PODCASTS where members that have a mic can talk new games that are coming out, news about games. And where they can answer people questions about any games. This should be used when we get more members though.

awards thing where memebers would get nice awards for doing best member of the month, news poster of the week, ect..

When you make a thread there should be a thing like When you enter a thread title the system will search for similar threads which have already been posted. I know there is way since I have seen it on a forum I am on.

What about a KH-vids.net Toolbar? you know where people can keep up with info

There should be catagorys for the RPG sections. Like Wars, epic and all that other stuff.

People have tried to do that before. But this site is just full of kids that have school and such and cant be to committed to it.

We already have an annual award ceremony that takes place in september I believe.

That might be a good idea. But similar threads doesnt mean they are the same. I.E. Favorite KH character & Favorite KHII character. Smimlar but not the same, see?

We have a whole section dedicated to news. And the front page is always updated.

The RP section is pretty split up as it is. Anything more would just be overdoing it.

I actually thought a Podcast would be nice. Sadly, I doubt many could really do it. If I had a mic I would do it myself, though, if no one else is doing it.. Not much of a podcast can be made at present however since there's little KH news. It'd most be other news and random discussion (like KHI's first podcast). But Podcasts would get better over time so it COULD work.

Already have an awards system. KHV Awards Of The Year event. Happens every fall/winter (I think fall).

I've seen that too. It is on a different KH forum (kh-3dotnet I believe). Using such tools only makes the system lazier, though, imo. Members should be aware to look out. It wouldn't hurt however.

99% of the active members on KHV visit here constantly (or at least once a day/week). Using a toolbar would be pointless and could reduce activity (and overall make the news system MUCH lazier). If they want info they can just come to the main site or view the latest news in the forum itself.

As for the other stuff, like RP stuff, I know little about, so I won't comment on those. The majority of the additions sound nice, though. =) I've been seeing that stuff over all sorts of KH forums and thought of suggesting this myself.

Well I thought we did, but I dont see it anymore. I guess they took it away when we got the new skin.

 

Nah, not anymore. There was, I think...back before we changed the layout for the two-year anniversary.

By the way, if you have an iGoogle page, you can add a KHV RSS feed, and that's how I manage to keep up with recent things without actually being here sometimes.

Yeah, we had one a while back. I think DS or spdude removed it. Not that we could really utilize it anyway; never saved our scores.

 

And the one time it did the _ character in the username of the person with the highest score broke it. And that happened right after I noticed it was there in the first place. Tell you the truth, I sort of forgot we had it in the first place.

 

The games were kind of fun and entertaining, even if they never recorded scores. Mine weren't that great anyway so I didn't mind. lol I hope they will bring them back sometime. They were good for distractions while I did homework.

As for the suggestions here, I think all of them were brought up before and denied for various reasons. The Podcast idea is a good one but sadly no one has the time to keep it really consistent as we are all either in school or college or work, so it's kind of hard to maintain it.

The RPG section already seems pretty well divided so I don't really think it needs to be changed more but then again I only really play in one RPG so it doesn't affect me much.

There is a search function on the site that does this to some degree, though of course it will bring up threads that are at all related to what you put in. I do not know if they could make it more refined than that or not to just say, include a search for only one forum area instead of the whole board. I don't think so though.

podcasting, as well as a chatroom will not happen, for the reason, we cannot control what happens there.


I like the idea for the rp section though, I will work on getting something done with that, just give me some time.
