Curse of Science

"Of cource," Nox said getting up he was a little worried but not to much.

 

Abby, sensing Nick's frustration, gently placed a hand on his arm. "It's okay... everything is going to be alright." She removed her hand from Nick's arm, and peered around to check on his wings. She lightly touched one. "This one... is broken for sure..."

Zoey lowered her eyes and watched as the two Flighted interacted with each other. She smiled to herself and blinked again, trying to get use to the light.

 

The doctor spoke to him once they were outside. "I noticed some parts that weren't...human. She has extensive muscle, and a different heart......"

Alexa sighed and rolled her eyes. "You know ther broken, you heard it just as well as I did." she muttered, not entirely meaning to be heard. She walked over to a wall, placing her hand against the wall.

 

"Do you have records of what you found," Nox asked. Inside Nox's head alarms were going off but he had to remain calm.

 

Abby sighed out and nodded her head slowly.

"But where are we going to go?" Zoey was finally paying attention to what they were saying. Her mind went off into la la land for a moment.

 

The doctor shook his head. "We haven't recorded yet. I would like to study her more, if thats all right with you." The doctor flashed a fake smile. "Make sure its nothing serious."

Alexa laughed. "How do you plan on going anywhere?" She slowly moved a chunk of rock out of the wall, setting it gently on its side. She would be exhausted later, she hadn't done this much power since she had escaped. "Good luck keeping up with anyone in the air."

 

Nox flashed the doctor his gun, "your going to forget you saw us and we're going to leave scot free."

 

The doctor sighed. "I'm afraid not. You see, she is a medical miracle. We need to study her. I already had a nurse drug her IV bag. She isn't going anywhere. You are free to leave."

 

"You can have a blood sample thats it," Nox said, "she's leaveing with me."

 

The doctor shook his head. "The drugs are going to slow down her heart. She's going to need to stay on that IV for 24 hours, or else she might go into shock." He tried to look apologetic.

Kira watched the nurse leave. She felt so sleepy.....something was wrong, but her mind wouldn't think properly..."Nox..." she managed to say, before falling asleep.

 

"I'm not talking about leaving you behind. We'll just have to stay here for a couple days. Or somewhere close by." Alexa peeked through the hole, then crept through, circling the room.

 

Zoey spunned around. "What? You're going away?"

Abby shooke her head. "No. We need to stick together! I don't care if your going to slow us down or not. We don't have a plan what so ever of what to do right now, so let's stick together. We're not in a hurry to get any where either!"

Zoey was quiet for a moment... then spoke almost with a whispers. "And we can also find someone to help you..."

 

"I'm not leaveing her and your not doing any of that," Nox said angreyed.

 

The doctor shrugged. "Do what you like. She stays here." He turned to walk away.

 

"You can't hold a paitent agiest her will," Nox said still pissed.

 

"She's not a patient." The doctor didn't turn around. "You can have a few minutes with her, before the initial exams begin."

 

Zoey bit her lower lip, clentching her fist that hung to her side. She was trying to hold back tears... What would it be like if Nick wasn't in the group? She just met up with these guys... "But..."

Abby sighed out quietly, leaning against the wall. She was really tired by now, and didn't want to say anymore... She was at the point to let Nick do what ever he wanted.
