I hear a lot of people say at school that it's an anime... But I don't think so. What about you, should I believe those dambasses?

Yes, it's an anime. Any animation made in Japan is considered anime.

Ofcourse its anime, just because its in English doesn't mean it's not. Besides you should be able to tell the difference in quality and design to that and American or English animation easily.

I hate to say it, but yeah, it is. Although it's not the best of quality animation it is. And also, there is a manga, so there is another reason for it to be considered an anime.

even though it seems more like a parody of an anime, it is an anime.

It is indeed an anime, much to my dismay.
It started airing in Japan on TV Asahi back in 1992.
It wasn't until late 2005-early 2006 that it was licensed in North America by Funimation.

The thing that suprises me is that The Boondocks is an anime.

    Actually it's not.
It's an American animated series created by Aaron McGruder that is heavily influenced by anime. Though the second season does feature some segments animated by Madhouse, the series itself is animated by Adelaide Productions, the animation division of Sony Pictures Television in Culver City, California.

Yeah, it's not, but it is from the same animators as Death Note...so...yeah.

But, yeah, Shin Chan is an anime and it mocks the American style of drawing which is why it looks that way.

I have always thought thay show looked anime-ish. Now I see why, I have always thought the opening looked a bit like an anime opening.

A lot of people on here have said it was an anime. Even though I didn't believe them, it's way too American to be Japanese.
