For those of you who don't know or are too lazy to google, this is part of the ongoing partnership with Tecomo-Koei and Nintendo. In this game, we see a Wii U exclusive entry into the long forgotten Fatal Frame series.

The game comes out in two months. Nintendo doesn't allow comments on any videos for it they put on YouTube. We're not seeing this game.[DOUBLEPOST=1405627954][/DOUBLEPOST]We also never got this game

I live in the middle of nowhere and almost every store that sells video game consoles has Wii U's in stock.

People in the middle of nowhere are perfectly capable of buying Wii U's.

yes but middle of nowhere implies there aren't many people to actually buy one in the first place

Not like it'd matter much here in such a story intensive series like Fatal Frame...

    Gotta learn to speak Nippon.

    >Great franchise
    >On Console that's getting flak for it's lack of 3rd party stuff
    >Not coming out everywhere.

    Well done Nintendo.

Actually, this would still be first-party support as Nintendo is still the publisher, it's just made by a second-party contracted to do work by the first party. Basically, it doesn't solve the issue of lack of third party support at all. You know what would? This not happening. The small fact there is only third party support coming from Japanese companies like Capcom, Namco, and SEGA as well as a very few Western companies like Warner Bros. The only diversity on the Wii U is coming from studios without publishers on the eShop and actually Nintendo themselves (Ninja Gaiden III, Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Lost World, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Devil's Third, you get the idea- these are games brought to us by Nintendo but not made by them). In fact, three of those listed third-party companies were given the rights to use Nintendo characters in their game to dull the fear of competing with Nintendo, which has been the source of no third party support since the N64 (and why it decreased ten fold during the SNES years). The other publisher listed just must have no where else to put Monster Hunter, as the the only other game they released on the Wii U is every where.

The point of all that? It's not Nintendo to blame for the lack of games on Wii U as they're the ones going leaps and bounds to get games, give people the tools to make games, and make games easier to market on the console. If you want to blame people for the lack of third party stuff on Wii U, blame the third parties for thinking they have have to invest their company every time they make a game so the hair will look neat. If you want to blame anyone for this specific release, blame Nintendo of America for thinking we're plebs who don't care for Japanese games. We're lucky to be getting Xenoblade Chronicles X. Write to XSEED or Atlus in mass, bring the game to their attention and let them know you want a localization. Much better than sitting around miffed off about the game not happening.

In a near dying genre I' m starving for. Oh well, I' ll just wait the Evil Within.

Huh ? They jumped the Snes ship en masse as soon as the PS appeared, not a second before. The N64 just got late to that party. Too late, it never caught up. Although Nintendo' s ass tight policies back then surely played a little part in that exodus ultimately the devs just go where the party' s at, it' s that simple. They don' t look afraid to compete with big N on their portables while the Vita whips its amazing hairs in vain to get their attention.

I wish I could say the same, but the more I learn about that game, the more it feels like it's focusing less on what's actually scary (atmosphere, ambiguous creatures, isolation, claustrophobic areas) and more on basically being Resident Evil 4 plus traps.

I'll still play it, but it's not what I was hoping for to keep survival-horror alive.
