So i've just been admitted into the university I applied to.
    I am so damn excited!
Ama study to be a high school teacher
not sure what subject yet...either a kind of social studies (government, geography, history, etc.) or Spanish
I'm minoring in Spanish, my native tongue.
Me and a friend of mine are registering as roommates since i'm a partier and he's serious about his studies, we'll balance each other out
plus it's a 3-4 guy dorm so we can meet other freshman.

    but anyways

First off, congratulations. Secondly, in my talks with my parents about college is that they told me: the major thing that acts as a trap is all the free time. If you spend it partying all the time, you'll end up screwing yourself over. (I'm not saying not to party at all, just limit it.) Although I'm sure you knew that.

    Again, congratulations!

Well, congratulations! I pretty much jumped for joy when I found out I was accepted into AppState. I didn't apply as a freshman (2 years at Community College to get my associate's degree first), but I can tell you this: The internet will eat your free time alive if you let it. Also, to save money (if you need to), go to every free food event you can. Especially if you are on an on-campus meal plan.

And yes, unless you truly love teaching high school, I would not reccomend it. When I was there, some of the kids did... terrible things to the teacher. Mentally. There were times when the teacher of whatever class got so fed up they just went home for the day.

Hey, Congratulations ! Well, first of all focus, you need to focus in your goal and don't let distractions in. Remember it is your future, so you'll have to stay in your room sometimes when a party comes ( just when you have an exam and stuff like that ) I mean go to every party that you can WHEN you can. :)

I wouldn't say not to teach high school... just teach advanced courses and you should be fine. In my experience the students in advanced courses tend to be much more mature.

my advice (along with some AWESOME congrats!) is that you try your best to follow in your friend's footsteps when it comes to studying. one of the biggest challenges of college is balancing the partying and the schoolwork (TRUST ME, i know... heehee) so have a great time but stay on track because colleges love nothing more than ppl that dish out money to them and then get no credit for the classes they take because they fail from slacking off... just some advice there! HAVE FUN!!! :D

First off, congratulations are in order. Getting an acceptance letter from a university you wanted to get into is very exciting.

Second, nice to hear you wish to pursue teaching as a career. I myself will be finishing my professional semester next year and will be licensed to teach 4th grade in Massachusetts. Teaching's a very rewarding career. And kudos to you for trying high school. I don't think I would be able to handle it. Elementary kids...they're at an age where they'll follow directions but they still just want to goof off and have fun.

I love my kids at my host school right now, and you'll do the same. You do get very attached to your field placements.

Let's see....advice? Well, for college in general make sure to stay on top of your assignments. Nothing's going to stress you out more than goofing off during the week and realizing a 7 page lab report is due at 8:30 the following morning. On the other hand, make time to hang out with friends and goof off, it will lessen the stress. And try to stay on campus on the weekends. That's the best time to make friends and do things together. Who knows? You might start a study group or club, or just have a tight-knit group.

For your major choice...my advice is stay on top of the paperwork, and pay attention to when placement forms are due. Take any licensing tests as soon as you can and as soon as they are offered. I'm not sure where you live or how that works where you are, but where I live I have to take three exams, and I'm taking the second one in May. You also have to have a lot of patience with yourself and with your placement class. You'll end up burning yourself out very quickly if you stress too much or let too many things get to you.

That's all I've got for now. If you need anything else, PM me and we can chat.
