    "Don't worry 'bout me." He muttered, rising slowly to his feet. He staggered forward and gasped. "Gah. I hit the ground pretty hard...but I guess I'll just leave my wings alone and hope they'll heal in...I dunno...I messed my wings up pretty bad." Nick laughed at his own stupidity.     The doctor didn't nod, already leaving the room to prepare for surgery. "If we get it out in time." he said. Kira, her eyes already closing from the sedation. "I don't want to....." she murmured, her eyes drooping.

    The doctors hovered over Kira. A machine monitering her heart beeped methodically. The doctors seemed surprised by something, but quickly ignored it, working steadily.

    The doctor nodded. "Her heart stopped at a couple intervals, but she's going to be okay. She needs to rest here for a few days, then take extreme care moving for the next two weeks. No physical exertion." The doctor headed past him. "You can go in and see."
