Game/Anime/Etc. the Character is from: Marvel Comics (Appearance based off recent movie and the Avengers)
Additional Info: Steve Rodgers was once a small, weak man who tried time and time again to enlist into the US military during World War II. Each time he was denied due to his physical ailments. Eventually, he was chosen to undergo an experiment to be the world's first super-solder. The experiment was a success, turning Steve from a weakling to one of the strongest men in America. He later donned the Red, White and Blue outfit, along with his shield made of Vibranium, and became Captain America. After defeating the Red Skull, he crashed his ship into the antarctic, freezing himself there. He was eventually found and thawed out by S.H.I.E.L.D. He currently serves as the first member of The Avengers.

 

Hate to be 'that guy'... but I swear his shield was made out of Vibranium (99.9% sure anyway), not Adamantium (which is Wolverine among other things...) lol

That is true.

 

It's a vibranium alloy that had some other metal (sometimes said to be Adamantium, sometimes not) put in by accident, in an unknown amount. This means that the shield is actually impossible to recreate.

 

Yes, I also remember him (Stark - Tony's Dad I mean...) saying that it was the last of it. So that's another reason why it's impossible to recreate. There is no more of the alloy left.

 

All the alloy that they had created from the accident, yes. It's said that any other combination of quantities would have rendered it far weaker than it is, so yeah.

 

Yeah, I figured it was something along those lines. lol
