Kingdom Hearts II Dead keybladers?

Well I've just noticed that the keyblade returns to its keyblade master right? So I was wondering how come the keyblades dont return to their original masters? You know when the three chasers pick up the keyblades of Sora, Riku, and Mickey's?

 

Are Sora, Riku, and Mickey dead in KH3? I hope not. o-o; Unless that part takes place in the future or something. Way future.

A person doesn't have to die for a Keyblade to choose a different master. Riku didn't die when the Keyblade passed to Sora.

Also, I think that Nomura recently confirmed in an interview that Sunset Horizons is "connected to the future".

 

Riku's Dawn keyblade was there though. Isn't that some sort of evolved form of the Soul-Eater that Maleficent gave to him in KH1? Because he was walking the road of twilight with it, I dunno.

I dunno if the dawn keyblade would be there in the way past.
