Dark Descent: Project G (re-furbished)

This is a remake of the rp with the same title I attempted to do before. With Jayn's approval, I'm going to try again with a few new changes and a much more solid plot line. Progression will move quickly so do not fret about the lack of variety of characters.

Dark Descent: Project G​

Thirty years ago, a new power manifested itself unto the world. With its discovery came the Magic Industrial Revolution. This power came to be called "Magic Energy." Even now, there are none who can explain why this power -- a power that merely lay buried within all living creatures -- suddenly flourished as it did. Today, this Magic Energy permeates every corner of the world. it has changed the way people live, transformed the shape of industry, and has even altered the nature of war.

Several moments before on the Wohl Highlands, Khent forces dressed in Gohtzan armor fought against Uhra until a giant meteor fell from the sky and crushed large sums of soldiers. Those it didn't crush it melted with wave after wave of hot lava flowing from its core.

Uhra Council - Council Hall Interior​

"Is it true the Khents have requested a truce?" Chairman Rengi asked.
"Indeed. We heard that enough men were committed to cover the Wohl Highlands and that most of the Khent force were eliminated." another of the countil responded with a rather disgusted look on his chubby face, "This war was started by them. It's only right they withdraw." "We've also lost a tremendous number of troops. After suffering such a devastating loss, if the Gohtza were to strike now there would be no way we could defend our country!" another of the council piped up. "And there are also whispered that Gohtza was pulling strings behind the Invasion." the only female member of the council added.
"What makes you think that the Gohtza were involved?" Chairman Rengi asked of her.
"We have confirmed that a large amount of military hardware has been moved from Gohtza to Khent. We assume Gohtza plans to use Khent to keep things stirred up and destabilize Uhra. "Are you saying that even the meteor crash was a Gohtzan plot?" the chubby Council member questioned of her.
"My lord, I have some disturbing information on that subject. We suspect that a situation at Grand Staff may have caused the meteor crash.
"Grand Staff... This is not the first time that stories about it have reached my ears." Rengi frowned at his advisor. "This is not confirmed, but magic energy may have leaked out of Grand Staff. Interferred with something in outer space, and precipitated this disaster."
"Anagraze."
"Yes, My Lord."
"The Grand Staff falls under your jurisdiction. Do you have anything to say?" Rengi scowled at the younger mage.
Huffing, Anagraze responded, "Nothing for the moment." Anagraze turned to the advisor, "Where did you get this information? Construction of Grand Staff is going smoothly."
"Now that the forces of Uhra have suffered such devastating losses, I think we have no other way to protect our land except with the magic energy that Grand Staff will provide. We should hold off on debating the pros and cons of Grand Staff until we've thoroughly reviewed the worlds current situation." A member spoke up almost in defense of Grand Staff and Anagraze.
"What you say makes sense. But our plan to use magic energy is a double-edged sword. With all sorts of rumors flying around, we might want to...halt construction of Grand Staff." the Chairman looked pointedly at Anagraze and the council member who stood up for Grand Staff.
"What?!" Anagraze gave the chairman a disbelieving look.
"Only temporarily. Soon as it's clear that Grand Staff had nothing to do with the meteor collision, we'll resume construction immediately, Anagraze." Rengi amended and watched Anagraze's face return to a blank slate and looked down at the table.

Uhra's history with Gohtza and Khent have made the borders of war undistinguishable from those of peace. Among Uhra, several messengers were putting up flyers and posters advertising the Council's need for strong warriors or mages to carry out a mission for them.

Tearing a flyer off the wall, a man dressed in red gave it a once over and snorted, "As long as they're handing out money, I'll be around." pocketing the flyer, he headed towards the center of Uhra for the Council Chambers.

Uhra – Mages are used and Warriors.
White Mage: Uses magic energy for healing and has a few offensive spells.
Black Mage: Uses magic energy for destruction.
Uhran Mercenary: mercenaries that work for hire and are currently serving in Uhra’s military.






Rules:
1. Follow the normal roleplaying section’s rules
2. Keep violence, cursing and romance to PG-13
3. No godmodding, powerplaying, whatever else you want to call it.
4. Please, no one liners…I know it often gets difficult, but things can turn into five lines with a bit of detail.
5. No killing another person’s character without theirs and my permission.
6. I encourage romance, but PLEASE do not go overboard. That's what PMs are for (only use if you are that desperate XD)
7. If you don’t post in 3 or more days without prior notification, I will kill your character off.
8. Any complaints please PM me.
9. Have fun! ^^ (and you thought I’d be a complete beach about it XP)

Bio: Crimson was one of the many who were subjects to Project G. He doesn’t know why the form he takes on when he enters into a rage is a bear, all he says he needs to know is that it’s hard to control and those that make him that way deserve to die. Crimson was given his name by Dr. Cooke Crescent. After he woke up from the surgery, he couldn’t remember his name or his past.

Bio: Mikatsu is often mistook for someone from Gohtza, until she starts to cast spells. Orphaned as a child, Mikatsu recoiled inside herself and relies on her magic to keep her safe instead of friends or family. She holds no memories of her past. A slight accent is the only indication that she belongs in Numara. Only a few orphaned children in Numara recognize her as their “elder sister†and welcome her with smiles.
Other: Mikatsu’s missing memory plays a part in her name and role.

Bio: Lief’s mother was taken by Gohtza’s army and experimented on to the brink of madness. His father pursued her until he was killed on the battlefield. Before leaving, he taught his son all he knew of the ways of the sword and reminded Lief to act with honor and not to tarnish their family honor.
Other: He’s the last remaining Khent soldier from the Wohl Highlands, how he survived he’s not sure.

He's inherited the power of the Eastern Tribe and opened a sort of school to teach others how to harness Spirit Magic. His name is known in each country as something to be revered for he takes martial arts and his magic seriously and quite lenient at times.
Other: Ciel is fond of his students and makes rash decisions a lot. He upholds the Tribe's traditions and keeps them alive with his students.

Bio: cassidy wasn't thrilled about joining the army, but his family needed the money. With the war hitting so close to home, their business wasn't doing too hot. The economy was starting to look pretty shabby and the pay that the army was offering happened to be pretty decent. He decided to enlist even though his wife greatly protested. He hoped that with the new income they would be able to survive, even if he didn't.

Bio: Unlike his friends learning magic came almost natural for him. his father would always tell him that he always had a natural gift for it, though Zero was more concern about learning how to wield a sword. So in a way to please his dad he decided to learn magi that could be used from his hands and from different objects.
