"Oh Koza, I was joking. You need a hug, did you know that?"

 

Koza smiled and said nothing.

 

Maiko hugged him and grinned. "So you do smile occasionally. I must be honoured to see this event!"

 

"You know, not many can make a demon smile." He said jokingly.

 

"Then I will try to make him a happy demon. Perhaps he needs a demoness? I could play matchmaker!"

 

"Just be careful. This demon is very picky."

 

"Is that a challenge?" Maiko's eyes lit up. She wondered what sort of woman Koza liked. Beautiful, she guessed intelligent as well. Maiko might find someone in the capital good enough for him.

 

"You bet it is."

 

"Do I get any clues or hints? Anyone not like me then."

 

"Now if I gave you any hints, it wouldn't be much of a challenge. You'll just have to guess."

 

"Well I guess not me so I'll go the opposite way. Someone small and delicate."

 

"You're getting warmer..."

 

"Someone tiny , delicate, needs looking after and rich. A hard one then."

 

"Now you're veering off course. I really don't care about wealth, and as far as needing to be looked after, I like them to have some self-reliance."

 

"Well you can't mean like me! I guess you mean like Kaia. She seems very self reliant and she certainly fits your description so far."

 

"Possibly, but that's all I'm going to tell you. You'll have to guess the rest on your own."

 

Maiko thought about this. She was not sure now but guessed it couldn't be her as he called her 'sister'. It therefore had to be Kaia.

 

Koza started whistling a little tune as he walked along.

 

'Well at least he's more cheerful, even if he if teasing me and laughing at me.' Maiko walked quietly with her head slightly bowed.

 

"Why are you bowing your head? Did I upset you or something?"
