"Let's get back where it is safe. I dislike the idea of you being exposed to unnecessary danger. I would rather that you are secure."

 

"You're right. Let's head back then."

 

Maiko walked swiftly along towards the farm. She wanted to be safe and needed to tell Koza exactly what she had heard. Things were indeed grim. They had much more of a grip than she had suspected and they were in great danger.

 

Koza walked swiftly with her. After a few hours they made it back to the farm as the sun started to set.

"Thank goodness. The roads can be dangerous at night, so I'm glad we made it back before dark."

 

"More than you realise. They have spies everywhere and the town is pretty much in their grip. Everyone lives in fear. They need a hero to free them from the tyranny."

 

"For some strange reason, I think that hero is going to be me."

 

"I have no part to play then? I suppose that's because I'm a woman. I suppose my job is to admire you brother."

Maiko began to laugh. She felt free and wild.

"I have already set the wheels in motion."

 

"What do you mean by that?"

 

"I fed them some misinformation. Don't panic, I know what I'm doing. We are running north apparently!"

 

"Sending our persurers on a wild goose chase, eh? I'd like to see the looks on their faces once they realize how stupid they are!"

 

"You need to relax. I'm not going to betray you. I guess that the best move would be to take advantage of the confusion. Your move I think!"

 

"We should sneak in and take out their commander. Before we do away with him, he may be useful in getting more information on the Hogyoku. If not, he will make a good practice dummy."

 

"You really are quite bloodthirsty at times! I guess that we should try to find out as much as we can. There must be more information that he can give us."

 

"I wasn't thinking of killing him. We'll let the villagers string him up. We can use him as a punching bag for a while if he tries to withhold information."

 

"Ok, but be careful. I worry about you. I have a feeling there is a web of deceit here that stretches up high and reaches many areas of the leadership. I wouldn't be surprised if Most of the ruling class are corrupt or manipulated."

 

"At this point, I'm assuming the whole government is being used as puppets by the Hogyoku."

 

From what I gather that may be accurate. I see that most officials are 'owned' by them and I think their reach goes right to the top. So much for just rule."

 

"Then it's time to topple the chain of command."

 

"We replace it with what? Ourselves? We have to have a stable well thought out plan. Power is all about fairness and justice tempered with mercy. Can we provide that?"

 

"No, not us. I have a good man in mind for the job. He has this idea of a government that's ruled by the people."
