Yeah. Because everybody is always posting, and then having to go back and edit. This'd be a little thing that stops your post, if there are new ones since the last thing, and brings you back to the Posting screen and says, "Warning! New posts! You may want to revise you post." I know such a thing is possible, because I've seen it around on other forums.

Well, I like it. So if we get it we could check bacl, and edit it a little. I hate when I need to edit my post, but people already replyed to the un-edited version.

Omfg, La Sofa. Haven't seen you in AGGESSS.

But yeah. This would help tremendously in RP, and Forum Game threads. :x

Defiantly. I don't really see any negative in it. It has happened countless time where I was in the Rate the Sigs and avatar, and I don't want to post due there being a lot of people, and I would have to edit my post entirely.

People always say, "I have seen this in other forums"

D: I would like to see these super forums

Anywayz, it is a nice idea if it can be done <3

also people remember, some things can't be done on Vbulletin, just like how some things can't be done on invision boards <3

it's a good idea, but if it's a lot of trouble for whoever has to get it working, i would say it's not worth the trouble

But if you just press "PREVIEW POST" before you submit, you can see if there are any new posts or not.

    Hm..

Not a bad idea. As long as it doesn't cause too much trouble or take TOO much effort, I'm all for this suggestion.

    Whatever works, I suppose.

It IS a good idea, but seriously... just press the PREVIEW button... that refreshes the posts at the bottom and shows you any latest posts. O.o

She has a point. The preview would be the same thing as the Warning for new posts. Plus im pretty sure it wont kill you to have to spend 10 more seconds editing your post.

Except for the fact that if you're using a public computer and didn't click the "Remember Me" checkbox, the network will randomly log you out. And when that happens when you have a long post written up (due to inactivity for a long period of time) and try to use the "Preview Post" button, you'll be brought up to the Log In screen again and all that time spent will be all for nothing. It's happened to be a few times when using a public computer. :sideways:

I think it's a good idea if it can be implemented. If not though, we do have the solution to the dilemma which is to use that preview button I never use. >.> I would miss going back and editing with reasons of 'kweh' 'wark' etc. Perhaps though I will start using that a bit more when posting to sections that receive a lot of activity like the RPG section or Spam Zone. Thanks, Pyro, for pointing that out. *passes the gift of fire to the pyromaniac.*

Cool if it can be done, but you get far with the preview button as mentioned. I'm one of the people who use it ALL THE TIME, and I NEVER let any computer remember me not even my own laptop. Just preview very often as you write, you'll see how the text looks like if it needs any change, you'll see what the latest posts in said thread looks like including any newly added ones, and you'll stay logged in depending on how long you wait until you preview again. Usually it's something between 5-15 minutes. May seem tedious at first, but you'll get used to it.

And if you happen to have written too long to stay logged in with the preview thing, go back to the previous page and you should be able to see the text you have written. Or you can make it a rule to copy+paste all posts you make that are too long to write over again into Word until you are sure it has been posted. Refreshing a page is guarranteed to remove all of your work if you mistake it for a preview button.

Personally I think It would be VERY annoying after a while. If you have a sign coming up and saying 'Warning! - Someone has posted before you!' all the time and stopping your posts, I have a small feeling there would be complaints.
Especially, If you don't even want to reply to those posts that were just posted. Y'know, I would probably lose my mind ._.
I have no problems with the 'Edit' button. So what? You have to edit your post because of the one above you, I'd rather have that then get a sign every time you post In a popular thread.

    I'm not saying Its a bad Idea, Its actually very cool, but yeah, I'm not really the kind of person who enjoys annoying things and I'm sure theres plenty of other people like that out there <.>;

Er.. I just thought of another way... it's not as effective, and that it might only apply to people who have Yahoo! Messenger, per say [however if other Messengers are capable of doing so, well, there you go]...

    Well,
You always have the option of receiving an e-mail whenever there's a new post at a new thread, and when the email is sent to your account, the Messenger notifies you, telling you what the email is and where it's coming from.

I had that thing going on for MySpace, and honestly, I got a little tired of it after a while... <_< Agreeing with Jordier0xs0x here. It would get a little annoying. I keep my messenger off just because of that, and among other reasons.
