"Whoever took her stabbed her in the stomach," Yuki said, wrapping her stomach with a bangage.

 

"He promised to put right the sins of the past and help me find the truth about what happened. He said he owed you a great debt. He wanted to be worthy in my family's eyes to marry me." Maiko collapsed crying.

 

Koza knelt down and tried to console Maiko.

Rest in peace, Takahiro.

 

"Help Kyo. One death is enough and any more will break me. She has to live. Do you forgive him Koza?"

 

Neka started to cry with Maiko. "I'll fulfill his promise for you! I'll find out about the truth of your family!"

 

"I forgive him." Koza said solemnly.

 

Neka sat next to Yuki, watching Kyo sleep. She sighed.

 

Maiko curled on the floor of the barn and hugged her knees. She only had Koza left as family and her world was falling apart. She decided that she would avenge his death.

 

"Hey, Koza," Neka said. "Kyo need yours help. Call a doctor."

 

"There aren't any doctors in the area. The closest one is a mile away, we'd never make it in time."

Koza opened up a false bottom in his sword handle and pulled out a small vial.

"Apply this on her wounds. That will patch her up sufficiently until we can get her to the doctor in the morning."

 

Neka took the vial, she whispered a quiet 'thank you', she gently applied to all of her sister's wounds. Then she yawned and fell asleep.

 

Koza covered Maiko up with his cloak. He went back to where he was sleeping earlier and went back to sleep.

 

Kyo was sleeping, like Neka and Koza, but she was having a dream. She stood in a bare ground, in front of her was a person, she wasn't sure who it was.

But the person was attacking Koza, she wanted to help him, but she couldn't move. The person was killing everyone she knew now, she screamed. That's when she woke, feeling a lot of pain.

"Kyo, Neka's took care of your wounds," Yuki said. "Sleep, rest. You'll need it."

 

Maiko had cried herself to sleep and was curled in a pile of straw.

 

Kyo went back to sleep.

Yuki was the only one awake, but soon he fell asleep next to Neka.

 

Koza woke up early the next morning and walked outside to get some fresh air. He got some blankets to wrap Takahiros body in and started digging a hole.

 

Neka woke up and watched Koza bury Takashiro's body. "I'm sorry, Koza. I really am."

 

Maiko went to help Koza. "It seems that he is helping bring us together in his own way. I will miss him."

 

"So will I. I regret that I wasn't able to tell him in person that I forgive him."

 

"Lets go." Neka picked Kyo and walked away.
