    "Tick tock tick tock." Red X muttered to himself as he watched a computer screen upload something onto a credit card-like device he owned. He had hacked into the bank's computers and had begun transferring money into several of his own private accounts. Though money wasn't all he was after. He laid back in the manager's chair and kicked his feet up on the desk as he watched the screen rapidly change windows. The device had been something he had stolen from another villain who wouldn't be doing any crime for a few weeks with all the broken bones Red X had left him.

    The cannon began to charge to deal another blow to Red Devil but this time Jaime managed to override the Scarab's wishes and force the weapon to revert back into his own hand. He let out a loud sigh of relief and ran over towards Red Devil. "Sorry about that! The Scarab just thought you were an enemy and it just..." He scratched the back of his head though it served no purpose as it was just covered in armor. "This thing has a mind of its own and it'd rather shoot first and ask questions later. You know what I mean?" He shook his head slightly and frowned from under the helmet. "Sorry man, but I don't think I recognize you. I'd remember if I had ever seen a guy like you. Er...how do you know me exactly?" 'We've joined forces with Batman and others before. It's possible that he has heard of us through another source.' The Scarab answered for him.

    Tim was careful as he sped out of his suit, since it was a gift from Bruce for Jack's, Tim's biological father, funeral. The tie itself belonged to Dick. He was inside of the limo, thanking Bruce's...intuitiveness as the limo started driving...without a driver. Sorry, Alfred, you and Lucius can mourn Bruce. I...I don't have the time. He strapped on his gloves and boots and attached his wing-like cape. He then reached for his own utility belt, two small bands that also held gadgets and and a series of belts. He strapped on the utility belt around his waist the bands around his biceps and the other belts around his torso, making an X-design over his chest with his new emblem in the middle. The last thing he did was put on his mask, a redesigned Robin mask. "Time for Red Robin to fly," he said, as the limo turned a corner. He dove forward until he was under the sunroof, which was open, and jumped. He clicked his boots and fire streamed out of the heels as he flew out. "Holy cowboy spurs, Batman," he mumbled as he struggled for control. It was part of the design Tim had found for a new Batman costume. With each hand, he touched a small button on each side of the cape and it spread out, it's edges resembling feathers. It looked like he really had wings. Using his arms to guide his wings, Red Robin found he was more in control with the wings, just as he planned. "Now...to the bank!" He turned around and clicked his heels, more fire streaming from his heels to increase his speed.

    Light was talking to the officers. It had taken him some time to get to the bank on foot, and he made a mental note of it. It seemed that it wasn't a standard robbery. Definitely supervillain, not small time criminal. "Alright, you leave this to me," he said as he held his gun.

    "Yeah, I know about you and your Scarab. It looks like it a thing out for me, man," Eddie said as the smoke ceased once he realized Blue Beetle was in control. "The name's Ki-er, Red Devil. Don't worry about the horns or anything and I won't worry about that WMD on your back." He gripped his trident, which was tingling, tight. "Look, I've worked with other heroes before. I'm not that famous, but you are. At least in rumors." He grinded his teeth. Plus, I'm supposedly fated to kill you.

    "Nice get up," Kid Flash commented as caught up to and sped alongside Red Robin. His arms swung in opposite rhythm to his legs as both a habit and trick of balance. "Ready to bust some baddies?" He knew his friend probably wasn't. "Maybe save a damsel?" He kept up his jovial attitude, but he was really wondering how many people would be at this crime -- and how many cameras.

    Red X pulled out the small device and stuffed it into his utility belt, kicking the computer to the side as he swung his legs back to the ground and rose from the chair he was in. He was in no hurry at the moment and could easily take as long as he wanted. Besides, his only interest wasn't in the money he had just stolen. He stretched his arms out and looked over at the main entrance sealed off with debris that he had left behind in an explosion. "Guess Gotham's Finest aren't gonna bother with me." He spoke to himself as he stared up at the ceiling of the bank.

    "It has a thing out for half the heroes I meet." Jaime said as he reached his hand out in a sort of greeting towards Red Devil. 'At least he isn't a Lantern. It would've been way harder to stop the Scarab.' He thought to himself. "You can call me Blue Beetle. Sorry about all that." He paused, thinking over what Red Devil had said. 'I'm famous!?' He shouted excitedly in his mind. 'Red Devil means I am well known in the superhero community.' The Scarab responded. "Actually...I think I've heard of someone who had a similar title to yours...was it Blue Devil?"

    "If only," Red Robin said, his voice deeper now than as Tim's. It was something he found himself doing since Bruce and Dick died. While in costume, his voice deepened, though it never happened when he was Robin. "Leave Gotham to me, KF, you can go back to Central City." He rubbed his heels together, causing the fire to stop, though he was still gliding with his 'wings.' He didn't mind slowing down, he knew Kid Flash was slowing down enough. "It's just a bank robbery. Gotham's my turf," he said, almost in a growl as he let go of his wings, causing it to fall as a cape, and aimed a fist at the second level of the bank. A hook shot out, wire attached, and landed through an open window. When the wire went taut, it pulled hard, pulling Red Robin into through the window. It was something he learned from Dick, not Bruce. Surprise your enemies. Don't come in where they expect you to. In fact, the hassle seemed to be either in the basement or the first floor of the bank, so Red Robin was at least one floor up. He started to run towards the stairs, his cape behind him. He knew he would hear the villain before the villain could hear him..or he hoped.

    "Hey, stop!" White Light yelled when Red Robin flew past him. Not even a hello to your comrade? He turned around, seeing a blur of yellow and red. He recognized the symbol before he recognized the person. "Flash?" Then it hit him. "Kid Flash? What are you doing in Gotha-not important. Leave this to the Justice Cadets! No need to throw unneeded heroes to the mix."

    Eddie's teeth grinded again. "Yeah, Blue Devil. He's gone, though. But listen, nice meeting you and everythin' but there's a monster I need to send back to Hell." He turned around and jumped, his wings outspread again. "Put a child lock on that Scarab, will ya?!" He yelled as he flew off.

    OOC: Not much to do with Red X but wait. B|

    BIC:

    Red X kept silent, looking about the main lobby of the bank. He listened in quietly, trying to pick up something other than the sounds of shifting rubble. 'Nothing.' It was quiet...too quiet.

    "Hey!" Jaime didn't take kindly to Red Devil's comment. Wings spread out from his back as he took off into the air after Red Devil. 'I'll show this guy...And why didn't you tell me there was something else we should be worried about!?' Jaime used the jets his armor provided to catch up, dis-activating them when he was beside Red Devil. "El Paso's my turf. So you better tell me whatever you know about this thing!"

    [Jesse Quick]

    As Jesse was walking down the street, a faint sound of sirens reached her ears. She stopped, looking behind her just in time to see a herd of police vehicles careening around the corner, lights whirling and sirens sounding off. Instead of jumping into action, Jesse just simply waited and watched as they headed toward-

    'One block away from Gotham Plaza... The bank. Psh, typical. Everything went on normally for me after my dad died too...'

    She continued to stand there, not going forward or back. Her jaw clenched as she debated whether or not to pitch in and help, or just let it be. Remembering that Wally was at the funeral, and would've received the first signal of trouble, she made up her mind and stepped lightly to the street corner, turning and walking the opposite way of the crime scene.

    "They don't need my help," Jesse muttered, tucking a loose strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "Not today, probably not ever. That's okay with me though. Wally's the better speedster anyways..."

    There was a hint of jealousy on her voice, and maybe she was jealous but she was right. Everyone knew Wally as Kidflash, not just the second Flash's sidekick. When Flash was busy, Kidflash was always called to help out. Her? Not as much. Everyone knew her as Johnny Quick's daughter, nothing more. Not even as Jesse Quick. She was the lesser known of the two, and deep down inside, she remembered when she didn't want to be a hero before all of this happened. She was still in the background now, no one really knew her, but it probably wasn't going to last long. She would have to carry on her father's legacy eventually, whether she liked it or not...

    Lorena was mostly keeping to herself, not looking up when the thugs entered the shop. She would deal with them eventu-

    Suddenly, she was caught off guard when her bowl of noodles was snatched from under her nose by some sort of crackling energy and hurled toward one of the gang members. Her eyes widened as she swiveled in her chair to look to see what in the world happened, and then when she saw, she mentally wanted to slap her forehead. A local hero, here to save her. 'How embarrassing...'

    She thought the boy's getup was strange, but also very intriguing at the same time. One look, she knew sort of what he was capable of; electricity. Her opposite.

    Lorena watched as the teen that got the hot noodles to his face and began to howl, trying to scrape it off his face. Meanwhile, Lorena caught something in the corner of her eye and saw one of the lankier guys reach for his pocket.

    In a split second, Lorena glanced to her left and saw a steaming pot of tea sitting behind the counter. She was going to blow her cover, but she didn't want to be humiliated. She could take care of herself, she'd done so for so long. This boy didn't need to watch her back. After checking to make sure the old couple wasn't watching the situation unfold, she stretched her hand out toward the pot and then pulled her arm back towards her as if she was tugging on something. A stream of tea came out of the spout of the pot, suspended and snaking in the air and following Lorena's arm movements. As if she was holding onto a whip, Lorena drew her arm back and then forward in a snap, sending the hot tea towards the lanky boy's wrist that was reaching in his pocket. It wrapped around his wrist tightly right where his nerves were before Lorena yanked her own arm back after she had a good hold on him.

    The boy was thrown off balance, crashing into the floor as a gun fell from his hand and skidded on the wooden floor toward Lorena. Letting the tea fall to the ground, she snatched up the hand gun and narrowed her eyes as she looked at the other three boys staring at her, eyes wide with fear. Now they sort of knew what she was, they wouldn't be try messing with her.

    Lorena didn't even look at the gun in her hand as she unloaded the bullets into her hand, shoved them in her pocket, brought her right knee up toward her stomach, and then brought the gun down hard on her thigh bone. Not only was she blessed with the ability to control moisture and water, but also with a little of super strength. The gun shattered in half, drawing gasps from her little audience as her brilliant blue eyes were flashing.

    "If you choose to follow me next time, boys... You and your little friends... You follow me down to your Hell..." Her voice was threatening, dark, and even her little accent gave her words some spice.

    The gang had suddenly decided that their target wasn't going to be easy game and bolted to the door, pushing past the hero that tried to intervene. Even the one that Lorena yanked to the floor scrambled up on his feet and made a run for it.

    Seeing that it was over, Lorena sighed and walked to the nearest garbage can, dumping the shattered gun pieces with the bullets from her pocket in it. Wiping her hands off, she then made her way to the counter where she was sitting at, fished in her pocket for a moment before pulling out a wad of money that added up to more than what she ordered , but she felt horrible for attracting that kind of attention to this place, and sat it on the counter. She then walked towards the hero, shoving her hands into her pockets.

    "You owe me lunch," she muttered as she walked past him, not really intrigued to make conversation with him. She was here to look for one hero and one hero only. The guy with the electricity abilities was not that hero. Plus, she wasn't in the mood to make new friends.

    The old couple slowly made their way out of the kitchen right as Lorena walked out of the door, looking around to make sure the hooligans weren't around. They didn't see their customer they were entertaining, but they did see someone standing at the door. Realizing who it was, they spoke to each other excitedly in their own language and came up to him, thanking Static and bowing to him for getting rid of trouble.

    Kid Flash didn't even hear what White Light had said to him; by the time Red Robin had finished telling him to leave, he turned right around and did just that. "Gotham's my turf," he grumbled, mocking what Red Robin had said. "Go do your thing, Rob." But he wasn't really angry with his friend, more like insulted. As he was trying to understand where Red Robin was coming from, he heard someone call out to him.

    "Kid Flash! Wait! Please help!"

    He stopped quickly enough to only have to backtrack a couple of feet to get to the girl who'd called to him. "Hey there, beautiful. If it's mouth-to-mouth you need, I'm all for it."

    Static watched as the girl walked past him and muttered something about lunch.
    He would have had a witty retort, but he was still shocked by what had happened to the hot tea.
    And then, the couple who owned the store were thanking him. "Oh no, it wasn't just me." he told them, scratching his head.
    "Actually though." he pulled out some loose change. "You could get me a take out, whatever that girl was having and some extras." he asked, giving them the change.
    They got it ready, and Static took it, flying out of the store, saying his goodbye and looking for the girl.
    He surfed around high up until he caught sight of her and he flew down just a few metres overhead of her.
    He used his electricity on the take-out bag and lowered it down so it was suddenly hovering just in front of her as she walked.
    Ready for her to take for herself at any time. "Lunch is served, mi'lady." he said, mocking a fake bow as he continued to fly above.

    Minding her own business, and just a block away from her father's memorial, Jesse was almost blown off the sidewalk when a streak of orange, yellow, and red ran past her, suddenly stopping a few yards in front of her. She frowned, realizing who it was. "No other than KF... Guess he wasn't invited to the robbery either."

    Seeing that he was flirting with the citizen that called out for him, she rolled her eyes and decided to just walk around them. With any luck, KF wouldn't notice her and she could be on her way... Crossing the street wasn't a bad idea either, but then again... She figured she would be spotted either way, and there was no way she was going to just turn around and head back the other way.

    Jesse hummed, walking down the street toward the two. She didn't look up, and she moved over to the side of the sidewalk where they weren't standing in her way. Speed would probably come in handy now, but again, it wasn't her day today.

    Lorena's face almost ran into the take out bag that was suddenly hovering in front of her face, but she quickly stopped herself, taking a little hop back. Her eyebrows furrowed since he caught her off guard again, but when she looked up, she saw it was the hero from the little Chinese restaurant. Instead of being offended by the second encounter, she couldn't help but to smile a little.

    "I really didn't mean it," she said as she looked up at him, "but thanks. You didn't have to." Lorena took the bag, watching as the electricity dispersed after she touched it. Although it wouldn't hurt other people at all, Lorena was different. She felt a little shock wave travel up her arm and winced, almost letting go of the lunch. It wasn't the guy's fault, she knew that. They were just polar opposites of each other. She switched hands, letting the tingling sensation fade out of the hand that received the little static shock.

    Looking up at him again, she smiled. "So, if I'm on your turf, I'll be leaving soon. I don't want to get in your way, take your title as hero, and take your crimes. I'm only looking for a friend of mine anyways."

    Static smirked as he dropped next to her.
    "My turf? You make me sound like a gang lord." he laughed with his witty response.
    "You can stay as long as you like." he shrugged.
    "More importantly, I was wondering about what you did at the restaurant." he asked.
    "Are you a Bang Baby? or as some people prefer to call it, a meta-human? I mean... you did something with that tea. What kinda power was that? I've never heard of power of tea before." Static stated as his arms were folded.

    "Waiting for someone?" Red Robin's voice rang through the room as he spun through the air, releasing several shurikens' His original shurikens as Robin were little spinning 'Rs' with yellow edges but Red Robin's had red edges. Four R-Shurikens flew towards the back of the villain. Red Robin landed one knee and quickly tapped his visor, activating his night vision. At least he chose late at night. Nobody's here. Red Robin stood up, his wing-cape wrapped around him in the same fashion that Batman used to wear his, concealing his costume. "Don't you know? Closing time's at 6-Red X?!" A look of surprise broke through his solid expression as he recognized his old costume.

    White Light watched Kid Flash speed off before addressing the officers. "Leave this to the experts. The Justice Cadets have this." He grabbed his gun in a gloved hand and approached the bank. Alright, Max, first job as a Cadet. Don't ruin this. Whole world will be hearing about this.

    Eddie let out a growl as Blue Beetle caught up. "Listen to me, bug, there's a freakin' Demon on the loose somewhere here. Now El Paso may be your turf, but spawn from Hell? They're mine," He held up his trident, causing his wings to fold and for himself to fall. He landed on his toes on the edge of a building, his knees bent. "You ever hear of Demons? No? Because Dan-Er, Blue Devil took care of them and yet no one knows who he is! I'm telling you, Demons are my job. Go...chase a lightbulb or something."

    "Here lies Dinah Lance," muttered Roy as he looked down at the tombstone before him, "Black Canary." His words were drowned out by roar of the rain. Before him lay the one person who was the closest thing to a mother he ever had. Roy took a moment to take in what this all meant before glancing over to the grave next to Dinah's. Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, inside Roy felt a surge of anger along with a mixture of other emotions. "Damn you Ollie, going off and dieing like that. Even in death you leave behind a mess for someone else to clean up. Tell me Ollie. Did you ever truly care?" Of course Roy didn't get an answer. The dead do not speak back. Once again he was alone. This empty feeling he knew all to well.
    Turning his back away from the graves, he walked off. As he left the graves behind him, he knew he wouldn't be coming back. The dead do not come back, so why should he?

    Doctor Hugo Strange sat back comfortably, in his cushioned armchair, while twiddling his thumbs. With a smug grin on his face, he stared down, through his round glasses, at the patient sitting before him. The Villainous Doctor Light. A man who clashed head to head with many a great super heroes and yet never manage to succeed in killing one.
    This 'imperfect specimen', as Strange put it, now sat before Strange with his arms locked into the chair's built-in cuffs. It was common procedure at Arkham to cuff down dangerous patients such as Light, however Hugo wasn't really feeling the cuffs today.
    Should I release him or not? pondered Strange, still staring down at Light. Today is feeling rather dull, perhaps it would excite things a bit.
    Pushing away the thought for now Hugo leaned forward in his chair while grinning broadly. "So tell me, Mister Light. What is it that makes you tic?" Hugo emphasized the word 'Mister' on purpose in order to get a reaction out of Light.

    She chuckled, finding his humor amusing. Aqualad had his own combacks and what not, which she missed. Lorena looked at boy, her eyebrow raised. "Metahuman, or what did you call it...? Bang Baby, I suppose I am," she said as she put her hands on her hips, still holding onto lunch though. "What my powers are, somewhat super strength, telepathy with sea animals alike, and what you saw back there," here she jutted her thumb in the general direction of the restaurant, "I can control the moisture in the air, and any water source. Or as you put it, the power of tea."

    With her free hand, Lorena held a hand out toward the boy smiling friendly, "I'm Lorena Marquez. Or as my friends like to call me, Aquagirl. Friend of the well known Aqualad, and I am a second sidekick of Aquaman. Aquaman is the one who gave me my powers."

    Speaking of her former mentor, now deceased, made her heart twinge a little in sadness. She would forever be in Aquaman's debt. He did save her life after all, and gave her the abilities she had now. The only way she could repay him was to help others, just as he did. That's what she decided after all.

    "Wait? You're Aquagirl? THE Aquagirl?" Static exclaimed.
    "Now it makes sense... I really gotta brush up on my superheroes." he muttered to himself.
    He then smirked as he looked at the girl. "The name's Static. I put a shock to your system." he introduced himself in his trademark way and was about to shake her hand when he stopped himself. "Although... maybe we should avoid shocking and soaking each other's systems respectively." he pondered, knowing all too well the combo of water and electricity.

    Red X spun on his heel and in a blur of motion several flying Xs came out to destroy Red Robin's own projectiles though his own were cut down in the process as well. Under the mask Red X smirked, as if he was happy that his old rival had shown up. "Now, now little birdy, is that anyway to greet an old friend?" He spoke, the Xs on his gloves extending. "I was hoping for a better greeting party. That older Robin would've made things far more interesting." He leapt at Red Robin, bringing down one of his hands at him in an attempt to cut him with the extended X on his glove.

    Jaime-Or...Blue Beetle as he was already suited up, landed beside Red Devil. "Do you want me to knock you down again!? I'm more than capable of smacking you around!" He shouted angrily. The nerve of this guy! It was his hometown and regardless if the enemy was a demon or anything else, he was going to be the one to handle it. "I don't care if it's a demon or Satan himself! If it's in my city I'm the one who's getting rid of it!" He clenched his fists tightly. 'The second demon is nearby, be ready.' The Scarab told Jaime mentally.

    ~~~~~
    Doctor Light snarled as he leaned forward in his chair, glaring hard at the man before him. "The name is Doctor Light, you little worm. You know as well as I that this pathetic prison will not hold me forever. When I break free you better pray that you are not within my sight." He sat back in his chair, quickly regaining his composure. It was humiliating to have been placed in such a lowly structure as this. If he had not had his memory tampered with by the witch he would have never have been captured. "What makes you tick, Hugo?" Doctor Light mockingly responded, purposely addressing the man by his first name to see if he could get a reaction out of it.
    The girl smiled and giggled at Kid Flash's humor. "Uh uh. My cat is just stuck in this tree." Her lips formed the perfect pout. "And no matter what I do, I can't get him down."
    "Your what??" Kid Flash was disappointed. Of all the things that could have been bothering this pretty girl, it had to be a stupid cat in a stupid tree. "Well I --" He stopped, noticing Jesse walking his way. But she didn't look to keen on conversation, and he probably shouldn't act all friendly with her while on this dangerous mission. He looked back to the girl and smoothly picked up where he left off, "I've got time."
    Hugo's smile increased even more as Light spoke. By the end he burst out laughing from the Doctor's comment. Aaaah yes, this will be fun. Hugo thought as he calmed himself down.
    "My my, that's quite a temper we've got there. I suppose they expect me to fix that as well." That last sentence was directed more to himself rather than Light. Hugo chuckled to himself. These so called doctors here were fools to think they could "treat" specimens such as Light. It was in their nature to be ruthless, and Hugo saw no reason to try to change them otherwise.
    Once again Hugo leaned back. With his hands clasped together, he calmly relaxed his chin on top. "Oh believe me Mist- I'm sorry- Doctor Light, I know all too well that this so called prison will not hold you. No, a specimen such as yourself was never meant to be imprisoned like such. I can assure you that things won't be like this for long."
    With that, Hugo's smug smile returned to his face. That's enough said about that. I'll leave the rest to his imagination.
    -------------------------------
    The rain continued to pour in the ruined Star City. Small crime ran a muck nearly 24/7 now-a-days. Ollie truly had left a mess with his death. As Roy made his way down the empty streets, he the cries of children reached his ears. This sound was all too common now. So many had lost their homes in the battle. So many were left dead.
    Just how was one supposed to fix all this? Roy wandered as he closed in on his apartment. Just how does one bounce back from all of this? Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Green Lantern, and even his dear friend Nightwing. All of them were dead. Just how am I supposed to bounce back from all of this?
    Jesse was grateful that KF was barely paying any attention to her as she was getting closer. She did see him acknowledge her presence, but at least he decided to keep himself occupied with the teenage girl. Something about a cat in the tree as Jesse closed in on them. Keeping her head down, Jesse walked on by as if she didn't even notice them, whipping out her phone to "check" for messages from work, or other friends (even though she didn't have any). As she was beginning to cross the street and walk into the shady, overgrown park, she pushed her phone back in her pocket.
    'Thank goodness,' she thought, happy that KF didn't say hi or anything like that to her. She could go on with her day the way she wanted it to without any contact with the other heroes and what not. It would be a quiet day to herself.
    Still... it made her wonder why KF didn't jump into action with the bank robbery, if there was one happening. "Oh well, it's their problem now," she said as walked under the rusty archway of the park and headed to the heart of it.
    "True to that." Lorena let her hand fall to her side, grateful that Static was mindful of her ability and his ability mixing together negatively. "And don't worry about knowing me. It's Aqualad everyone talks about anyways. I was the third wheel... up till now anyways. And also... you do put the shock in the system... Literally." Lorena shook her numbed hand out, getting rid of the pins and needles that were still lingering after that last encounter with lunch.
    Lorena's stomach growled, reminding her that she still hadn't finished her meal. She lifted the sack up, opened it, and rummaged around in it. She couldn't tell what it all was exactly, but she did spot some crab ragoons and egg rolls. There was no way she was going to eat out here in the open though, not after what she almost had to deal with.
    "Listen, Static... Do you know a place where I can "hang out and hang low" at for maybe just this night? I'm kind of low on cash... But I'll pay what I have left though." Sleeping out in the open again wasn't that bad, but she didn't want to keep running into trouble over and over again. She looked over her shoulder briefly, feeling like they were being watched right now, this very minute. It could just be her paranoid mind working against her though. After many months out on the road, she was getting close to loosing hope of ever finding her lost friend and starting to miss the old life she had before the alien invasion happened.
    Static pondered for a second to her question.
    "Well, there is my super hero lair, the 'Static Station'. he told her.
    Normally, it wasn't a good idea to show others your secret lair... but she was another hero. This was different.
    "Come on, I'll show you." he said as he guided her through Dakota... to... an old abandoned Gas Station.
    He knew it must have looked lame in comparison to what she might be use to. "Well... hey, it's not like all of us have a mansion." he joked, referring to Batman who he had met before on occassion, and then realised his joke may have been in poor taste considering the current events of the world... and so he face palmed.
