"For now, let's head back to the plantation. I have to tell the workers that they own the farm now."

 

"That sounds great. They will like that a lot and they deserve it. You have a good heart Koza and you are the best of the family."

 

"What family? I don't remember being attached to any big family. I just remember my dear sister."

 

"That's the family that I meant. You are much better than me. Lets solve our problems and get on with our lives."

 

"That's the best idea I've heard all day."

 

"I guess that we need to stop the ones after our heads first. That seems to be the main concern at the moment."

 

"We've got no idea where they are, though."

 

"They have to eat and buy provisions. There are always people who will give us information. It's time I went to join the women and gossip again."

 

"I know you'll be able to find a lot more than I'll be able to."

 

"Well gossiping does get a lot more information. Sometimes you men seem oblivious to our presence and there is a real advantage to that. Women hear a lot of information and pass it around. I guess most men haven't guessed that yet."

bic: "I suppose not. Try not to stay gone too long. I want to get back to the farm before sundown."

 

"Take it easy, I'll be fine. If I'm not back in time, go without me. It's better if you are safe so I know you can rescue me if necessary."

 

"I can't do that. If we get too far apart, the demon in Murasame will awaken, remember? I'll wait for you in the town square."

 

"I won't be long. I will just merge into the crowd. No one ever notices someone who is plain and quiet. You can learn what I have found out when I meet up with you. Just take care of yourself. I don't want to lose my family."

 

"Got it. I'll see you later."

 

Maiko walked off and disappeared into the crowd. Pulling her cloak around her arms to hide her sword she joined a group of women and began to work with them. Soon the air rang with talking and laughter. She listened carefully to everything said and asked subtle questions. Laughing, she waved goodbye and returned to the square where she waited for Koza.

 

"What did you find out?" Koza asked as he walked up to Maiko.

 

"It's nice to see you are safe as well. Here is not the place from what I have learned. I will update you as soon as we get back to the farm. There is a lot going on here."

 

"Is there anything you want to do while we're here, or do you just want to go back now? We've got plenty of time until sunset."
