Take the most powerful thing you cant think of, and multiply it's power by 10. No, 100. That's what you're dealing with when you face Gretchen.

 

First of all; in-show it's explicitly said that the more despair that is in the world, the stronger she is. She was said to have the power to destroy the world in ten days or less simply by existing. She was nowhere near as strong as she ends up at that point. It was heavily implied that the world would have just ended in minutes if she had been left around. That was just with one version of Earth's despair; here in Cove she has access to all universes despair due to the nature of the rift that's bringing people in. If she wanted anybody in Cove dead, they already would be, no questions asked.
Your Chaos Gods might be strong, but frankly they would struggle to take on Voltaire, never mind something like Gretchen.
No matter what you say is also invalidated by the fact that this is my storyline, and that if the Chaos Gods were actually stronger than her, you would simply be forbidden to use them in this Arc.

Nurgle is (in his canon) powered by the Despair, as well as a few other things, of an entire galaxy and he is only the third most powerful Chaos God. And if we went by the logic of the whole Crossover cover multiverse he'd still be the third most powerful. Khorne and Tzeentch are still more powerful then Nurgle, with Nurgle only being more powerful then Slaanesh who on the day of its birth slaughtered an entire pantheon.

And I'm not reserving the Chaos Gods as they wouldn't be able to interact with anyone anyway. :\

I'm (and I'm sure Dark) not denying that they're strong, but the simple fact is... there are still, bigger, badder and stronger things/people/beings in this Cove than you can possibly imagine.

 

I'm just having a friendly debate. But okay. :\

 

That explains nothing, frankly. Your argument assumes that they would be stronger than Gretchen in the first place, and continues from there. They aren't stronger, this is just a fact. I'm not going to argue about it, because it seems silly to argue about the strength of fictional characters.

I will say, however, that the gods would be able to interact with people as much as anyone else can, because Disgaea doesn't obey the laws of physics in the way that Earth does. We have Omega, who exists entirely of antimatter, walking it's surface, and several characters whose existences contradict each other. A few gods would not make anybody do so much as bat an eyelash.

 

*shrug* Okay. And debating the strength of fictional characters is fun!

People probably would bat an eyelash if they suddenly became bags of puss filled with disease, grew tentacles, etc. just by being near the Chaos Gods. Which is why I'm not having them show up because everyone would be screwed. But no more debating.

 

Disgaea logic would prevent that from happening unless the gods directed it to. And frankly it's the gods that would be screwed in the end, when they were eaten alive by a time-space distortion.

 

I know this is unrelated to the argument, but anyone up for looking forward to more comic relief characters?

Your arrogance is really starting to bother me. The fact that three people (counting Heartless because he knows full well how powerful Gretchen is, which you fail to recognise) disagree with what you're saying, and only you do agree, would imply that you are the one with a lack of knowledge on the subject. Laugh if you want to, but that just makes it seem like you want this to be a bigger dick contest, so if that's what you want I'll just say it right now;
Simon/Simone is the most powerful thing that will ever be in the Cove, Bushy not counted. If something opposes him, it might do so for a while, but it will lose. This is fact. Stop now.
