It's been bugging me how Luxord looks so much like Ansem.

Could it be that Luxord's "somebody" had a family connection to Ansem? Or is this a coincidence?

It hasn't been mentioned in the game and since Luxord doesn't have a HUGE part in it, it's just coincidence. Also, there was no mentioning of any of Ansem's siblings in his reports, only of his 6 apprentices.

I used to think the same thing, though. They look so much alike!

Actually, since the Nobody form slightly alters physical characteristics of the original, Luxord's "somebody" would look less like one of Ansem's relations. A fairly moot point, but worth noting nonetheless.

I think Luxord has no connection to Ansem what so ever.

Not really they don't look that much alike. If anything the similarities exist because the same people who worked on the series character design. So character can resemble each other and not be related. Both KH1 Sora and Leon could be mistaken as being related just by looking at them and we know this isn't true. Family really has no role in the KH series. And even so...
You'd think it would have been said in BBS if they were connected.
Or at least Luxord saying something about his brother the king of Radiant Garden.

I think it's possible that Lea and Isa were some of the people that the apprentices performed experiments on. It would explain why they originally had planned to betray them. I've never thought Luxord looked like Ansem...

I think it's just a coincidence, really. Luxord doesn't seem as much of a major character. But then again, you never really know.

They have the same hair colour, style and face. However as has already been stated, he's a minor character, so unlikely to serve any purpose other than a filler boss for a filler world. A pity, because he's quite a likeable character.

I agree, I was disappointed that his somebody wasn't even shown in BBS along with the others lower members.

1). Is it really this hard to say "Human"?

2). It's really more of a passing resemblance than anything. And if Luxord has a resemblance to Ansem then Luxord's human self (Let's call him... Dulor.) would look like him even less. Of course, this can work in reverse too, but their personlities as well are so much different.

Luxord, Demyx, Marluxia and Larxene haven't had any connections to thier pasts brought up, so why would BbS create these for their benefit? Xehanort-Ienzo were established to be Ansem's apprentices, and there was a huge antagonism between Saix and Axel shown in KH2, as well as Saix being Xemnas' second in command. This was fleshed out in Days, and the apprentices we know existed around this time, so it makes sense for this to occur in BbS. The others weren't hugely important characters anyway, save Marluxia.

actually...i can't really tell the difference between the members and their human selves the only real difference is they are younger and some of them have shorter hair...

I think the correct term is actually True Self, not sure on that.
Besides, humans were not the only species.
Scar made a Nobody, but we can't say his human self had claws. He was a lion.
That makes the rest of your post invalid then, if Marluxia was important, he should've been fleshed out.
    But I do agree, nonetheless.
1-6 were apprentices so even if the Somebodies weren't important, they would still be shown.
Look at Aeleus, he was shown, but it didn't seem like he was all that special. Nomura used the location they would be at, so of course, they were there.
I believe Axel was just there to appease the fans and Saix was there because of Axel.
Axel was meant to die at the end of Roxas' part in KH2, but the creators loved him so they let him live.
Fans fell in love with him so he became a bigger character. Nomura may have had always planned for him and Saix to be friends, but he used Days to hint at it and then, because he would Axel in BBS, he would have to use Saix.
    Simple as that.
