Creatures of the Night

Luciana left the house quickly, running into the streets with her arms spread out. Her cloak billowed in the wind, and the calming effects of a coming storm caused her to smile happily.

 

Jessica nodded, and held out her hand, taking his hand in hers. She grabbed his other hand and smiled, waiting for the perfect thunder. It was just a few seconds away.

Boom

And she went off into the graceful dance.

 

Raine followed as best he could, he wasn't fond of dancing but if it would get him to have his 'peace' he would do it. It brought back memories of a night he called 'The Ballroom of Blood'.

 

She kept dancing. The sight was lost from her and more memories spun through her head. She spun around also, out of sync. It wasn't like she meant to, but she was becoming distorted and following the way the memories were tracing through her mind... She moved around more differently than the thunder and lightning crackled.

 

Raine kept trying to keep up tripping over her almost unpredictable movements, he knew something was wrong.

Her eyes distorted from red to black every few seconds, and she kept dancing a puzzled look.
"I'm going to fall," she said, almost breathless. It was, indeed hard for her to breath at the memories coming back. It was like a few dreams whooshing by her eyes. She could remember her human life more vaguely.

 

Raine stopped her in her tracks and made sure she wouldn't fall over, "I'll sit you down somewhere if you need to", he said expecting either her agreement or her disaproval.

 

She nodded, not really able to say anything. She'd be afraid to say something her human life would have said. She wasn't a very old vampire, only about a few months old. She was still learning the basics.

 

Raine picked her up and carried her inside and sat her down on the stairs. He stepped back to give her space to breath but enough room for him to step in if shes about to tumble forwards down the staircase.

 

She reached for the railing, another black and white memory elapsing through her brain.
"Is it supposed to be this bad? Remembering your human life?" she asked, almost choking on her words. Her breathing was more easy, as she took each step, one by one, just slow enough to not trip.

 

"Remembering your human life? You mean you didn't have those memories?", he asked waiting for her to get a little further before he would keep up. This could be problamatic, I'll have to keep an eye on her until shes returned to her normal state of mind, he devised.

 

She shook her head, depressed now that she was supposed to have her memory.
"I can't remember anything to be honest... All I can remember was waking up behind a bar, and my clothes were all muddy, and it appeared I had been in a fight. I didn't have any I.D on me...."

 

"Makes sense, I heard that some awake with memory loss but to be sure i'll keep an eye on your health for tonight", Raine said keep up with her, "Do you need help getting down the stairs?", he asked.

 

She shrugged.
"I'm not sure," she said, shaking slightly, trying to go a little faster down the stairs. To her surprise, she actually tripped, grabbing the rail so she wouldn't fall all the way down. She couldn't help but almost cry. Something was different with her, and she knew it.

 

Raine walked right next to her and picked her up again, "I'll carry you since you'll be taking forever to get down stairs", he said without a look of concern anywhere in sight. He carried her down the stairs and into his appartment and lay her on the couch. "I'll need to get something to eat soon so you wait here while i'm out", he looked around the room seeing how neat and tidy it was.

 

She nodded, and laid her head against the couch. Her stupid dress was always making her fall, but she felt like he was so nice to her now.
"What's your name?" she asked, before she would forget.

 

Raine was already half way out the door when he stopped and rested on his forearm on the open door, "Raine", he said before leaving and closing the door, If I have to i'll learn your name later, he thought. He headed outside for his prey.

 

She smiled, putting her head against the couch, very tired. The memories wore her out. The rain kept her up good now, but she then looked down at her soaking wet dress. She'd head to her home to change into her regular clothes. This dress was only for a night as special as this.

 

Raine stalked the night, he found his target. A punk who stole a womans bag, it was obvious from the fact it was feminine. Instantly he dropped down behind him and snapped his neck before draining him dry of his blood. He left the body and headed back to the apartment.
