I'm scared of going clothes shopping.

Literally, I won't even go in the shops, sometimes I will with family with me but I'll never actually look for clothes/go to buy any or anything ._.

    what do?

also, me going out of the house other than having to for college happens like, 3 times a year [/practically a hikki]

What exactly worries you about clothes shopping?

If you dislike it so much, there is always online shopping.

true but I have no paypal/card.

and I guess being judged/thought of as weird for the clothes I'm looking for, since they'd be... at best adrogynous.

Who are you afraid of being judged by? The employees, the other patrons, or the people you're out with?

But the people in the same shop as you won't judged you in a bad way, they'll most likely think 'Oh hey this person has the same fashion interests as me'

Well, on the employers, I know several people who work in retail and I can tell you this: they probably have a mild disdain for anyone who walks into their shop. However, as long as you're not difficult/overly messy, they're not going to be concerned with you. They have customers to ring up, clothes to put away, things to fold, etc. You're hardly their concern. Secondly, they help so many people during the day and (this is going to sound mean but it's well intended) they really do not care about you.

Similarly, the other patrons probably are not paying much attention to you. People get very wrapped up in their own life/business, they're not really glancing around the store at you. They're probably thinking about where they're going to eat, what that last text message said, how much this shirt is, etc.

I do understand what you're saying about shopping with others though, I hate going with friends or my mom. Really my sister is the only person I feel comfortable actively shopping with? haha. Sometimes you've just got to limit it to the people you do enjoy shopping with. And if there's no one? Go alone. There's no shame in that.

As Mish mentioned, there is always online shopping, but it's good to push yourself and go out to the shops every now and then.

Practice going out in public with this on. I guarantee that, if you can grow accustomed to going out with that on, clothes will be the least of your worries. Overcome embarrassment by doing embarrassing such things, so to speak. Dilute the feeling, deconstruct it, dominate it. Good luck.

Hm, true enough I guess. My paranoid nature gets the better of me, but still, I have trouble even accompanied by my own mother. Perhaps online is the way to go

... Somehow I doubt public humiliation will make it easier, and I'm not the dominant pro-active taking control of my life type of person.

..Now there's an idea.. get my boyfriend to take me.. hmmmm
