Oh I'm very serious. I think gender politics is a very silly thing. No offense to you but I consider the two sexes scientific terms, using them as self-expression creates a standard. Just be you, yaknow?

My former Anthropology professor would give you a huge lecture on the difference between sex and gender.

 

Sex, gender, its splitting hairs. Its semantics and not part of the point I was trying to make.

 

Politics aside, one is a physical classification and the other a self identification, at the simplest.
They are used interchangeably often, but so are peruse and skim.
