The Rising Storm Opening Scene Spoiler: Opening Scene Setting: A well moonlit field at the mid of the night. The skies are clear yet thunder rolls in the background. A lone warrior lies in the field, as the moon shines brightly beyond. Surrounding the warrior is nothingness, engulfing him in many thoughts. Warrior: *Gazing at the stars* I’ve fought many wars, and won most of them. The battles I have seen were filled with bloodshed, enough to rain for years. My mind is full of memories, lessons of a lifetime. As so it always would, my time in this world is over. *Closes his eyes* My end draws near oh Gohdon, but with my dying breath I leave behind the means for another to take place. I can only pray that is enough for the storm that approaches. Narrator: And as the mighty warrior spoke to Gohdon, the “higher being” of this realm, a small glimmering spark arose from the depths of his soul. This spark did not know it, for it could not know, but its journey would take it far away from, not only that very field, but from the time in which it was birthed. Time passes on. The seasons change. The people change, and their ideals with them. This journey starts some thousand years into the future. And on this day, a miracle would occur. Act 1: Scene 1 Spoiler: Act1: Scene 1 Setting: A bedside in a small hospital. A woman lies in the bed having just given birth to twins. The woman is crying as the doctors turn their heads in sympathy. Wrapped in blankets, two would be miracles lay beside her, one boy and one girl. Doctor: I am very sorry ma’am; there isn’t much we could do. There is a reason there aren’t any twins in this world. Narrator: You see, in this world, twins aren’t capable of survival. At birth the mother gives a piece of her soul to her child. In the case of twins it is no different. Each twin would receive half a piece of soul. What would normally be enough for a person to survive on is separated in half. Without either one having the whole piece, neither could survive. Mother: I don’t care what you say! Do something! Save them! You’re a Doctor aren’t you? Save them! Please! *places her hand over her mouth* Doctor: *Looks to nurse* Call it. Nurse: *Checks watch* Time of de- Narrator: At that instant a shimmering spark, tired as it was, blew in from the window. It instantly recognized the twins as appropriate hosts for itself. Though it became confused on which one it should choose. In the confusion it made a hasty decision as there wasn’t much time. It split itself in half and each half entered a child. Nurse: -ath One O’clock A.M., July first. This is a sort of joke, if you know my old user name you'd know why. Doctor: Wait! *checks the babies* did you see that!? Th-they’re moving! They’re alive! *smiles and holds the babies up to the woman* Mother: *Graciously takes the two babies who are now full of life* You . . . You are my two little Knights. You both pulled through even when everyone else said you couldn’t. That’s it! *Looks at the Doctor* I would like to name them both now. * Doctor: *Nods* Mother: *looks at the boy* You, I give to you this day the name Nights, for the stars in the sky you were born under. *looks at the girl* And you, I give to you this day the name Night of Nights, for the brother you will look after and the stars in the sky you were born under. I am your mother, and I just want to say . . . Hello, and welcome to this world. *smiles* Narrator: Sadly this miracle would not last long. Several months after the Mother returned home, with both her children, Father showed up. You see Father is a very sinister man. He is known far and wide for the evil acts that he commits. I know what you’re thinking; no he isn’t the father of the two twins. The Mother was remarried after her original husband died many years ago. Father’s name, as it would happen, is in fact Father. Mother: Please, why are you taking my children away from me! They’re not even yours! Father: I thought I was being pretty fair, I had thought of taking them both. *points to the girl* But out of kindness I will leave you one. This one will be going with me. Say your goodbyes and prepare it for departure. Mother: *With a solemn look she whispered into the girl’s ear as she picked her up from her crib* I’m sorry, please don’t hate me. Father: *takes the child and leaves* Mother: *Crying, returns to the boy* Nights, one day you will meet your sister again. You have to save her from that wicked man. It looks like you will be the one looking after her. Narrator: And so the two were separated. Yet something still kept them together. The spark that had split in two and gave them both the whole piece of soul they needed would connect them throughout their lives. Some Things Spoiler: Some Things Alright, so I got bored in classes and decided to revamp an old story based on an RP. Not all of these characters are mine and I'll be giving credit where credit is due. First of all, credit for Mother and Father goes to NightofNights, more commonly reffered to as NoN. As you could probably already guess, credit for NightofNights goes to her as well. That's it so far but more credits will be dealt in the future. Stay tuned for more suspenseful stuff that will make you give me your moneys . . . die of anticipation . . . want to read more. Oh, two more things. One this is technically a fanfic and not an original story since the characters are not all original. Two, i'm using the clickable spoiler method to save scroll time later on since everything is divided up into scenes and I may upload one or two scenes every day (more than likely just one)
Act 1: Scene 2 Spoiler: Act 1: Scene 2 Setting: A dark alleyway in a shady part of town. A single neon sign flickers over a door. The rain has just stopped, and the ground is still drenched. Nights: *Being thrown out the door* Ah! Narrator: Our journey takes us a few years into the future. Nights has grown up, and is soon to begin his journey. Man: *Stands in the doorway* I told you not to come back here kid. You’re gonna get me in serious trouble. Nights: I’m sorry, it’s just . . . *pause* . . . I just needed to try and find someone. I thought maybe someone in there could tell me where she is. Man: *Sighs* It always comes down to a girl. What is she, your sister? Nights: *Laughs* Maybe, if there’s one I don’t know about. No, she’s my childhood friend. I heard she had gotten into some trouble so I figured I would swing by and look into it. Man: *Sighs again* Well, what’s her name? Nights: *Confused* Huh? Man: What’s her name? Look, I’ll get the word out for ya. She means a lot to you doesn’t she? Nights: *Smiles gently* Yea, she does. Thank you. *Shakes his head* Sorry, yea, her name is Lunara. Man: That’s one odd name. Nights: *Laughs* She’s an odd girl. Man: I’ll get the word out. *Goes back inside the building and closes the door* Nights: *Stands up and dusts himself off* Where are you, *Exits the alleyway* Luna? There aren’t any increases in uniform activities. Boss: So! What does it mean? Thug1: Well, that’s what I’m here about. *Looks around* There’s word going around the men, sir. They’re talking of a ghost. A shadow taking down sections, groups of our men at a time. One says he encountered the shadow. He said the shadow asked about a girl. Boss: *Breaks into a sweat, then gulps down the remainder of his drink* Son-of-a . . . He’s coming then? Thug1: N-No sir! I-I-I’m afraid he’s already here. *A single gunshot goes off just before he drops to the floor* Lunara: That’s she, with an S. *Walks into the light* Boss: *Reaches for a concealed gun* Lunara: *Pulls back the hammer of her gun and aims for the Boss’ head* Don’t even try it! Boss: *Places his hands on the desk and folds them together* Is there something you want? Name it, anything! I-I’ll get it for you. Money or- Lunara: *Fires gun at a glass bottle on the shelf behind Boss, shattering it* Shut up! Listen. Boss: *Nods* Lunara: There’s a guy, he’ll be coming here soon, very soon. His name is Nights and he’ll be looking for me. I want you to- Boss: Have him dealt with? I can do tha- Lunara: *Fires another round at the ground* No! I said shut up and listen! I want you to politely invite him in. I want you to hear what he has to say. I want you to tell him you haven’t seen me in a couple of days. Boss: But Luna, why are you- Lunara: Don’t ask questions, just do it! I don’t want him to find me. *Grabs her chest in pain* Not just yet anyway. *Hands the Boss a piece of paper* Here, give him that address. *Starts to leave* Oh yea! Have this mess cleaned up before he gets here. *Exits* Boss: *Reads the address* But that’s *looks confused at the doorway* that’s your address. *Reads further* Oh! Now I get it.
Act 1: Scene 4 Spoiler: Act 1: Scene 4 Setting: The Boss’s office the next afternoon. The bottle fragments have been cleaned up, along with the other messes. Thug2: Sir, there’s a guy here asking for you. Boss: Did he ask about her? Thug2: Yes, sir. Boss: Well what are you waiting for! Escort the man in! Thug2: Right away, sir. *Starts to leave* Boss: Carefully! You scratch a hair on his head and she’ll kill all of us! Thug2: Yes, sir! *Leaves* Boss: *Sets waiting for a few minutes, nervously adjusting and readjusting his tie* Thug2: *Comes to the doorway and motions Nights in* This way, sir. How may I help you today? *Offers Nights a drink* Nights: *Shakes his head* No, but thank you anyway. Here *Hands Boss a photo of Lunara* I got word that you might know where I can find her. Boss: *Takes the picture from Nights* Oh, is that so *Looks at the picture as if he is thinking* Yes, I believe I know where you can find her. Though, might I ask where this information came from? Nights: Strange as this may sound *Pulls out a note* I found this taped to the door of the hotel room I’m staying in. Boss: Well, that is quite strange. As it just so happens I do in fact know where this particular individual is staying. Though, I haven’t seen her in a couple of days. Nights: That doesn’t matter. Anything that can help me pick up her trail is fine. Tell me where. Boss: Of course *Hands Nights a folded piece of paper* the address is there on that note. If you’d like I can have one of my men give you a ride there. You can relax on your way. Nights: Huh? Oh, no thanks. I think I am capable of getting there alone. I’d rather see her by myself anyway; too many people might scare her off. *Starts to leave* Oh, and one more thing. What kind of business are you involved in, exactly? Boss: Well I’m in the business of . . . trades. Nights: What kind of trades? Boss: The kind that gets people places, without any questions. Nights: No matter how you word it, that’s human trafficking. I know exactly where that leads. *A very long moment of awkward silence* That’s all I wanted to know. Try to stay out of trouble *Leaves* Boss: *Sighs in relief* I’m glad that’s all over. *Beeping* Huh, what’s that? *Looks around* Thug2: *Rushes in* Sir! Are you okay! Boss: What? Of course I’m okay, why wouldn’t I be? *Searching around trying to find the source of the beeping* Thug2: That man who was just here, he told us there was an emergency in here. Thug3&4: *Rush in as well* Boss: That’s absurd! I’m perfectly fine! Do you hear that beeping! Where is it coming from? *Searching around* Thug2: *Points at the chair in front of Boss’s desk* Isn’t it coming from there, sir? Boss: Oh crap!
