~The Death Egg~

Now that everyone had returned to the Death Egg, Eggman began to think.
"Let's see...The Death Star is under attack by these Dalek things, and is most likely going to be destroyed. The only remaining threat is..."
"The Unbreakable Dark."
A chill ran down Eggman's spine at the mention of such a destructive creature.
"R-Right. Then I guess I have no choice. It's time to show the world the real capabilities of the Time Eater."
Before Eggman released the Time Eater, Iron Man removed his mask and grabbed Eggman's shoulder.
"Eggman, you're a widely known mad scientist. You've nearly conquered the Earth on more than one occasion. Why the sudden change of heart?"
Eggman sighed.
"It's what my grandfather would want me to do."
"Your grandfather? What does he have to do with anything?"
"He always taught me that the planet Earth was the Human's greatest treasure, and that it needs to be preserved. And I am not about to let a superpowered toddler destroy it!"
Without another word, Dr. Eggman got into the Time Eater's cockpit, and activated the systems.
"Tony, Lockon, Lyle, Setsuna, I hereby issue my final order: Regroup with Jail. Understood?"
"But what about-"
"That's an order, Stark! Now get moving, all of you!"
Eggman used the power of the Chaos Emeralds that were still loaded into the cockpit's core to have the Time Eater teleport them out of the Death Egg and right into Earth's atmosphere. He was miles above the ground, so he began flying downward at incredible speeds.
During his descent, Eggman contacted Jail.
"Doctor Scaglietti, this is Dr. Eggman. I am reporting that I am facing U-D head on. I have sent Mr. Stark, Lockon, Lyle and Setsuna to you. It's been a pleasure working with you." he said before opening a communications channel with Dr. Doom.
"Sonic, if you can hear this, then I want you to know...It's been fun." He said before cutting off all communications channels.
As U-D came into view, Eggman began firing off orbs of pure time energy at U-D from the Time Eater's hands.
"Take this you adolescent beast!"

~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~

When the message from Eggman ended, a look of fear could be seen in Sonic's eyes.
"Doom, I need you to let me out there!"
A sigh could be heard from underneath Doom's mask.
"No, Sonic. I can't."
"What!? Why not!?"
"...Because there is no victory in a double suicide mission."
No more words could escape from Sonic's mouth. All he could do was watch out the window as Eggman risked his life to combat the Unbreakable Dark.

Jail listened to the doctor in silence, somewhat speechless, for once.
"I... understand, doctor." he answered, solemnly. He had particularly enjoyed Eggman's company, though it had been short. "Know that I have never worked with anybody so truly equal with me in my lifetime."
And before he could say more, the channel was cut.
He re-entered the main room, seeing that there were more people there than before, and forcing a smile.
"Greetings, newcomers. I appologise for the poor welcome, but this is a poor time for cheerful hellos." he stated, looking over at the consoles.

"Hey, no, listen okay?" Levi said, seemingly panicking. "Some of us can go fight U-D with him and help him, right? We can do that?!"
"Levi... the unfortunate truth is that Dr. Eggman's actions will grant us a brief bonus of time before U-D is at full strength. He has done so of his own accord, not by order, and for that reason we have to allow it." Stern answered her 'sister', sounding cold as ever.
"Screw that, I'm heading out there!" she yelled, flying towards the teleporter before anybody could stop her, and warping herself to U-D's location.

U-D spun around just in time to see the doctor flying towards her, and brought out her claws once again, before the claws of the Time Eater met them.
She tilted her head in curiousity at the doctor's actions, meeting his gaze as she spoke directly to him.
"You would face me head-on, alone, even knowing the power I possess?" she asked him sadly. "Surely you must know that like everything else, you will end up destroyed..."
Her claws extended out into great wings, before she began firing shard rapidly at her opponent from within them.

Suddenly, the blue-haired girl appeared not far from them, launching herself towards the battle as fast as she could, before she was suddenly struck by a fiery bolt, causing her to hurtle towards the ocean instead, where she was caught by Stern, who had followed her.
"I'm sorry, but we cannot intervene in this, Levi." she said, flying her back out away from the fight. "Our plan is the only way forward."

Spoiler: music

As the bolts flew at Eggman from U-D's wings, Eggman quickly tried to use anything in his arsenal to combat U-D. Unfortunately, the cockpit was struck by one of the bolts, causing some of the controls to malfunction.
"No! Not now!" He yelled, attempting every function he could think of. But his attempt was in vain, as he was only taking more damage and losing more functions.
"I'm sorry, Grandfather...I couldn't do it..." He said, finally accepting that he could not beat U-D...Or save the planet that his grandfather and Maria loved so much.
Eggman enabled the only remaining function of his controls: The eject button. But this eject button did not eject Eggman, but the seven Chaos Emeralds. Back when Eggman first put the Emeralds in the control mechanism, a tracking device was attached to each one. These devices were wired to Sonic's DNA, and were to initiate Chaos Control in the event that they were removed using the eject function.
"Good luck...Sonic the Hedgehog." He said, before a barrage of bolts finally struck him. When this happened, the Time Eater let out a blood-curdling scream that could be heard for miles. Finally, an enormous black explosion of time particles came from the Time Eater, engulfing everything in sight except for U-D. The particles flew around the area frantically, small bolts of purple lightning surrounding each them. Finally, the explosion turned into an implosion, sucking everything caught into oblivion. Dr. Eggman was gone. U-D had defeated him.

~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~

Sonic fell to his knees at the sight of Eggman's defeat. Tears even came to his eyes.
"Why, Eggman!? Why'd you do it!? You knew how powerful she was and you went at her head on!"
It was at this moment that the Chaos Emeralds appeared around Sonic. He looked at them, seeing the tracking devices Eggman had placed on them. Then it hit him.
"He...He knew he wasn't going to make it..." Sonic said, his voice trembling.
Dr. Doom stepped over to the mourning hedgehog.
"His sacrifice will not have been in vain. He will be avenged."
Sonic just stayed on the ground, still trying to accept the loss of someone that he had known longer than Tails, even if the person had been fighting Sonic for his entire life.
"She...Will pay for this...And this time...I mean it!" He said, his voice gaining a darker tone near the end. His fur even turned a darker blue for a moment. Doom left him alone, returning to the radar of the fortress.

 

"... Sonic, I... I know what it's like to lose someone..." Luke attempted to comfort him, but was stopped by Joker. "Follow mother mary's advice, let it be."
A light suddenly surrounded Joker, and a guy who looked suspiciously like John Lennon was playing the Piano next to Joker.

Then Luke took up the song.

Then the guy who looks suspiciously like John Lennon joins in with a guy who looks suspiciously like Paul Mcartney.

Then there was an instrumental with the guitar done by Luke. The piano done by the guy who looks suspiciously like John Lennon, and other instruments done by the Joker.
After the instrumental and guitar solo, they continue...

"Whisper words of wisdom, let it be-EEEEE."
"And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me. Shine until tomorrow. Let it be."

Luke puts down his guitar whilst Joker shakes the hands of the two who look suspiciously like Paul Mcartney and John Lennon.
"Thank's Paul for making it!" "No problem."
"And thanks John! For being here!" "Hey, I owe you, you get me outta the underworld." "Yes well, I think Hades would like you back there." "Is to be expected." The two then left.
And yes, that was a musical, but those two havn't had much screen time so I figured, 'hey, why not?'... It was more of an accident, actually. But who cares?
OOC: The tilted words were Paul Mcartney and the underlined words were John Lennon

Teana walked in and immedietly punched both Joker and Luke across the face for having a musical number at an inappropriate time.
"What the hell do you think you're playing at?!" she yelled at them, rage in her eyes. "He just lost somebody that was a constant factor in his life. How would you feel if Batman died like that?!" she directed at Joker, grabbing him by his collar.
She shoved him away, before turning and approaching the screen that Sonic was visible on.
"Listen, Sonic wasn't it? I know you're hurting now, but that's why we have to keep fighting. If we don't, more people will have to feel that loss, or worse, the entire planet will be lost. Hold it together for a little while longer, alright?"

 

"... You just ruined the mood. Perhaps if you'd listen to the song, you'd now that we were trying to make him feel better! BUT NOOO! NO ONE LIKES THE BEATLES!" Then the question about Batman came. "... I'd actually appreciate a musical number. It'd show that someone cared at least. Oh and, by the way, we are on the other side of the screen you're shouting at sooooo.... that means you're next to Sonic."

"Yeah well you weren't before. And I can't tell what's a teleporter and what's a door in this place." Teana said, before she realise that what she thought was a screen was in fact a pane of glasss.
"Whatever. The point is that we have to keep going, no matter who we've lost. On that you'll agree, I'm sure."

 

"The song was called 'let it be'... yeah, that was kinda the point." Joker felt a tiny bit like Captain Obvious.

 

Eiji stopped Ankh "Oi Ankh, it's not her fault, besides, we have the other Medals to use, we can always get them back." Eiji reasoned with him as Ichigo looked around. [COLOR=]"We better get off this place, it seems we got these Dalek things invading this station."[/COLOR] He said and Inuyasha gave a nod. "Any bright ideas then?"

Grimmjow heard of Eggman's 'noble' death and he had to give that boiled egghead some respect. "What you done was just buy a little time.... geh, looks like I may have to partner with that SHinigami after all if I want our fight." Grimmjwo said annoyed, the thought of him and Ichigo fighting together almost made him sick.

Dr Maki was safely protected as the Daleks seemed to have unregistered his existence, just as well they were occupied with other matters, besides, all he woudl do would speak of Davros's name and if matters came to survival, he'll remove the Core Medals he collected and escaped by the Vortex Manipulator and search otu another source of people to utililze.

 

Looking around, Fang smiled and said, "Follow me, everyone!" She led them into the hangar bay, towards a large cruiser ship and took the controls with Snow. Hermione felt glad that Eiji was reasonable and forgiving at what happened with the Orange Combo, Harry sighed and sat with his friends, Kyo and chaos took the laser guns seats while Vanille stayed with Kisa and Illya, Ankh embarrassingly tried to apologize Hermione for his action, with a frown still on his face.

 

OOC: Ok, they've been in Thoma's vicinity for a few pages now if i'm not mistaken, so...May as well acknowledge it.
Marluxia stared out the window of the ship, when something caught his eye. A boy, standing there. "Jail" He called. "Is that him?"

~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~

The arguing between the Joker and Teana only enraged Sonic more.
"STOP!" He yelled, the evil tone returning to his voice.
He was still on the ground, holding himself in an attempt to comfort himself. Then rage began to come through him.
"She killed him...She killled him...She killed him..." He said, repeating that same sentence over and over and over.
Dr. Doom could see that Sonic was quickly loosing his sanity.
"He's not looking good. Get a medic Doombot down here, immediately!" Doom ordered. Within seconds, a Doombot came to Sonic's aid. The doombot attempted to pick the hedgehog up to bring him to the emergency room within the Fortress.
"GET AWAY FROM ME!!" He yelled, firing of a blast of black energy from his hand that went right through the Doombot's head. After making some obscure robot noises, the doombot fell to the floor.
Sonic sat there motionless for a moment, his arm still extended, until finally he went back to the ground.
"Teana's right...I just have to...Hold it back..."
The hedgehog continued to lay on the ground, his emotions going crazy. All he had to do now was await the moment he could finally let it out.

OOC: That's all for now.

 

"Well, lets go see." Fang said, leaving the ship and going to Jail. Hermione remained on chaos' back, hidding her face, Snow waved at Jail, Harry eyed Ankh for any strange activity, Ron was being handled by Kisa and Illya, Kyo followed Vanille and the others. Fang turned on her com (which she kept it on her since the recon mission), she asked, "Xion, where are you? Are you alright?"

"Indeed it is." Jail answered, as he walked in once again. "And the one he is with is one Subaru Nakajima, a close assosciate of Miss Lanster over there."
"Subaru's here?!" Teana said from the screen, before teleporting straight over. "And Thoma too? Why didn't you say so?!"
"Your reactions are so much more amusing when you're surprised." he answered, before walking to the front of the ship, smirking.
"Unfortunately, getting any closer will trigger Avenir into attacking, and he's far faster than all but one of us. Fate Testarossa, I will need you to take the lead on this one, as you in your Sonic Form are the only one that can stay ahead of him. I will also need somebody particularly skilled in defensive arts to go with her, do I have any volunteers?"

 

Marluxia thought it over for a moment. His doom count rendered the victim incapable of dealing or receiving damage, so their attacks would be ineffectual. What better defense could there be? but if is fighting style involved Many quick hits, it wouldn't hold out long. I may be of some use there. Depending on one factor. What sort of attacks does he use?

"By 'Defensive arts' I'm refering to shields, barriers, and the protection of others, not counterattacks." Jail explained, looking at Marluxia before continuing. "We need Avenir at full strength if he is to be of use to us, and fighting back gives too great a risk of harming him. That, and Testarossa will be vulnerable in her Sonic Form, meaning she may need protecting."

 

"I'm well aware of this. I have a certain ability..." Marluxia began, placing the doom count on Jail as a demonstration. Those under this curse can neither deal nor receive damage. So you need not worry about him being harmed. Unless it hits zero that is. However, if we don't let it get there, it should be fine. But with every hit they deal, the count raises by one. With every one dealt to them, it drops. When it hits a hundred the curse is broken. If he utilizes many small attacks, it won't be very effectual. But if he puts all his faith in single, devastating attacks, it'd be the perfect defense. Understand?" Marluxia said, concluding his Doom count tutorial and dismissing the one above Jail's head.

Jail thought on this for a long moment, before nodding.
"It sounds like the best we have, but while the Eclipse virus does make one overwhelmingly powerful, every mage has a basic shot attack. I don't know how that would have modified by the virus, very few have survived encounters with those infected."
He watched Marluxia expression, but as a Nobody, he didn't seem to show any fear.
"Very well. Fate, Marluxia will be defending you while you lure Avenir to U-D. Marluxia, I would advise putting the same counter on Thoma, in order to avoid permanently damaging him by accident."

"You're a brave one, Marluxia. Putting yourself in the thick of this conflict." Saix sat back down at the table with Ciel, "I guess not being able to feel fear has it's perks occasionally, don't be reckless though." That was about as close to a good luck Saix could muster. Ciel put his tea down and asked for Marluixa's attention, "Quite the noble one today, I mean after the part where we tried to kill a bunch of children. Master, what will you have your current pawn do? Until death or fulfillment of contract I am at your beck and call." His eyes started to glow a devilsh color, "Death looking like a more likely option by the minute." He smirked and bowed slightly.

With U-D somewhat distracted by the many attacks she'd been getting, Grievous was able to maneuver the Super Star Destroyer a great deal away from the girl. "Route all power to the deflector shields!" He roared at the stormtroopers as the small enemy ships continued to buzz around the vessel. TIE Fighters had begun engaging them from the rest of the fleet, giving Vader the clearance he needed to keep gripping U-D's ship. "I will destroy your ship girl, if it's the last thing I do." The pitch black behemoth had already begun to shake, but now appeared to actually be bowing down toward the sea. Grievous brought Vader up on the view screen and could see the enemy fighters begin to target him, he handed the controls off and rushed to the elevator. "My job always seems to be saving your ass, tin head." He started charging down the deck of the ship, igniting his four lightsabers he deflected any shot that came his way. He climbed to the spot where Vader was concentrating and could see and oncoming enemy ship charging for him, it seemed hellbent on oblivion. "Damn you." Grievous leapt from the Destroyer and speared his sabers into the tiny ship, causing it to spiral out of control and miss Vader. Managing to leap off before the ship spiraled off into the ocean, Grievous landed in the lower decks, somewhat beat up from the endeavor. "Extra life goes to Darth, use it well you deranged man."

Somewhere above the clouds Sephiroth watched the great war of this planet unfold, taking note of which side looked best suited to rid the planet of the other. "It doesn't matter who wins, you'll all kneel before a god when the last blood is shed. Until then I think a meeting is overdue with Hades, after all I did as instructed." He appeared down at the gates of the underworld and proceeded into Hade's lair. "Death god, show yourself." Hades poofed, leaning on Sephiroth's shoulder. "Mind keeping it down one wing? I have other guests." He referred to the The Fates singing in the back, "Man can those girls sing or what? I mean they are calling me a dirtbag, but it's very good. Now-" He sat down in his thrown and poofed a martini in his hand, then switching it to a glass of schnapps because the martini had apparently been done before. Plus he enjoyed saying schnapps. "Schnapps...schnapps...schnapps."
"Hades."
"Right you needed something?"
"My godhood, I've done what's required, bestow my full power back to me." Hades took a sip from his glass and made a funny face. "Schnapps...Ahem, love to, can't." A stare capable of killing small animals or children met Hades, "I mean, I can't yet. Not the time, we got a girl that appears to be PMSing, The Empire, some bunch of aliens attacking the Empire, and the rest of the do gooders. Having you go all Senior Psychopath on us right now would be way too much. Patience my friend, your time will come." Sephiroth nodded and took a seat by the chess board type table that was displaying the battles in HD picture.

 

Xion responded. "I'm fine... erm... I just don't know where I am."
Quick sidelight.
Whilst all the chaos was happening, everyone I was NOT using(The Doctor, Roxas, Xion, Percy, Nixio and Hope.) Had gone off to search for Joker... and had ended up in a strange underwater city as a result.
Why? Because I had no idea what was happening with them, that's why.
How had they gotten there? Jafar's portal skills need alot of work.
The Doctor then grabbed the com device. "Hello? Fang? Do you have anyone who can open a portal? Our coordinates are... 63° 2' N, 29° 55' W." Hope was still trying to recall what they had been doing before, but couldn't remember too well. Percy was feeling great, though. "This place is... abandoned." The Doctor looked up at a sign-post. "And has been since 1959..." The sign post said 'Happy New Year of 1959.' This place really creeped out Percy, what creeped him out more was some of the bodies lying around... they were... deforemd. One of them was wearing a Masquerade Ball mask. "Don't touch them." Ordered the Doctor, whizzing his Sonic around. "They have unknown energy readings, I think we should just get out of here." HOWEVER, we all know the Doctor will return to explore it... later.
