This game..is so addicting I can't stop myself from playing it, it's even more addicting than Dragon's dogma (which was extreme for me, I new game+'d that 7=8 times) I haven't new game+'d DS2 yet but I plan to do more than new game + it

I'm actually pretty interested in getting both Dragon's Dogma and DS2. Which do you think I should get first?

Seriously you guys. There are like six battles that I've only been able to win by stripping down naked because I'm too slow in my armor.

Actually, as long as you're below like 17% of max encumbrance you get the same roll because your weapons and stuff probably do put you out of the 8% roll and definitely out of the 0% roll.

Depends if you're new to a dark souls game or not. If you've already played the first one I reccomend getting Dragon's dogma first for a change of pace (plus the story line is incredible) If you're new to both I'd say get Dark souls first then get dragon's dogma though Dragon's dogma is really cheap (I'd reccomend getting dragon's dogma: dark arisen cause it has a separate expansion storyline ) but yeah that's my opinion. I'm at drangleic castle now and boy I won't lie I'm having a pretty hard time without an ally. Having to summon people to help me makes me want to slap myself but I guess that'll be how it is

Never played Dark Souls but Demon's Souls taught me that any problem that can't be faced head on can be faced from a snipers nest with a quiver of arrows that weighs more than you do.

Dragon's Dogma, easily. Get Dark Arisen though as it comes with all the previous DLC and a whole new dungeon to explore. It also fixes some things people complained about in the original version.

Dragon's Dogma is probably my favorite RPG solely for the amazing combat system. It's so good. It's fast paced with really fun boss battles that let you climb all over these huge griffons and dragons. Speaking of dragons, DD has the best dragon fights in ANY GAME, EVER. At the start you have to pick your class, BUT once you hit a certain level (I think it's 10?) you're free to switch around any class you want whenever you want. You're never chained down. If you play as a magic user and you decide it's not for you, go back to the city and switch to a rogue or a knight. There are 9 classes in the game total and they're all fun to play.

The game has a really interesting mechanic in the form of 'pawns' which are basically player created companions. Everybody gets to make one and they'll be with you through the whole game. The cool thing is, as long as you have an internet connection you can upload your pawn every time you rest at an inn. AND you can rent other player created pawns. People can rent out your pawn and take them along their journey and when they do you'll get Rift Crystals which will let you rent out better/higher level pawns and even buy some in-game goodies.

Now, the reason the pawn system is so neat is because the game's character creator is AMAZING. It's seriously one of the best I've ever seen. You can make just about any kind of character you could want, same for your pawn. I've spent a fair share of hours just ****ing around in the creator just to make all kinds of characters.

I will admit the game is not without its faults. If you're a story enthusiast when it comes to video games you might disappointed. It is an interesting story, but it's not really the focus of the game and isn't told very well and just kind of serves as a purpose to move you through the game. Additionally, some quests can be easy to miss and you can get locked out of some if you advance too far in the story.

Dragon's Dogma is a flawed gem but it's a really great RPG with an amazing combat system and I couldn't recommend this game enough to anybody.

Dark Souls taught me that a lot of people who think they're really good at video games are actually really bad.

You can can be good at video games in general and still be bad at certain games. The way I see it, the closest you can get to being good at Dark Souls is sucking at it less than you're supposed to. That's been my experience in Dark Souls so far anyway. Really? Still, I don't roll all that much. The last "boss" that I fought (the Titanite Demon before Darkroot Garden) was beaten primarily by disengaging my lock-on and sprinting around to its back.

That said, can't I just use a Datenrobo?

There are a lot of people who are good at Dark Souls. The most important thing is to learn the fundamental technical stuff like parry and roll frames as well as memorize the spawns and drops.

Rolling is the only reason to go light because the way it works is each roll takes the same amount of time in roll but startup and end lag change. More importantly the invincibility frames change depending on the roll weight. The lighter the roll the more invincibility you get. Best roll in my opinion that balances armor class and lightness is the 25% roll which you can get pretty easily with the thief set and/or the Havel's Ring and a wanderer's set. I assume you're running a lot, but it's bad in close combat because it's slower at burst range and not invincible. Later bosses will punish running a lot more.

Also, you should have just fought it from down the stairs, only two of it's melee attacks go vertically so it'll attack mostly above you and the two that don't go that way are super easy to read. It's much easier.

    Finally, what is a Datenrobo?

Actually, the people who I know that are good at Dark Souls use it as evidence they're good at video games in general and just can't step in the ring.

And? Being good at Dark Souls won't help you in any game unless it plays like Dark Souls
