No Thanks Could we get a "Warning! - Someone has posted before you!" thing?

Actually we already have something like that. We subscribe to threads and can make it so we get notified via E-mail when someone posts. If you have an E-mail notifier installed, it's pretty much the same concept as what you're talking about.

It fills your E-mail account rapidly if it's a popular RP, though. :wacko:

You've got the email notifier and as well as the "PREVIEW POST" button.... <_< But of course, if vBulletin is able to make something like that, it will be useful nonetheless. And if it is a possibility, then it might also help if the users have the OPTION to either have "WARNING" pop-up or not.

And oh yes, that email notifier would fill up your account in less than an hour. :sweatdrop:

 

If we are using it for the Spam Zone...yeah it would. lol

 

I guess it would be kinda nice to have that espiecially when its like for RPGs and the spam zone

 

ya it would really help out in the RP section mostly, but i can see where it could help in like the other sections. i know something like this may be difficult but i really think it may be worth it to the RPers, i mean lets face in popular rps a lot of people posts go unnoticed because it didnt do anything to add to the post above that was posted while the member was writing his post. and it really sucks when you post a really long speech for your character with tons of details but as soon as you post you see that your post has nothing to do with the newest twist or turn in the plot. overall i agree with something like this.

 

Why don't we have a pop-up for every useless suggestion made?

Yeah i'd say this is pointless, like people have said we have preview post for a reason, also, who cares if you have to make one silly edit, either type faster or don't be so damn lazy.

Pressing the PREVIEW button once or twice doesn't hurt, nor does it hurt to edit. My gosh, people have gotten lazy even in the forums... <_<

this has been suggested before, and i think it was hit with the hammer of failure. I agree that it does bug, but it's not that hard to quickly edit your post, plus it adds mystery of sorts to whether or not you and the other RP are on the same wave lengths.

 

I couldn't even tell you for sure if that's something that can be installed or not...

It doesn't matter if it's a good idea or not, but first check if there's a mod for the forums like what you suggest.

This was brought up about a month ago or something and I believe that we were told it is not possible but if you hit the Preview button, you can see new posts that were added instead of just hitting reply so it would be about the same difference.

 

Yeah that's true, would be about the same thing.

 

This would be a great idea except what if you were posting in a super popular thread and it kept doing that everytime you posted. That would be really annoying.
