Akira sat in his seat, pondering over what Kenshi had told him.

Minister Uzuki is going to be hard to get at, but at least I have a name and a face for the one responsible for that crime.....

 

Maiko stared at her feet. It seemed that he was closer to solving his quest and then he would move on and she would go back to being a farm hand. So much for dreams.

 

Akira looked over at Maiko.

Something really seems to be bothering her....Why dosen't she tell me?

 

Maiko looked up and saw Akira staring at her. "What? Do I have something on my nose?"

 

"It just seems like something's been bothering you."

 

"Well to be honest you have."

 

"In what whay have I been bothering you?"

 

"Can't you guess or do I have to spell it out for you?"

 

"I haven't got the slightest clue. Just tell me."

 

Maiko blushed. "Dammit Akira, I like you, a lot. Do you understand?"

 

"I like you a lot too. But right now, I'm not interested in love. And besides, you're my sister."

 

"Fine. So that is how it is and will always be. I guess I asked for that."

 

"Is that all that's bothering you, or is there anything else you want to tell your big brother?"

 

"isn't that enough, or do you want more. I can't believe you." Maiko got up and went to leave. She felt that he was laughing at her.

 

"Don't leave. I just wanted to make sure nothing else was bothering you."

 

"I can't stop at the moment. I need to go for a walk."

 

"Alright, just don't run off."

 

Maiko walked out of the audience "As if you'd really miss me" she muttered. She walked into the town proper and enjoyed the noise and the bustle as people went about their business. This was much better.

 

Akira sat there, deep in thought as he watched the play.

 

Maiko bought some provisions and enjoyed the busy atmosphere. Here she could lose herself and forget the turmoil in her life.
