Well, I've been gone for the past week to a Christian camp my friends went to. My mom signed me on and already paid so I went. It was really fun to tell you the truth. I used to be an atheist but I feel God's presence now (I was already baptized but I never got in touch with God). So now I feel Him so I went to see my other friends and I said all this stuff about the camp and I told all my friends about it and then they say...

"What? You've got to be kidding? Nobody really changes religions."

Those are their exact words. Well I wanted to know if you people think it's really possible to convert to a different religion.

P.S. The camp's name is Kyrios. If anyone here lives in Northern Illionois or Southern Wisconsin, look it up.

Of course you can change religions. I was pretty much raised in the church, but I know that it's entirely possible to convert and truly mean it. And if you want to hear anything else about Christianity, I'm here to help. And I love having a new sibling in Christ.

You can do whatever you damn well please. One is limited by the borders of their mind and the destructibility of their body. So in short I may say the Bible was a bunch of guys trying to either help out or make a buck, but far be it from me to say that it's impossible for me to be wrong, or that I can't eventually see what some others see in it. Those who say you can't change are either mistaken or lying.

Atheism, I think, is the absence of religion. And by the way, Christianity is not a religion. It's a relationship with God and his son. :) I am a Christian. I went to a Christian camp a couple of weeks ago too. It was at a lake in the mountains!!

Many people change beliefs throughout their lifetime. Life is an experience and we alter and grow with it, changing often in views on a variety of topics. Spirituality is a part of that.

Whoever said you can't change religions is full of crap. Please tell them I said so.

I used to be quite a Christian, but after getting some sense konked into me, I pretty much converted into an Athiest.

    BS.

I was raised Catholic, educated Catholic, and confirmed Catholic.

However, as I spent those 12 years of my education learning of my religion, I realized how hypocritical it was.

    Like how we're supposed to love each other but the Christians can't accept those of a different faith then them, {heck the Pope even announced different Catholic sects aren't true Christians. But then again the Pope was a member of the Hitler Youth xD}

I now consider myself a worshiper of nature and the Pagan deities associated with them. Wiccan if you would like to call it that.

I think it's okay with whatever you feel is okay. It's your choice really, not anyone else's.

Religion is always a personal choice. You should never let anyone else decide it for you. Many people change in their teenage years after being raised a certain religion by their parents. It's completely fine. It's like say being completely devoted to a badn or something for ages, then realising you actually don't like them and changing (I know that that is a gross simplification, it was the only thing I could think of :S)

Yeah, there is no law to say it's not allowed to change religion. I know how you felt. I was raised as a christian but when I was old enough to make my own choices I decided not to but then my friend invited me to her youth group and it's so fun, changed my view forever. I know this one dude who changed religion alot! It's your choice, perfectly alright.

Same foes for Islam, except it's with Allah.

Why do people put their religion above others without ANY proof?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but just because you have fun at youth groups doesn't make your God real. Don't let yourself join the crowd. Find your own path. You cannot gain "Truth" listening to other people. I have no religion; I am agnostic. That's because no profound knowledge can be found in a book, or just told to you. You must find it on your own.

You can do what ever you believe you can do.
And technically you didn't change religion, but just took one up.

To Mirai, If a person believes that their religion is right, they will think that they are smarter than a person from a different relegion, so that makes them feel superior because of a relegion.

And as long as you believe in God/s then you are part of a relegion, because all you need to do is believe.

Religious bigots. I don't understand why. Christianity has as much evidence as Islam, or even Zeus! (i.e., none)

For one thing. I'm not one of those die-hard Catholics. I still think that we have choice and that missing masses and all of that stuff isn't a mortal sin like people say. I seriously do have views that I had as an atheist. Just because I accept it doesn't mean I believe all the crap they feed. 'Gay people go to hell' and all that crap is just plain dumb. Like I said. I still have atheist views.

Not being a homophobe isn't an atheist view. It's more of a liberal view (a liberal is a person who agrees with the advancement of society and peaceful coexistence with other cultures, and usually uphold knowledge), like me.

I say do whatever you wish with yourself. It's what you believe in, not what someone else tells you. I was born Catholic, raised Catholic, Confirmed......then last fall converted to Wicca and haven't regretted the change one bit.
