Maiko breathed a sigh of relief. "I would love to be your sister. I couldn't care less that you are a fugitive. You now have me here."

 

"I'm glad at least someone sees me as a person instead of some bloodthirsty murderer."

 

"I'm sorry I wasn't very friendly at first. I thought you were going to treat me like everyone else does. I would rather know the real you, the nice guy who rescued me."

 

"How does everyone else treat you?"

 

"Mostly I get ignored or chased away. Most people think I've run away from home or am a criminal. My parents are dead so that is why I'm on my own."

 

"Well now you're not alone anymore. You've got a big brother that will take care of and protect his little sister."

 

"You are only just my big brother. You can't be much older than me. I would guess a year or two at most. Please tell me about yourself."

 

"I was only eightteen when I was sent to prison, so that would make me twenty-seven now. I lived a very peaceful life with my parents, until that tragic day."

 

"That's so sad. You lost a big part of your life. I'm really sorry."

 

OCC: Did I miss a lot?

Kaia looked out to the horizon, feeling the wind. She walked to Koza and Maiko. "Let's go out. My village is still up. I'll go through the trail of the hunter. If my clan is gone, then I'll continue to being a bounty hunter. And hunt other bounties. Okay, Koza?"

 

ooc: We are at a farm having worked all afternoon and are about to rest.

bic: "You two go on, I'm tired. Working in the fields is hard and I need the rest. I want to get a good spot to sleep as well, away from the door." Maiko collected Koza and her bowls and took them to be cleaned. She then sat back down sipping the tea.

 

"I'm tired too. We need to rest before heading to the capital."

 

"Whereabouts are you sleeping? I'm in the barn opposite, not luxurious but warm and dry. I don't expect much and am thankful for what I get. You are welcome to join me."

 

"That's fine. Trust me, anything's better than the cell I had occupied."

 

"I am sure there is a compliment in there somewhere if I look hard enough. Never mind, you are more than welcome. I hope you have a cloak or something. You only get one blanket."

 

"I do have a simple cloak. It's got a few holes in it, but it's better than nothing."

 

"You can have my spare cloak. It doesn't have holes and is probably thicker. I wonder how you have managed to survive with such poor equipment. I will have to look after my new brother."

 

"It's hard to get equipment when you're considered as a very dangerous criminal. I'm supposed to be looking after you, though, not the other way around."

 

"Here is a reality check for you. I can help you more than you realise if you are as hunted as you say. Why don't you let me?"
Maiko smiled and patted his arm. "I would love to be there for you."

 

"You already are, Sis."
