Dawn of the Samurai

"Lets go, Akira!" Neka ran to the capital, in her cat form.

 

Akira walked along as he held his nose to stop the bleeding.

 

Maiko stopped at the outskirts and waited for them. She got a clean rag and offered it to Akira. "I'm sorry that I hit you so hard. I tend to react if struck. Let me see teh damage please."

 

"Onee-chan!" Neka turned into a human.

"Hey, Neka and I are lead roles in a play," Kaia said. "We better go to practice. What happened to you?"

 

"We had a little fight, but we're ok now." HE said as he let go of his nose.

 

"Well, that's okay....." Kaia started to walk with Neka to the teacher. "Find a good seat, to watch the play, alright. I was worried about you."

 

"I would love to see your play. Just let me see to my brother first." Maiko dabbed gently at his nose and as she did her hand stroked his face. She blushed and gave him the cloth before looking away.

 

Kaia just read her script, she was the main heroine, a bounty hunter, like herself.

"This will be great, onee-chan!" Neka looked up at her and smiled.

 

"Let's go find a seat." He said, holding the cloth against his nose.

 

"Okay, here goes nothing." Kaia sighed as she walked on stage.

 

"Alright" she muttered. She found it uncomfortable to be too near him. She sat on the bench at the very end and waited for the performance to begin.

 

The curtain rose and Kaia walked out on stage. She looked around, and looked up.

"Oh, please, gods. Give me strength to destroy the demons, but forgive me when I do!"

 

Akira sat down. He wondered if Maiko was mad at him about something, but didn't give it to much thought as he watched the play.

 

Maiko looked at him and smiled. He really had no idea. She smiled to herself and sat back to enjoy the play.

 

Kaia, who was Sango, walked into the forest when she saw a cat demon sitting by herself. "Who are you, demon?"

"Please, don't hurt me, hunter! My name's Rina. Spare my life, please!" Rina bowed at Sango.

 

Maiko watched with interest. She didn't know this play and wanted to know the entire story. Akira was too stupid to notice the truth anyway.

 

Sango and Rina walked through to town, holding hands. As they entered, some people noticed Rina was a demon. Some were ready to attack, but Sango blocked each attack. She took Rina to a cemetery and they stayed there for a while. The curtain closed and everyone got ready for the next act.

"Nice work, onee-chan!" Neka smiled at her big sister.

 

Maiko applauded politely with the others when the first act ended. She really was enjoying the show.

 

Akira walked outside to get some fresh air at the intermission. A hooded man bumped into him.

"So sorry, sir."

Akira grabbed the man by the collar. "Give my wallet back, Kenshi."

Kenshi quickly turned around and looked at Akira with shock.

"Ko-" Akira quickly covered Kenshi's mouth. "It's Akira now."

"Sorry. What are you doing here, Akira?"

"Right now, I'm enjoying a play."

"That's nice. I've got some information on your family's murderer."

"Do tell."

"Rumor has it that Minister Uzuki ordered their execution."

"Uzuki?! He was my father's friend for years....Why would he do something like this?"

"Your father was the only man standing between Uzuki and the throne."

Kenshi handed Akira his wallet. "I'd better be going."

"Take care of yourself, Kenshi." Akira siad before walking back into the theater.

 

Maiko looked concerned when he returned but said nothing. He seemed to have a talent for finding trouble and she had no doubt he had found some in that short time.
