Plot: In the year 2019, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. I've seen mixed reviews on this. It seems people either really like it, or they really don't. It's got an 8.6/10 on IMDB right now, so I'll probably see it. There's a lot of movies coming out that I want to see, though.
honestly the plague thing is something similar to I am Legend, and the humans as a supply is similar to that of The Matrix. But anyways this looks so good, it might give vampires a good image again until the next twilight movie
The adds are very misleading. the hand picked the clips carefully along with the music for the trailer. I looks like an action thriller when it's actually a horror/thriller. While i liked it, i almost had alot of heart attacks. It has a few laughs aswell. It has alot of blood and gore so if you don't like blood and guts steer away right now.
I was expecting some gore, but not that much. I hate misleading trailers. >< I'll probably have to wait to rent it anyways. I just realized it's rated 18A. My sister's 18, but she's at uni right now soooo I don't have an "adult" to get me in. ;~;
This is SO on my to-do list. So very few vampire stories address the need for blood; it's just a given that it's always there. That, and I'd like to see some American-made nossies that are actually scary for once; Japan's had a monopoly on them for ages.
I giggled through The Ring. I guffawed at the Saw movies. The Grudge was ridiculous. My favourite director is Guillermo del Toro. No movie has ever scared me enough to the point of non-enjoyance (lol new word) except Chuckie, but that's because I have a thing against dolls. >> I can handle it. c:
If the acoustics are good the roars will make you jump for the ceiling. When it gets to a part where they are testing out a blood substitute in an operating room expect....some surprises.
I saw this on Saturday and enjoyed it. I actually laughed at one of the girls in the row in front of me because she jumped at the random bat that flew on-screen a couple times. As for the gore, I didn't pay much attention to it. Besides, I've seen gorier movies than this one in recent years, i.e. 30 Days of Night.
