"Everyone is real suspicious of me. Some of the drunks even called me by my true name. Did you find anything out about Minister Uzuki?"

 

"I hope you didn't answer to your true name. Minister Uzuki lives in a select area north of the city in what is effectively a fortified estate. He is well guarded but Takahiro is showing me the sights tomorrow and that area is in the tour. He is showing me all the splendors of the capital. Once I know exactly where it is I can tell you. That way you won't have to search. Apparently he is feared by many people, including Takahiro."

 

"With good reason, I'm sure. That coniving serpent would do anything to ascend to the throne, even kill all who stand in his way, like my father...."

 

"I understand. Just don't hurt Takahiro, who is innocent and is trying to help everyone survive. If anything happens to him you will have me to deal with."

 

"As long as he dosen't attack me, he'll be fine. If he does attack, I will defend myself."

 

"Ok, but try not to kill him. I like him a great deal."

 

"I'll try not to. I only plan on killing one more person and that's going to be minister Uzuki."

 

"From what I could work out Takahiro would probably join you given a chance. He certainly won't stop you. Apparently Minister Uzuki ordered the death of a lot of innocent people. I was told to avoid the man himself."

 

"He'll pay for his crimes. I'll have to meet this Takahiro. He sounds like a good person."

 

"Takahiro is a really good person and I'm sure you'd like him. I want to know him better and as I'm just your sister it won't matter to you."

 

"Just remember, if I find out that he's hurt you in any way, he's going to regret it."

 

"Just don't interfere as I want to be happy. Would you deny me that happiness?"

 

"No, I would never deny your happiness. I just don't want to see you hurt."

 

"Do you always look on the dark side of everything? You were in love once, can you remember how you felt? I feel like that now."

 

"I'm going to bed now. Goodnight." Akira siad as he stood up and left the room.

 

I guess I said the wrong thing. I can't tiptoe around him though. "Goodnight Akira." Maiko shut the door behind him, sliding the bolt and climbing into bed. She fell asleep dreaming of living in the capital.

 

Akira locked the door to his room behind him and flopped down on the bed. He fell asleep, wondering if he would ever find happiness again.

 

Maiko woke early and rushed to get ready for the day out. Takahiro was working in the afternoon so they only had the morning. She couldn't help but wonder how Akira had slept. When she was ready she went outside to find Takahiro already waiting for her. She left with him and didn't look back.

 

Akira awoke and washed up. He went out to get a quick bite to eat.

 

Kyo walked to Akira and Maiko with Neka nearly drunk on her back. "Hey......"
