "This otta be fun to see. Little murderer Charlotte the Crow....and a majority of the Deadman's... I'm gonna enjoy this. You think she'll bleed? Oh if only...that would let me get off a lot better at night." The Undertaker Adolfo hadn't ever spoken his first name to many, but Charlotte knew it and he enjoyed tormenting her and seeing her everyday. Licking his lips, he felt his heart race at the thought of her blood staining the blades used in the dog race. The first time he'd met her, he'd developed an odd sexual desire to break, maim, and destroy the little girl who carried around a disturbing looking bunny.

The crowd cheered for their favorites as the door lifted, revealing the entries. Of course not all knew what was going to happen and thus they cheered because they wanted entertainment. A race to the finish line, dodging and avoiding things that looked like they'd kill a person...but it was all fake and acting...wasn't it?

Ready?! GO!

A herd of the competitors took off in a mass before Charlotte and she suppressed a giggle as a large swinging axe swung down and sliced the group in half. Her giggle burst from her lips and her eyes widened until her pupils were mear dots in orbs of white. Several people turned to look back at the insanely giggling girl and were caught on the back swing of the axe, making Charlotte laugh harder....even as she started running after them, hopping lithely around the blade.
