"What else don't I know and when were you going to tell me? When I am next in danger? I don't think I can cope with much more of this. Why couldn't you have just left me alone?" Maiko began to cry.

 

"Because you're the only family I've got left." He said as tears poured down from his face again.

 

Maiko put her arms around him and hugged him against her. "You really can't cope with being alone. Maybe I am more use than I thought. You need me now I guess to be the family."

 

"Thanks....." Koza said before passing out.

 

Maiko carried him back to the disused house and bolted them in. She made him as comfortable as possible. She lay next to him and rested with him nearby in case he woke and needed her.

 

Koza opened his eyes slowly. "Where are we?"

 

"In an old disused house. I brought you here to rest. Don't you remember?" Maiko checked his wounds.

 

"Yeah, I remember....Thanks for sticking around."

 

"I guess you need a family now and I guess I fit that description. I need to know everything though. No lies any more."

 

"Agreed. I won't keep any more secrets from you."

 

"What am I going to do about Takahiro? I guess he was happy to betray me after all."

 

"Leave him if you want. To be honest, the guy's annoying. He barely knows how to wield a sword, too."

 

"And everyone else is a model of bravery and honesty? He did try to attack first."

 

"No....Aw forget it. Just do what you want to do about him."

 

"You really hate him, don't you? I guess he is a lot like you in many ways so like tends to hate like. Just give him another chance, ok."

 

"Alright. If you say so, I'll do it. You're the elder, after all."

 

"I am? I have no idea how old I am as I don't know my real birthday. Another mystery in my rubbish life. My birthday was the day they got me, the day I was abandoned."

 

"You were born a few minutes before I was. We're both 27, but you're still the elder."

 

"We are twins? That is great, but I don't want to be the oldest. When is my birthday then? My real one that is. Can I be your little sister?"

 

"You can if you want to be sis. Our birthday is in a couple of weeks."
