Wow. How are people still this confused about Riku losing his heart or not this long after the game came out. You don't need anything other than KH1 to tell you that he never became a heartless, and we've had CoM and KHII to confirm it. Kinda sad, really...

Riku used the darkness in his heart to become Dark Riku. When the power of darkness still couldn't defeat the keyblade, he allowed Xehanort's heartless to share his body. Xehanort then took over Riku from the inside, and Riku's heart and soul left its body to protect Kairi. It then went to the Realm of Darkness while Xehanort's heart and Riku's body went on pwning Sora.

To become a heartless, you must lose your heart to the darkness. To have a nobody, your body and soul have to remain behind. Riku is a different combination. He lost his heart and soul, and left only the body behind. This would make him a spirit and a hollow shell that Xehanort uses for his own purpose. Not a nobody.

Hopefully this will help finally clear up the mess.

But this means, since Riku DID lose his heart to protect Kairi and his soul, Riku became a Soulless and Heartless Shell that Xehanort's Heartless took over and allowed to be horribly mutated into the spacecraft thing in the final battle.

There's nothing saying that. It's speculation. Riku had his whole mind/spirit casted out of his body to Darkness but when he was on the other side of the door, his body, after Xehanort's Heartless was defeated, rejoined with him. That is the reason Riku had to remain behind and be sealed. I think the debate about Riku having a Nobody is pretty old and I hope that by now everyone sees he doesn't have one. He never lost his heart to darkness. He only had given into Darkness but never was entirely consumed by it. Xehanort's Heartless simply removed him from his body which probably when Riku made his stand against Xehanort's Heartless to pause him from harming Kairi, Goofy and Donald was what saved him from falling into Darkness utterly. After all, the only reason Riku was going into despair in the first place was his fear for Kairi being lost to Darkness etc and he was betrayed, because Xehanort's Heartless knew all along where Kairi was, even if Sora was a dingbat and didn't figure it out himself .

Yeah, sorry to have to put you all through this, but I am constantly being plagued by the stupidity of people who can't see what's spelled out in front of them.

And, @Xendane: No, he DID NOT lose his heart, because his soul was still attached to it. He lost his body, not his heart.

lol. I like the last part.

But, yeah, the only thing to prove that Riku COULD have lost his heart is when Xehanort's Heartless took over, but even then Riku helped Sora fight back, because when Sora was falling off the space craft thing, Riku's soul came in and said "You're not giving up already, are you?" and he helped seal the door to Darkness after his heart and soul came back, so that is the ONLY thing that could possibly prove Riku lost his heart.

My bad. I got confused because I'm a little tired today. I just woke up. :D

it would be cool if riku did become a heartless and had a nobody.
oh well, at least he was able to use darkness as his power.

If Riku were to become a Heartless, his nobody would likely be named Kirxu. Bu, since he ISN'T a Heartless and never became one, we don't give a flying cr*p about how much it seemed/looked/felt/sounded like he became a Heartless, right? He never did, that's the thing. OTHERwise, he would have been slaughtered along with Org. 13. No doubt there. Sure, he was slaughtered, but NOT AS A HEARTLESS, even LESS as a nobody. Any comments here? Any at all?

    riku rules :D

still there is one thing that still bother me... (forgive me if this is off-topic) remember when riku kicked zexion's *** on chain/rechain of memories and Zexion asked himself: «What, what IS he?! No one's ever worn the darkness the way he does. It's NOT POSSIBLE!»

what did he mean?? «No one's ever worn the darkness the way he does» --> that means no one has ever used the power of darkness combined with the powers of light?? or no one used the power of darkness without being corrupted by it??

Saying the things in this way looks like riku is even stronger than sora don't u think?

like I said: RIKU RULEZZ :D:D:D

He means Riku is so intertwined with Darkness that he overpowers just about everyone except Sora. Riku pwns all.

Meh, the end of boss sayings are usually something of disbelief. Don't let it bother you.

When Riku first appeared and they identified him correctly, he was also called the "Hero of Darkness" by the Org members there. The reason is because he 'triumphed over Darkness' and he did not lose his Heart.

Riku baffled them because he was raw power, regardless of what he does and he was the actual intended Keyblade wielder. He also had Heartless Xehanort within him which made him -smell- like Xemnas. I could believe that Zexion meant that he wielded the power of Darkness and yet he refused to give into the corruption of it -and- that he was so powerful in Darkness it was all just extremely baffling. I'm also sure Lexaeus losing to Riku was a tremendous surprise too, as they continued to try to get Riku to at first 'turn to Darkness' utterly and then to just off the kid.

I do not think Riku is -weaker- than Sora. Really, if you think about it, he's never faced Sora one-on-one except for when Ansem was merged with him. The last time you fight Riku fairly, Sora has his 2 buddies in it. Riku's Heart was struggling in KH, which I think maybe we'll learn more why in BBS, but his mind and his body force were at least on par with Sora. After CoM, I think Riku became more complete and grew more, even without a Keyblade. It makes me ponder if the intended Keyblade users aren't supposed to be 'superhuman' and if they don't get a Keyblade, they still are going to be extremely unique. It could be also an effect from Xehanort being in him, mutating Riku as I think he did Terra. After all, Master Xehanort was a Keyblade wielder too and possibly -the- Keyblade master.

Now...I'm onto more speculations. argh. Thanks topic!
