"I have never been part of any training rituals like that though I have been training in various trades. I guess that I seem useless to you both."

 

"What kinds of trades, sister?"

 

"I can weave, create simple herbal medicines and make clothes. Not a lot of good to you I guess."

 

"No, that's very useful. I'll probably need a new set of clothes for a disguise, and I'm sure your healing skills will be put to use a lot."

 

"I will do my best to help you as much as I can. I'm not much of a fighter though I can defend myself."

 

"I would prefer that you leave all the fighting to me. There's no need to soil yourhands with blood as well, Maiko."

 

"Then I will nurse you and care for you. I want to be the perfect sister for you." Maiko smiled. She had just gone from a lonely wanderer to a sister and friend.

 

Koza just smiled as he looked at her, an action he hadn't done in a long time. He felt like some huge weight had just been lifted off of his shoulders.

 

Maiko grinned and blushed, noticing him smile. "You should smile more often, it suits you." She wondered how often in his life he had smiled. Probably not very often as he seemed to have little to smile about.

 

"I'll have a lot more to smile about once all this is over."

 

"Well I hope you find whatever you are looking for. What are you looking for anyway? I want to be happy and not have to run any more. Settling down would be a dream to me. One day I will achieve this but until then I can dream."

 

"I told you before, I'm serching for the person who framed me for my familys murder. Once I bring them to justice, I'll be able to live my life again."

 

"And if you never find that person? Will you spend your entire life thirsting for revenge? If that is the case then you are as dead as those you seek revenge for. You should celebrate your life as well. Seek this person if you must but don't throw away your life and allow this to consume you. One day you will wake to find that you life is nearly over and you have done nothing of any value."

 

"I know, but this person must pay. Even if I just let it go, I'll end up spending the rest of my life running and killing. I don't want to walk this blood-soaked path any longer."

 

"You are better than that. You say you will live your life after you have killed him or her. Will you though? Will one death be enough? Think about what you just said, are you really seeking the killer or just sating your thirst for blood and death and using the revenge as an excuse?"

 

"Of course I'm really seeking the killer! I;ve never even held a sword until the day I escaped from prison."

 

Kaia smiled at them, laughed. A massager ran up to her, "Lady Kaia of Hikari Village, for you." She read the letter, and turned to Maiko and Koza. "I gotta go, a elder from a different bounty hunter clan asked to take the Trail right now. I'll be back." She ran to her village.

 

"Maybe I should act as your conscience then?" Maiko glared at Kaia. "Whatever you are laughing at probably isn't funny."

 

"I suppose so." Koza said as he hung his head.
