Why would you need to bleep ass? It's not vulgar in the actual use.

    I agree with this 100% 8D

Ass shouldn't be blocked. It's another word for Donkey ._.

I don't think ass is bleeped. The whole word must be censored instead of just the ass part.

If you think ass is a a cuss word, then don't use it. However, I do think that there shouldn't be a censor on any words because most people bypass them, myself included. So, if the rule against bypassing isn't enforced, what's the point of having the censors anymore?

All the cuss words mean something, it's just that people use them differently

*sigh* its simple. if there were a feature to control whether you want the censorship or not, then everyone would be happy >.>

He's using it as an example of a non-swear word.

We aren't going to change it because one person feels it isn't a swear word, i doubt we will change it full stop. Well to be frank, it is a swear word. No matter what way you look at it, you can't use it for anything pleasant. (not including the type of sword, the ******* sword for all those smart arses XD)

It is in no way the equivalent of shut up, ass is much more tame unless you add a hole. Can't see how you got to that conclusion, maybe it doesn't effect you or your friends when in conversation with them. Then again what swear word does these days when your talking to your mates, though it doesn't stop the fact to many people it isn't appropriate to say and mainly said said in an act of aggressions, disgust or in an argument. We could easily censor many other words, but we aren't to be tight arses as we nly censor a select few, if we uncensor b****** then we might as well do f*** or s*** as well and that isn't going to happen.

This is a kids site. I mean I wouldn't want my little sister learning new words because some people thought that it they aren't cuss words. Keep in mind that some 10+ parents don't want there kid using cuss words and words that you don't think are cuss words but they're words that shouldn't come out of a person's mouth at that age.

I mean it's getting insane. Before I found this site or KH for that matter my older sister played Habbo Hotel where everyone just puts dots between censored words so my little sister (even smaller at the time) saw the "F" word and she said it to my mom. (Bad idea) Then we all got banned from Habbo and Runescape. (That was just ridculous) All because my sister learned a new word.

That would also reduce membership. I know some of my friends (there younger than me but in my grade because they're "gifted") would love to come on this site, but they can't if you guys uncensor words you don't think are cuss words.

Also I'm no fan of cuss words myself or words that don't seem like cuss words but are preferably unsaid. like my weird friend who says c,r,a,p, with a "K" (she's probably mental though)

Remember that just because you don't think that some words are so bad doesn't mean that other people think that way.

In all fairness though, ******* does mean something else besides a swear but also in fairness there are other ways of saying it.

Ass is a word that is well, more accepted that it can be used in other ways than just to call someone a name.

B@stard though is a word that is only ever used to insult others. It's literal meaning is a son without a father. Even that is quite insulting and has been used to deny males the rights to inheritance, especially in the noble lines and was due to the fathers sleeping around and not owing up to responsibility. Some people may use it for different meanings, but I've really never heard it as meaning 'shut up'. It's a cut down, slanderous thing to say. The only time I hear it meaning something else is in the technical world where sometimes we will say something is a 'b@stard' part, meaning that it doesn't belong and won't fit with the others or for the sword.

Betch may mean a 'female dog' but how many people today actually 'use it' to mean that? Instead the only time it's really used to not be insulting to females is if someone uses it to say 'that person gripes a lot'. Then it's used for either gender. However, will people be more inclined to say 'you B'? Yeah, they would.

Ass and a hole added...let's think here again that people would just use it to say it about someone else again. Ass isn't banned because it's not as derogatory. Ass also needs to be unbanned because of words like assimilate, etc that aren't crass words.

This is a site for kids as well as adults and in the end, we need to keep to that theme that it is universally accepted as safe for anyone. Some members' parents do come and check on the site before allowing their kids to come here. If they see a ton of cussing, they will be very inclined to not allow members here. We all know the words exist and we all get the point if someone is using adjustments to the word to bypass the censors. However, it also makes the person writing the words think. There are several words in the English language that can be used instead of calling someone a b@stard or a betch or an a-hole. If it wasn't for the more 'aggressive' sorts of people here who insult often and the words weren't used so nastily, things might be different but we still all manage to get our points across.

I am not usually one for censors in all seriousness. I can use crass words whenever quite liberally on occasion. However, on a forum meant for where kids and adults meet, it's just not appropriate to always do that. The censors aren't really taking away free speech in the end because we can still manage to get the points across with other words or variations of words and who doesn't get it if I say 'F*** that!'. In the end it just makes things less taken seriously which sometimes on a forum, we are bound to take them more seriously because it is hard to depict tone from text. The censors don't prevent cussing and cussing is allowed to a point. Consider it more as a way of lightening some messages because of the confusion that can happen with text messages. That's how I look at it since it isn't really preventing us from using the words at all. It kind of makes us consider how we will use the terms if we are going to.
