Akira blushed heavily as he walked outside.

 

Kyo found Neka and looked ready to kill her, but she grabbed her and walked back.

 

Akira took a little stroll around the capital to clear his head.

 

Maiko stopped at a tea shop, looking at all the different dried teas and utensils. Takahiro loved tea so she would take him a gift of his favourite tea. This afternoon he was working. Trying to protect the townsfolk from the Minister. Things were definitely looking up for her as she had at last met a wonderful man who appreciated her.

 

Akira came across a temple, so he went inside to pray for a while.

 

Walking towards the square, Maiko watched as people ran out of the road. Something was coming and the road needed to be cleared. Soldiers appeared and in their midst was a covered carriage . Someone mentioned the name 'Minister Uzuki'.

 

Akira left the temple and saw a carridge go by. He barely caught a glimpse of minister Uzuki.

What should I do?! I can't attack now, that would cause too much trouble for me....

He clenched his fist in anger, but did not persue the carridge.

 

Maiko shrank back into the crowd so she wouldn't be noticed. This was the cruel Minister they had talked about. She moved swiftly back to the Inn and locked herself in her room.

 

Akira walked back to the inn.

I highly doubt he saw me, but I best be prepared for anything....

 

Maiko was scared. There was bound to be something bad happening from this. She wondered if Akira saw it as well. She felt sick as she thought about the consequences.

 

Akira sighed as he entered his room. He flopped down on the bed and tried to think about what to do next.

 

Burying her head in her arms Maiko began to sob. She knew that no matter what the outcome, there would be trouble and heartache and Akira was in the middle of it.

 

A few tears fell from Akira's face.

What should I do? I know I have to put an end to that monster Uzuki, but I'm afraid.....What if I end up becoming just like him?

 

Maiko left her room and knocked on Akira's door. She had to talk to him about this.

 

Akira wiped his eyes as he unbarred the door.

"Something wrong, sister?"

 

"I need to talk to you about today and the future. I'm scared something terrible is going to happen and I will lose something or someone precious to me. Promise me that won't happen. Please Akira, promise me!"

 

"I promise...no, I swear my life on it."

 

Maiko was crying again in huge sobs. She collapsed to the ground.

 

Akira knelt down and hugged Maiko.

"I'll make sure nothing will try to take your happiness away."

 

"You're going after him, aren't you. I saw where he lives and I understand enough to know how dangerous that is. I'm scared my brother."
