Tommy eventually split off as an alternate personality and Dil was introduced as a way for Angelica to keep control of him.

Googled and found this theory. Meh to it. Evangelion is dark and disturbing as it is. It needs no further glooming up to come off gloomy. Quotings belows. Apparently the Pokemon forums' populations consist of such Freudian thinkers.

The only one I've ever cared for is the Pokemon one... with ash in a Coma, just because that is so incredibly well written.

Oh my god....it all makes sense

Oh and also I found one on Handy Manny:
Manny was a decent guy with a wife and some kids who had gotten a job as a handyman in Sheetrock Hills after he and his family moved there. Manny was good at his job, while he didn't make a whole lot of money he was able to save a lot by building most of his house himself and doing all of the upkeep and whatnot for free.

One day while Manny was out working, there was an electrical fire in the house due to bad wiring and the house burned down, killing Manny's wife and children. Manny blamed himself and suffered a psychotic break.

Eventually Manny was released from the mental hospital and went to his workshop to find his toolbox and tools, a gift from his family when he became a handyman and the only memento he had of them. To Manny's surprise, his tools begin speaking to him and moving around the workshop. Manny realizes he doesn't have to be alone anymore because his tools are his friends. Manny forgets he ever had a family, replacing them with his beloved tools.

The other people in the town play along with Manny's madness because he was a decent guy and they feel bad for him, when he starts waving his tools around and speaking in different voices they react to the tools as if they were alive because they don't want to remind Manny of his loss.

This is why Manny is only ever called for very easy jobs like fixing one wooden stair or replacing a bar on a baby crib; the people don't trust Manny to do anything more difficult. It is also why Kelly gives Manny whatever supplies he needs without asking him for any money. Mr. Lowpart pretends to be a bumbling moron, but he actually makes sure Manny has enough to eat and that all of his bills are paid on time, since Manny is too busy playing with his tools to take care of things like this.

Except....wasn't Belle smart? The story has nothing to do with sexuality, as shallow appearances was what got the prince to turn into a beast in the first place. Moreover, she fell in love with the prince when he was a hideous beast and she could hold her own, rejecting Gaston, the most popular man in her village.

The others are sort of saved just because they're 'beautiful' or the token princess.

You guys are fucking up my childhood. ;~; I hate you all forever.

The Smurfs is a representation of the socialist party: everyone looks the same and are characterized by a generic title, live without signs of war, and the only different Smurf in the village, Papa Smurf, is a representation of Josef Stalin.

Snow White never awoke from her 'death'. She eventually does die and the Prince is an angel who delivers her to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I just made that up but I always thought the last shot of the castle covered up in clouds was weird. But anyways I wanted to say something original and not copy paste someone elses.

But I actually really hate things like this, they are all really dumb :/ is the Land Before Time one in here? I don't feel like reading this whole thread.

It really isn't dark or anything but:

The Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack exist within the same universe, Samurai Jack being transported to the destroyed Townsville and also assuming the Powerpuff Girls were killed...

I've never read one that affected me as much or more than the Rugrats theory.

If someone has the Ash-in-a-coma one, can they post it here?

Actually one more horrifying for me would be that The Clone Wars' depiction of Mandalorians is accepted as canon.
    Peace-loving, pacifist, diplomatic people.

    haha
    no

On a more serious note though, I do remember a particularly odd one that had to do with Majora's Mask (not the BEN/Haunted Cartridge story). I'll have to try and find that.

Ah, here. Stone Tower theory. Not really the most disturbing, but it digs into Majora's Mask and that game by itself is creepy as hell.
    http://www.zeldauniverse.net/articles/the-stone-tower-why-termina-was-doomed/

There's also another theory that Majora's Mask was all in Link's head, that it was him coming to terms with the fact he had died and became a Stalfos/Hero's Shade that appears in Twilight Princess.

Discovered one for Ed, Edd, and Eddy

There’s a theory that interprets Ed, Edd and Eddy’s entire cast of kids as all being dead and living in a purgatory of an eternal childhood cycle (originally an eternal summer, but then they started going to school), thusly the complete lack of any adults in the purgatory. They’re are a number of explanations for their deaths, ranging from basic deaths such as an explosion due to a gas-leak in the neighborhood, to apocalyptic ones such as nuclear explosion or the spread of a deadly disease that killed most of middle-America. A related theory suggests that the kids in the cul-de-sac are dead children from the neighborhood, each from different time periods (Johnny and Rolf from the 40’s, Kevin from the 90’s, Naz from the 60’s, Jimmy from the 00’s, and so on).

Came up with two original ones, because i'm bored...

Here's one for Kingdom Hearts (although, it works better if you ignore anything after Kingdom Hearts 2)

Kairi died at the end of the first Kingdom Hearts game. It all starts after Sora releases his heart and frees Kairi's. You recall that once Heartless Sora comes back as human Sora, Kairi gave her own life to save Sora's. She is now a ghost that haunts Sora's heart, meaning that he's the only one that can see her. At the end of the first game, when Simple and Clean plays with Sora and Kairi drifting away, that's Sora finally letting her go, and the recreated Destiny Island is really some sort of Heaven. The good luck charm? She gave it to him before they left the island at the beginning of the day, but they still make the promise on it.

Since Nobodies live between the world of light and Darkness, they can travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. It has been shown that in Birth By sleep that the world of darkness has the dark beach where Sora and Riku end up at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2. We saw that Xemnas and Roxas were able to travel to there on at least one occasion. So, it is entirely plausable for them to go to the Destiny Island Heaven, and kidnap the ghost Kairi. This time, however, everyone can see her, since she is no longer haunting anyone/anything.

she is easily able to find Riku because they were close, and was able to make it easy for them for Sora to find them (because of the link that the two had because she haunted him during the first game). At the very end, where Sora and Riku defeat Xemnas, they used up too much energy in fighting him and were killed by the Dusks. They pass to the beach and are allowed into the Destiny Island Heaven. So, in the end, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, Jiminy, and Mickey are all dead.

Ouran High School Host Club (the anime, since I haven't read the manga and don't know how close they are)
Haruhi commited suicide before she attended Ouran High. She knew that she was never popular, was down about her looks and social class, and finally allowed her mother's death to get to her. The Host Club is full of men characters that she was attracted to in shojo-manga/anime, which is why she doesn't take a preference to one. Renge is her inner fangirl allowed to run free.

The Kingdom Hearts one...God I never should've read it. Interesting theory though.

I always took that version of them as only seeming to be peace loving because they're being restricted by the Republic. In reality, they're just waiting for the war with the Separatists to end so they can take the Republic for themselves.
