Earlier today I was explaining, to my little brother, about the theory that Terra is Xehanort. I went on to tell him that Xehanort/Terra then changed his name to Ansem. That's when a thought came to me. Could the original Xehanort still be alive?

Why did Xehanort decide to change his name to Ansem? Was it just because of the fact that Xehanort took his master's place? Was it because he suddenly remembered everything and with his memory his hatred for Xehanort returned with it? Or did he come face to face with the real Xehanort who happened to still be alive?

As we all know, the original Xehanort is the/a Keyblade Master of Darkness who, for as far as we know, has always walked the path of Darkness.

Terra, on the other hand, I am assuming is the/a Keyblade Master who walks the path of Dusk. My assumption is based on two things:

    1. the "Terra is Xehanort" theory.

    2. the clip from one of the trailers where Xehanort is talking to Terra about Darkness. Xehanort says something like, "I've waited for you long enough. When will you cross the bridge from light to dark and come to my side?"

Going by these two things, one could assume that Terra walks the path of Dusk and will eventually go bad. one of the problems with the the Terra is Xehanort theory is the fact that the Xehanort we know has white hair and Terra has brown.

I may have a theory on how this could work, and this will eventually bring us back to what my post was originally about. We can be fairly certain that at the end of BBS, there will be a big battle where the original Xehanort is defeated, or something like that. Well if that's the case, maybe in order to survive the original Xehanort possess Terra's heart or something and in doing so Terra's hair goes white, and his memory is wiped (remember, memories reside within the heart).

Why does Xehanort want to bring Terra over to the dark side? is it because he wishes to have more allies? is it because he wants someone to take his place? or is it because he desires a new body? Perhaps a younger, more capable body is to his liking (remember, Xehanort is the/a Keyblade Master of Darkness, meaning he is bad to the core). Being a Keyblade Master of Darkness, one could assume that Xehanort could only survive in a body with a heart who has given into the darkness.

This theory could explain why near end of the hidden trailer, in kh2 final mix, Terra's eyes turn yellow. Something to note here is that Xehanort's eyes are yellow as well. Remember, Riku was possessed by fake Xehanort's heartless, and look at what that ended up doing to his appearance.

The only other meaning, of Terra's change in eye color, that I can think of is at that point in the trailer, Terra went from light to dark and that because he gave into darkness he obtained yellow eyes. And if that's the case then maybe that means that giving into darkness also gave him white hair.

But anyway, what I'm getting at here is that if Xehanort did possess Terra, then maybe Xehanort eventually gained enough strength to form his body anew. This could be part of the reason why fake Xehanort changed his name, once again, to Ansem. perhaps real and fake Xehanort worked together to achieve some greater scheme. Perhaps real Xehanort will make his come back in KH3, if it ever comes out.

Sorry for my rambling, but those are the thoughts I had on the subject.

I for one think it is a very good point. it is entirely possible and, until the game comes out, we won't know for certain.

who I think Terra is, could possibly be Saix's somebody, which is just one of many possibilities.

and like I said, we won't know for certain until the games release.

because nobody in Kingdom Hearts has ever changed his name, right?
and Terra doesn't weild a real keyblade (no keychain) and his keyblade is massive (like Saix's claymore) so it could be possible. I never thought of that.
But i personally believe Terra is Xehanort (not master, Ansem's apprentice)/Ansem(the heartless)/Xemnas and Xenmas has no keyblade

Could work...I never really thought about it that way, but I don't think the X in the organization member's names is consistent. Terra could easily be Saix, or Xehanort/Ansem/Xemnas. And we are all going on the theory that Terra does surrender to the darkness eventually, which may not happen. Ven could instead. Or even Aqua, but she seems different, so I don' think she will.

Xehanort changed his name AFTER becoming a heartless to Ansem because he was continuing Ansem the Wise's research on the heart. The game tells you that in the Ansem Reports, I think, either that or they tell you through a cutscene.

No, I don't know that Xehanort has walked the path of darkness his whole life. He wouldn't be a keyblade MASTER if he had done that, because the keyblade goes to a person with a strong heart, and if you give in to the darkness, the keyblade doesn't choose you, if I'm remembering that right. So he couldn't be a keyblade wielder, much less a keyblade master, if he walked the path of darkness all of his life, so I'm guessing that he converted to using the power of darkness for his own personal gain.

This is from Secret Ansem Report 1:

He had no memories other than the name Xehanort, obviously, when Ansem found him. And he was too young to have been Master Xehanort, obviously since Ansem the Wise said that any immaturity was due to his young age.

I don't think you're right about the whole switching over to darkness thing, though. Riku didn't have yellow eyes, nor did he have white hair. Saix has those same eyes, yet he doesn't have white hair, and Xigbar has those eyes, any white hair?

hey just because someone submits to the darkness, doesn't necessarily mean they have a weak heart. If someone where to master the darkness without submitting, wouldn't it be fair to say they have a strong heart? And who says that Xehanort, the original, ever submitted to darkness? perhaps he walks with the darkness or maybe he has always been one with the dark.

besides, what about the stories of how the keyblade brought destruction to the world? Destruction is a very strong word to be applied to almost anything that could have been done by an accident. I can't think of why anyone, who hasn't submitted to darkness, would bring destruction.

remember that keyblade from kh1 that unlocks people's hearts? from what we saw, that keyblade didn't seem very good to me. just going by that, I would say that there is a strong possibly that along with "evil" keyblades comes evil keyblade masters.

Also, doesn't the original Xehanort go by the title Master Xehanort? I have heard many other people refer to him as that, and I would assume that that title would indicate that Xehanort is a Keyblade master. And don't forget all those keyblade that he controlled in the hidden trailer. He did that by shear will alone! that should be enough to indicate that his heart is strong enough to wield a keyblade!

I can't tell if you're talkin about Master Xehanort or Xehanort the apprentice. Looks more like Master Xehanort.

Are you talkin about the dark keyblade Sora used to stab himself? That was a fake keyblade made from the Princesses' of Heart hearts

I seriously doubt MX (Master Xehanort) is still alive simply for the fact that he isn't mentioned in any of the previous games. If he was still alive, he wouldn't hang out in one world, he'd be traveling to different worlds and doing things. Word would have eventually reached Sora and the others, or even the King. But none of that happened, so I don't think he's still alive.

good point. well then, I guess that if they ever make a kingdom hearts 3, we would probably end up fighting the original Xehanort again. I've heard a rumor that when you defeat someone's nobody and their heartless, then they will be reborn again. I'm doubt any of that is true though...

Actually if A HEARTLESS IS KILLED FIRST THEN THE NOBODY YOU WILL BE REBORN AS WHOLE. So we fight the Xehanort, Ansem the Wise apprentice in KH3.

Holy sh*t. I never thought about that. You are a genius.

As far as the storyline goes, Xehanort is supposed to be inside Riku's heart. I wonder why? Spiky, long, grey hair, both love the darkness, both worked with Ansem the Wise...really makes you think.
