"Well stop worrying and rest. I won't have you hurting yourself and opening your wounds. We are not there to help so we should just wait and see what happens."

 

"I guess you're right. Wake me when they get back." He said as he closed his eyes.

 

Takahiro gestured for them to move into the the thickets. There was movement ahead and he guessed it wasn't wild animals. He knew that the next few moments would be critical.

 

Neka held out her bow and a arrow, waiting for a enemy.

 

Takahiro moved in and attacked the demon that was stood with it's back to him. He realised that it was heavily armoured too late. It turned and spat acid in his face, blinding him and proceeded to run him through with a sword. He struggled to get to his feet.

 

Neka shot her arrow at the demon, Yuki ran to Takashiro to help him.

 

"Keep going. I will distract the demons so that you can rescue Kyo. Tell Maiko that I love her and that I'm sorry I broke my promise."

 

"No! You can tell her yourself!" Yuki found some plants and made a healing herb. "Drink this, it will restore your sight."

Neka ran off, continuing along the trail.

 

"No, you must keep it in case Kyo needs it. Let me save the rest of you. Now go, Kyo needs you. I will keep them away from you and give you time."

 

Yuki followed Neka along the trail, he gasped when he saw Kyo lying unconcisous, stabbed in the stomach. He picked her up and ran to Koza.

Neka helped Takashiro up as she walked back.

 

Takahiro collapsed and lost consciousness. He slipped further into the darkness until he felt no more.

 

"Don't you die on us!" Neka said, turning into a cat and ran with Takashiro on her back.

 

ooc: He is going to die. Please let this storyline run.

Takahiro couldn't hear them. He heard nothing and never would again. His last breath exhaled and he passed into the shadows of death.

 

Neka turned to a human, and carried Takashiro in her arms. She looked at Maiko, sadly. "Maiko, I'm sorry, we were attacked by a demon, it shot him with a acid. He told us to say he loves you and sorry he failed to keep his promise."

 

Maiko stood silent and started to shake. She didn't know what to say. Running to the body she began to cry and clung to it. "It's not fair!"

 

Koza woke up. "What isn't fair? What happened?"

 

"Takashiro died while we were finding Onee-chan." Neka hung her head. "I'm sorry."

"I made a herb to help him, but he refused it." Yuki laid Kyo down, and gave her some of the herb.

 

Maiko just stared at him, tears streaming down her face. She was distraught beyond words.

 

Neka shook with anger. "I promise, I swear, over Takashiro's body, I'll kill whoever took Onee-chan! For you, Maiko!"

 

Koza raised uo and hugged Maiko. "It's alright, sis. I'm here for you."
