"I think you are being hard on yourself. She needs someone to sympathise with her and understand. I think she just needs a little attention."

Koza reluctantly got up and sat down next to Maiko.

"What's wrong, sister?"

 

"My life is as good as over."

 

"I once thought that way....You can make a new life for yourself, I'm sure. You just have to have a little faith in yourself."

 

"Once I dreamt of getting married. Not I seem to only have survival. Is it enough?"

 

"It will be for now. Soon, you'll be able to fulfill all your desires. Just remember that if you need anything, feel free to ask me, I won't turn you away. After all, I've been through the same stuff you're going through."

 

"What were our parents like? I never knew them. Tell me what I missed."

 

Koza sighed.

"Mother was very beautiful and kind. She always told me that she regreted leaving you behind, but father insisted that it was for the better. Father was always kind of a jerk. He was very stubbron, but he was an honorable man. It's a shame that you never got to meet them. You would have liked them....well you would have liked mother, anyway."

 

"I'm probably nothing like them. My 'parents' were cruel and cold. They saw me as free labour, fed me as Little as possible and took out their anger on me."

 

"It must have been terrible for you. I do have a picture of your real parents if you want to see it."

 

"I would like to see it if only to see I look like either of them."

"I'm sure you would be like your mother."

Koza pulled out a locket and opened it. Inside was a picture of their mother and father. He handed it to Maiko.

"Thank you. I have nothing of them, so I never feel I really belong anyway. I am still the same Maiko that you met, but a lot sadder. It's not easy being the rejected one."

 

Kyo smiled at them, "Happy now, Maiko?"

 

"What planet had you been on lately? I just found out that everyone lied to me and deceived me, and I was rejected as a baby and handed over to psycho parents. Oh, I ecstatic with joy! What do you think?"

Maiko turned her back on the room and sobbed.

 

Kyo just sighed, 'It's hard to just accept the truth, sometime.'

 

"Well sadly I don't have the charmed background that you do. Things have turned out bad for me. Reality check lady. Just stop annoying me!"

 

"My life isn't what you think, I spent everyday training to become a bounty hunter."

 

"Well booyah and bully for you! I just discovered my entire life is a lie. Sorry, but if you are looking for sympathy I'm all out at the moment, just like you it seems."
