~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~

Finally having gained his composure, Sonic stood up, breathing heavily.
"Doom...Where's Stern?" Sonic asked.
Dr. Doom pointed out the window, where Stern had bound Levi and Dearche in a red magic hold.
"What...What is she doing?" Sonic said.
It was then that Stern flew off in the direction of U-D, leaving Levi and Dearche bound.
"Stern! No!" Sonic said, pounding his fist on the window.
The hedgehog could only stand and watch through his metal suit of armor as Stern flew straight at the ultimate power.

~The Sky~

Fate watched as Thoma struck Subaru and fired at her.
"What do I do?...If I try and fight him, my counter will hit zero for sure...But if I don't, Subaru could get killed...Marluxia, any ideas?"

With his cheek still resting on his knuckle Gilgamesh noticed Stern fly by him "oh? isn't that one of Dearche's retainers?" Gilgamesh said and looked over at the area that Stern had left. Upon noticing Dearche and Levi Gilgamesh smirked and chuckled a bit "ah so you've returned...things have become more interesting" Gilgamesh said

 

Marluxia stood silent. As long as Thoma's counter held, Subaru would remain unharmed. But with every hit he dealt, it rose by one. 100 wasn't all that far away. "I could remove your count...But if you let his get to 100, I'll be unable to replace yours...The reason i placed one on you in the first place is so you'd remain unharmed even should his break... He thought over all possible options. "There might be a way to get him off of her...But it'd be incredibly risky. We could reverse our plan. Lure U-D to Thoma. If we succeeded, i'm sure he'd deem her the bigger threat. But the process would be near suicide. As would fighting him. I'll leave our course of action up to you. You can fight Avenir head on without the count, risking injury if his breaks, fight him with it on and risk it hitting 0, or try to lure U-D here. The pink haired nobody told here. None of their options were preferable, but there wasn't much they could do, And Fate didn't seem the type to abandon the girl attacked by Thoma.

 

The Daleks looked at each other and silently agreed to wait until the last second to do something. Until then, they analyzed the room to determine the positions to inflict most structural damage. Although being a throne room containing the Death Star's main and overseeing CPU, there were quite a few spots.

"IT IS TIME. PREPARE THE PLANETARY TRANSMAT. BRING THE DEATH STAR HERE."

The Doom counter hit "100" (roughly ten seconds left).

The nine Daleks quickly spread across the space they were forced in to those weak points.

"50"

Each one of them activated their own self-destruct devices. The leader spoke to GLaDOS. "WHAT USE IS AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IF IT IS TORN FROM THE SYSTEM?"

"40"

"BLAST SHIELDS DISABLED." The atoms that made up their casings began to both fuse with each other and split apart, generating heat and radiation.

"30"

"PLANETARY MOVEMENT IMMINENT." Almost instantly, Death Star was pulled at speeds many times the speed of light and soon settled in the heart of the Medusa Cascade, near the sealed time rift. The Daleks' casings began to glow from the heat radiating off of the nuclear chain reactions happening to the dalekanium and polycarbide atoms.

The Supreme Dalek sent them one last transmission to all of the Daleks inside the Death Star, which the nine used as their final words: "CLEANSE THE UNCLEAN. TOTAL OBLITERATION! ANNIHILATE!!!"

At the instant the Dalek mutant died, each casing detonated with a blast equivalent to a volcanic eruption. Another five seconds later, the Dalek in the core self-destructed in the exact same manner, causing the core to detonate in a chain reaction. The supernova-like explosion easily broke through the forcefield the Dalek set up, soon ripping apart the other Daleks standing guard on the atomic level along with everything beyond before ultimately tearing the seal on the rift wide open. Regardless if GLaDOS and Dysley survived, which they probably did (nine nukes and a supernova wouldn't be enough to completely penetrate a fal'Cie's protective barrier, would it?), it was a Dalek victory in the end.

Dysley opened his eyes from behind the sunglasses he was now wearing, only to see that his Death Star was in complete ruins around him.
"Well that's not good." he said, wandering over to where GLADoS's core was and downloading her into a potato. "Best way to keep your functional for now. You'll thank me later. Now off to the spare!"
With that, he transported himself and potato!GLADoS aboard the Death Star II, which was still in construction but technically ready to be used.
A confused officer approached the pair of them, his expression pretty much normal for a man in his position.
"My Emperor, our information placed you on the Death Star... what are you doing here?" he asked, trying to figure just what the hell was going on.
"This is a Death Star, is it not? Here, take this potato and install it in the mainframe. Express install."

"Yes... this is how it has to be." Stern said, heading towards the Unbreakable Dark. "Even if I'm burnt out completely... there wil be no regrets."
"That's a lie though, isn't it." Levi said from beside her, suddenly catching Stern's attention.
"You like some of those people, don't you? Sonic, the Doctor, even Scaglietti. You have friends back there."
"How did you--?"
"Get free? Levi is the Material of Power, remember? I can break a bind like that in no time with sheer force alone!"
"That's ridiculous..." Stern said, admiring her sibling's strength, but unsure of where this left them.
"See? If we fight her together, we'll have more success, and more chance of survival, right? It only makes sense to do it like this."
For a moment, a sad smile broke on her features, among the first real emotions she had displayed.
"Yes. Thank you. Let's do this, for king."

U-D turned to see them both, ignoring the perils that her Berserker's ship was in and directing her attention at the Materials completely. She tilted her head slightly, confused by their approach.
"You've come back, even knowing what will happen." she spoke to them, sadness still in her eyes. "Why?"
"We've come to help you!" Levi said back, smiling even as she drew Vulnificus. "We're going to fix you!"
"It's useless... what can you do? There's nothing in me except destruction. That's all I was created for. There is nothing to save."
"We were once a part of you, U-D. We know how you feel, and we know that there's a way. Look at us. We live by ourselves, not compelled by instinct to do anything, despite our connection to you."
"Yeah! If we can live for ourselves, so can you!"
"That's... no! Go now, or I will have to destroy you! I'm too powerful, but you can still leave so why do you--?!"
"Power is boring unless there's a goal, or it's for fun. We'll save you from that!"
"Levi, let's go. Dearche can and will control U-D, but first we have to do this."
And so, the battle between them commenced, Levi taking the front while Stern provided ranged support. Already the ferocity of the fight was such that anybody close by might think twice about their proximity.

 

Subaru crossed her arms in front of her in a defensive pose as the shot was fired and blasted her back. Instantly a wing road materialised under her feet to stop her from travelling further. "What?! If that reaches zero, he'll die?!" she repeated. Don't they get it? This just tips the scales in his favour if he can't be hurt and only die... my intention was to subdue him with force... which is difficult enough without finding out that now I can't even wear him down, only kill him... Damn! what do I do? Subaru tried to consider her options. Naturally, she had no idea what this U-D was and her only objective currently was to save Thoma no matter the cost. "Hey! Pink hair!" she called to Marluxia, not knowing his name. "Can you remove that ability of yours?" she asked, referring to the numbers on his head. "At this rate, Thoma is only going to suffer more. We need to overwhelm him and stop him from fighting back, not kill him. If we don't do that, all of us will be killed instead!" she tried to explain. Dammit... I don't want to hurt Thoma at all... but this is the only thing I can think of right now...

Shirou looked at Lightning as he considered her words, before he made his firm decision. He didn't even need to think about it. To him, he didn't have a choice to make. "I'm already involved in this war... I'm a Master like you guys. I've got to do what I can too. To runaway would be to deny everything I've done so far... that me... Saber and Tohsaka managed."
Naturally though... Shirou was still under the impression that Lightning and Sazh were Masters in the Holy Grail War too... some weird stuff was happening sure, but he didn't know any better or different.

 

Joker was now plain bored of just sitting there. So, he got up from his purple seat. "Hate to leave so soon, but I wanna give this baby a try!"
Powering up his suit(which had flying cababilities for some reason), he set off. He was debating wether or not to go with Levi and Stern, but decided to help Marluxia and Fate. Arriving he waved his Gunblade in the air. "HEY GUYS! GUESS WHO DECIDED TO HELP YA? THAT'S RIGHT! YOU'VE GOT UNCLE J!!!" Flying up next to Fate, he shakes her hand. "Joker, nice to finally meet you! Mind if I call ya Ferrari? Being that was the inspiration for you're name and all... hows Arf, by the way? Oh and what's the Garden of Time like this summer? I was planning a Holiday for Harley and myself and I was thinkin' the Garden of Time. Anyway, plan?" He then spotted Thoma Avenir. "OH, right, get him to fight U-D! Awesome... thing being he's Vaizenian... could be difficult. Especially since his town was destroyed by Hückebein, I tell ya, that ain't easy to deal with... again, what's the plan?" Joker, it seemed, knew alot. But hey, he know's everything. That and he hasn't had much screen time, so he needs to get it outta him.

 

"No. Not die. If it hits zero, He'll be injured to the point of incapacitation. At which point we could kill him if we wanted to. That is how the doom count works." Marluxia explained, as otherwise that ability would be considered godmodding. Then turned to Joker. "...Right....plan...We do whatever Fate decides"

It took Fate a moment to process the barrage of nonsense (Or at least it was nonsense to her) that the Joker had just spat at her, but she quickly caught up and thought of a plan.
"Marluxia, you'll have to do as Subaru asked and remove the curse from him, and also remove it from me. At the rate he's going, the counter would drop much too fast, and he is of no use to us if he is incapacitated."
Fate then turned to the Joker.
"Once the number above Thoma's head is gone, we have to attack him. DO NOT kill him, we just need to subdue him. He's one of our only chances against U-D. Understood?"

~Doom's Flying Fortress~
Since the Joker took it upon himself to join the fight outside, Doom was also ready to fight.
"Wesker, Luke, we will join The Joker outside." Doom ordered before turning to Sonic.
"Are you fit for battle, Hedgehog?" Doom asked.
Sonic turned to Doom, a look of anxiety still in his eyes.
"Yeah...Yeah, I'm okay. I just need a way to carry the Emeralds with me."
"You do. I forgot to mention that your suit has a containment chamber on the left of the waist for carrying the Chaos Emeralds." Doom explained, pointing to it.
"Oh, alright." Sonic said before gathering the Chaos Emeralds and putting them in the small chamber*.
"If there are no further delays, we will move now." Doom said, flying out the same way the Joker did. Wesker and Sonic followed suit and flew out of the fortress using their suit's jetpacks.

*Imagine the chamber as a metal fanny-pack.

 

Luke shrugged. "You're the boss man." He added in a silent whisper "for now" and put on some shoes he stole from his dad. Then he followed them, his dads shoes being able to fly and all.

Joker nodded. "Right. No kill. Got it." He then leaned in closer to Fate. "Oh not meaning to spoil anything, but you meet those two in the future. When you're about... 25, is it? Oh and you also become the prototype user of a '5th generation device' whatever that is. But I'll shut up now!" He then looked for gadgets on his suit, and noticed that it had 'minigun mode'. Pressing this button a giant minigun comes out of his arm piece. "YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Now we're talking!" He then remembers not to kill Thoma, so he sets the bullet mode to non-lethal-but-still-hurt-quite-alot. He then proceeds to fire.

 

"As you wish."Marluxia snapped his gloved fingers. Both counts were enveloped in nobody thorns and evaporated. He'd done it just in time. Thoma's was at about 10 thanks to joker. He extended his hand forward, a gale of petals swirled in front of him. He grabbed the center of it and pulled out his graceful Dahlia. "Shall we then?"

 

"We shall." Answered Joker, putting on like a boss glasses and throwing some to Marluxia.

Meanwhile, Nixio and Vanitas(for unknown reasons) where not with the Doctor in that underwater city, they were actually getting kinda bored, so Vanitas opened a portal to Castle Oblivion to see if there was any excitment there. "Well, this place has not changed one bit." He said, as he came out into the hallways. "Indeed, Vanitas... wait, do you hear that?" Vanitas scratched his head. "Huh, that's crazy, sounds just like you-- huh? Were'd you go?!?" Nixio was running towards the voice, because he knew exactly who it was.

Back with Jafar and co, Jafar decided to send Shepard on his merry way, being a threat and all. Shepard appeared in Jail's ship, with a very confused face. "What just happened?" He then saw Jail, and went over to him. "How goes the fight?"

"True enough. Nobody can escape war forever." she said, before heading towards the ship.
"What she means is thank you." Sazh explained to the boy. "She would never admit it, but we can't handle this whole business alone. There was six of us, but the others changed. They left us a little while ago, on this tower. We aren't sure where they've gone."

Thoma's count had not, in fact, gone down to about 10, as saying that it had would be a form of godmodding, and thus it stopped at 11 instead just to spite Rienzel.

"Badly, I'm afraid." Jail answered Shepard, unsurprised at his appearance because he had absolutely totally been the one to teleport him there.
"We've lost Dr. Eggman to U-D already. The others are running delaying tactics while we try to capture and coerce Avenir into fighting her directly. We are, however, almost ready to deploy the cartridges. But that's not why I brought you here."
He brought up on-screen the black ship from before, indicating it to Shepard.
"This ship is the same one you apparently encountered earlier, though it is for some reason far more powerful than before. You can have who you like with you, but as one of the most familiar with alien technology, it seems appropriate to have you take the lead on this one. In addition, we've picked up an energy signature from within it. A second ship, though this one I'm sure you will recognise."
As he spoke, the outline of the SR2 Normandy appeared on the screen, indicating that within the Berserker's ship was Shepard's own.

Minutes had passed since the combat had started, but despite their efforts very little had seemingly been done to U-D. And yet, they were succeeding; her power level was being kept steady instead of increasing, due to the excertion they were forcing her into.
But all that meant nothing, as Stern got too close for just a split second, and was harshly swatted aside with one of her claws. As Levi moved in to take up the slack for a moment, she suddenly found herself trapped within the same claw's grip, and having to use every ounce of her strength just to avoid being crushed. It was almost too much...
"Levi!!" Dearche screamed from the sidelines, unable to do more while trapped within Stern's bind.

Suddenly Stern appeared behind the Unbreakable Dark, a fire in her eyes, as well as on her staff, as she prepared to use everything she had.

"Get the hell off of her!!" Stern roared, before launching her attack; a full-magazined Luciferion Breaker, enhanced with one of the cartridges she had mentioned before, designed solely to destroy U-D. This was it; their best chance.
As the attack hit, U-D screamed in anguish, the surrounding area completely cut off for a long moment with a blazing orange light, hiding everything from their audience's view, before it faded.

And it was then that the awful truth of the scene was revealed.

Sonic was getting ready to battle as Doom ordered. His mind was finally clear enough to focus...but then he heard something. A scream coming from U-D's direction.
He turned to see what it was, and was struck motionless at the sight. Stern and Levi had been impaled several times by U-D. They had been killed by U-D.

Spoiler: music

Without warning, a giant black explosion of energy emerged from Sonic, along with a cry echoing across the skies. Pieces of his armor fell from the blackness.
When the blackness faded, a dark figure stood in Sonic's place, the anti-version of Super Sonic; Dark Super Sonic.
"Eggman...Levi...Stern...All taken by you. And now..." Sonic said, his voice having a dark echo that could be heard from afar. He looked toward U-D, and charged at her at incredible speeds.
"NOW IT'S YOUR TURN TO DIE!" He yelled.
As he sped through the sky, he rolled into a ball before crashing into U-D with incredible force, the friction increasing the longer he stayed in contact with her.

Dropping the bodies of Levi and Stern, U-D slammed both claws down around Sonic, holding him there in them for a moment before hurling him away.
"I had no choice. I can't preven the deaths that happen. I told them to run, but they didn't." she answered him, before surrounding herself in a black aura. "And now... the same must happen to you. I'm sorry..."
She lunged towards Sonic before he could even react, her hand suddenly being embedded in his chest, going through some form of portal.
"Ancient..."
She drew her hand back, pulling a massive blade out from his chest, and holding it there in the air before spinning around and hurling it towards him, expecting a block... which never came.

"Stern! Levi!" Dearche screamed, breaking the now-heavily weakened bind and flying over to her two retainers, cradling them both in her arms. "Speak to me!"
"King..." Stern replied, weakly. "Where is U-D?"
"Sonic's fighting her, but you did it. She's weakened, enough that Avenir will be able to take care of the rest, and I'll finish her soon after that!"
"You should... hurry on after her." Levi urged her in response, small amounts of blood leaking from her wounds. "Before she gets too far..."
"Shut up, don't be so ridiculous! Here, let me recover you, I have the strength to share it with you both!"
"You can't do that, king..."
"It should be us sharing our strength with you. You're the one we need if we're going to save anyone..."
Together, Levi and Stern began to glow in their respective colours. Weakly at first, but it was slowly getting brighter, as Dearche began to panic.

"No! You can't do this!" she yelled, tears begining to run down her cheeks. "I don't need your power, I don't want it!"
"We can't fight anymore. It's as I said before; the rest is up to you."
"We're giving you the power you always searched for. Hasn't it always been your dream?"
"Idiots! What kind of king would I be without followers?! Stop! Stop, I order you as your king!"
"We won't." Stern replied defiantly. "If you can't be anything but a king, we can't be anything but your retainers."
"Our power... our dreams... they're yours now."
And so they vanished, completely ceasing to be as Dearche's body absorbed their power, manifested in her wings as orange and cyan glows.

Her heart broken, she screamed out, the tears still falling from her eyes.
They were gone.

As U-D's blade came at toward him, Sonic grabbed the blade by it's flat sides, a hand on each side. He struggled to hold it in place.
"You...You've taken three lives today...Three lives that didn't need to be lost..." Sonic said, his grip tightening.
"Stern and Levi...They were my friends, and Eggman...I knew him my entire life..." He continued, his grip tightening even further.
"And now...Because of you...They're gone!" He yelled, his grip tightening further still.
"CHAOS..." Sonics hands began to glow as he started his ability.
"CONTROL!!!" As he finished the final word, time stopped around him. Knowing this, he let go of the sword.
Sonic flew up to the hilt of the sword, and took it from U-D's hands. He then returned to his earlier position, and held the blade, ready to strike U-D with it.
"Release!" He called, releasing everything from the effects of Chaos Control.
Within a split second, Sonic charged at U-D, the tip of the blade held out in front of him.
"DIE!"
His yell was followed by a sound.
The sound of a blade striking it's opponent.
Sonic had done it. He had reversed U-D's most powerful technique and used it against her.
U-D had been impaled.

As she was impaled by her own move, a one in a million shot (it will never work again) U-D screamed, before the move detonated, and she flew off, fast enough that it appeared as though she had simply vanished.
She had gotten away for the time being, but Sonic had proved that she wasn't as invincible as made out to be.

"Sonic, that's enough." Jail said over the comms, "The remaining Material may need your true self, so calm down for now. Save your rage for the final battle."

As much as he wanted to go after U-D to finish her off, Sonic listened to Jail.
"...Fine."
Sonic flew to the Saint's Cradle and landed inside, reverting back to his normal state. Right after he did though, he fell to his knees in exhaustion.
"D-Don't worry, I'm fine...I just need a minute..." He said before passing out right there.

~The Sky~
After watching Levi die right before her, a small tear rolled down Fate's cheeks.
She knew now that she had to try even harder if she wanted to defeat the Unbreakable Dark.
"Let's go." Fate said, readying Bardiche and charging toward Thoma.
Doom and Wesker followed close behind.
"Of course."
"Gladly."

 

Marluxia caught the glasses from joker, then threw them back. Watching the death of the materials didn't make him sad in the slightest, it couldn't have. Nobodies were like that. Lack of hearts can sometimes cause one to come off as cold. Regardless of this, he charged at Thoma. He swung his scythe in an X like fashion, sending to waves of petals at him.

~~~Castle Oblivion~~~
"What's that scent? It feels....Familiar." Riku said to himself, sniffing the air. It was the same as his own...Yet different at the same time. It was so strange...Until it hit him that is. It couldn't be..He'd watched the replica die with his own eyes. He spun around to see Nixio charge into the room. "Been a long time, fake." He called him, out of an old habit.

 

“Who would understand you after I die? Who else would march forward by your side? My friend… when I think that you will live on all alone henceforth, I can’t help but shed tears…” ​

The usual smirk on the face of the arrogant king was now gone. After the tragedy that befell the proud retainers Stern and Levi, Gilgamesh lowered both his arm and stood from the throne of the Vimana. Walking a bit ahead Gilgamesh glanced down at the weeping Dearche. For what seemed a mere moment, in the place of Dearche and her retainers he thought he saw a man holding a great friend in a similar fashion, tears running down the man's face. With this Gilgamesh turned and stared up at U-D as she fled "Take notice, if they do not solve this then I shall apologies in awakening you to clean this mess up, Ea" Gilgamesh said
